This is also my plan. I can understand Beardy's all or nothing approach, too. I tend to want to do that, which is great when it is on the ALL side of things, but it really stinks when I decide I'm ready for the NOTHING part. Moderation is what makes the most sense for me right now. I'd also like to point out that telling…

Unfortunately, I had a really scary issue with this. I almost passed out during my usual cardio class. Went to the doc the next day and after some stat bloodwork, I found myself getting 2 units of blood due to extreme anemia. I ended up getting several more units over the next month or so, then when I started seeing a…

I know this is almost a year old, but this one is, hand's down, my favorite! I guess I share the gym anxiety with you. This would be such a boost to me if the gym guys thought I was one of them. GREAT JOB! =)

Hello! I could have written your post as well. You are not alone in this struggle. I still have about 75 lbs to go, and I recently stopped a 30+ lb gain. UGH! I don't want to think too much about that. I cannot tolerate losing 75 lbs today. I am working to practice mindfulness. I can't tolerate how far I have to go for my…

I am a gadget girl. I have had all of the wearable fitness tech stuff out there, except for the nike fuel one. This year there will be an EXPLOSION of wearable tech. I am so excited! Samsung just released info on their new watch/fitness band yesterday. Apple is reportedly releasing theirs soon, too. It will likely be late…

Congratulations! Keep at it and DO NOT STEP ON THE SCALE again for several days. Don't let silly, meaningless fluctuations ruin your healthy glow. =)

I second this! I have severe iron deficiency anemia related to my weight loss surgery (yes, I did do it to myself, I'm a big girl and I am handling my consequences!) and I can tell you that iron levels really do make a huge difference. As a nurse, my suggestion is always to have a complete physical including some basic lab…

I do lots of really small, protein packed meals. Always something before a workout and something after. Don't be afraid to experiment with your meals and your calories.

I have had all versions of the fitbit (except the force) and the two jawbone UP units. The fitbits all worked great, the UP had to be replaced and the charging just was a pain for me, as was the app issues, so I sold it and got the Flex. I'm happy with the functionality of the flex but REALLY wish it had a display. I did…

AMEN! The gym isn't for everyone. If we start changing everyone else for the sake of the few, we start getting ridiculous pretty quick. So, we should make everyone else leave the weight room because someone has social phobia and needs to work out alone? And I understand what the teacher is going through. I have the same…

I am married to the youngest of 4 (and the best!) brothers and they married in chronological order, so I am, in fact, Mrs Dean number 4. =)
