I went on a 10 day juice fast and after that, I appreciate food so much more. I have even gotten to the point where I like having just a little hunger in my tummy throughout the day. Don't think of it as deprivation, think of what good things you are doing for yourself in the long run! It really is all mental.

I only have some sort of recovery drink for a run that's over 6 miles. I've ran races all the way up to marathon distance and there's no need for it. There are a lot of forums about recovery and running on runnersworld.com as well! Happy training :-)

I've done 1/2 marathon trail runs, ran in the dunes, in heavy wooded areas etc. The only place i've had my garmin have a couple gps issues is when i ran a few races and the marathon in downtown chicago.
