  • I disagree, it's not non-sense. Evolutionary speaking, our body is very intelligent and keeping unneeded muscle around isn't beneficial to survival. Keeping stores of energy that cost nearly nothing is good. Those stores of energy would be fat. If you don't exercise, you'll lose some bodyfat and a lot of muscle. In…
  • How long have you been doing it, have you been keeping track of your calories, and what have you tried?
  • I agree with you. Iso exercises are great for vanity, making muscles big, and bragging rights but are pretty inefficient for building functional strength.
  • It works for some people, will it work for you? Maybe. Can you practice self-restraint and not over-eat? Can you accurately measure the portion size you should have? Remember, in the US we have outrageously sized portions. http://dietandobesity.files.wordpress.com/2011/11/portion-sizes.png
  • I'm going to play the bad guy here and say: "Drop them like a hot McHamburger." If it's "convenient", there are plenty of other better tasting and more nutritionally fulfilling things than that cup of questionable noodles.
  • That wasn't fair! I was about to really get going... :) The best way to do body weight exercises is to do body weight exercises. Remember that most lifting of the weights are isolation exercises by design (excluding things like olympic lifting, of course) whereas to do body exercises, it requires coordination of the…

You have a few aspects going against you; 1) it's been a while 2) you are older 3) you are going into it hurt 3.a) this makes it hard to train hard That being said, you need to find someone who can do a functional movement screen on…
  • My first thought: "See your doctor".
  • Wow. Can of worms here. I'd say protein shakes are the most beneficial supplements out there. There is a LOT of talk about exactly how much you should have. That being said, take what I say as a grain of salt. For my part, I try to take in about 180G of protein a day. I derived this number from my lean body mass weight.…
  • Not much. As previously stated, it's not really cardio. I'd urge you to do cardio anyway, or if you really don't want to do it, think of something as a replacement. Grab a friend and do tennis, go swimming, etc. Don't think of "cardio" as just walking/running/pedaling on a machine or bike.
