Alton Brown has a really good recipe on foodnetwork.com. Just look around for it -- it was on his Buff Like Me episode. YYUUUMMM

Pick something up that weighs 2 pounds . . . it's more than you would think! :) Curious -- what's the 30 day shred???

WELCOME FELLOW HOOSIER!!!

Congrats! You look lovely!!!

I have many favorites. Anything by 3oh!3 keeps me going (but it's a bit explicit, I must forewarn). I like Hot 'n' Cold, Medicine, anything by P!nk . . . and I blush to admit, :blushing: I LOVE TECHNO! lol

I mix applesauce in my oatmeal . . . SO GOOD!!!

The only real reason to eat carbs before you work out is if you are diabetic. Working out releases insulin, and if you've taken insulin that day, your blood sugar could bottom out. So for diabetics, carbs before working out can be a very good thing. For the rest of us, though, it's unnecessary.

I'm sure we'll have fun dancing . . . Chris takes ballroom and plans to compete soon. I've been taking lessons for the past few weeks in secret. It's his Valentine's Day surprise!

Thanks, everyone. I couldn't have gotten here without support from friends and strangers alike.

I weighed in this morning at 176 . . . and this is the first time I've been in the 170s in a LONG time! I was actually dreading my weigh-in this morning, because I've kind of slacked off this past week on my exercise. But I guess I still did my body some good, because my loss was 5 lbs. I'M SO EXCITED! My boyfriend is…

You should really get 25-35 every day. It not only helps with regularity, but it can prevent colon cancer.

I like almost every tea I've ever had . . . except Earl Grey. If you're poor like me, the Celestial teas are great (less than $3 for 20 bags). I keep a box in my dorm room at all times. They have a variety pack with several of their fruit teas, which I love. About counting it as water intake, I think it's fine to do so.…

I don't know much about the actual HRM, but I do know that a resting HR of 55-65 is indicative of an athlete. Very healthy and normal.

I use a stationary bike in my school's gym, and it always seems like it gives me way too many. I usually just tell MFP the time I did under "stationary bicycle, general." I've been feeling kind of wary of even MFP though, so I'm trying to get my hands on an HRM.

Sounds really good! Thanks!

That's a really awesome point to bring up. In nursing school, they teach us the three main signs of being diabetic are uncontrollable thirst, frequent urination, and increased appetite. If people are having those symptoms, they need to go see a doctor ASAP. Also, if the urine ever smells fruity or sweet, tell your doctor…

Dance Off the Inches . . . I have the Hip Hop and Salsa ones. SO MUCH FUN!!! You can get them at Walmart for about $11, but I got mine at Barnes & Noble for $9 each (they were doing a buy 2 get 1 free special). I think the sale is still going on if you have a B&N in your area.

I've been looking for a good recipe for banana bread . . . thanks!!!

I would love to . . . but we don't have that in our college cafeteria. :grumble:

If I put oil in a pan to keep foods from sticking, do I count that as calories in? I know I don't eat everything I put in the bottom of the pan -- how do I count that?

It's okay, I ODed on my protein tonight. Who knew pork roast would throw me so far under the bus?! That's my main problem . . . protein. Arg.

I feel your pain. I was ruined by the cheesey goodness once myself. :grumble:

Bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches are the best for dinner!

I'm trying to eat clean in college, too. I totally understand what you're going through with this one. The best advice I've gotten so far is to use the zip n steam bags from Ziploc. Someone on MFP suggested them to me, and I was a little skeptical, but I tried them. I made some really good mashed potatos with the bags --…

I usually reside in Indianapolis, but I'm currently going to school in Northeast Tennessee.

You should really watch what you eat while you're trying to get pregnant. You should start taking pre-natal vitamins RIGHT NOW. Most women are pregnant for a few weeks before they have any idea, and that's when your baby is most susceptible to anything you take in. Drink your OJ and take that folic acid (it's a major…

I wish I liked salad . . . I know this is horrible, but I can't eat green leafys. When I was little, my dad told me never to eat something that looks like it has been mowed. Now, if I try to eat lettuce, spinach, etc., I get sick, almost immediately. I eat lots of brocolli just to get something green in my diet. :ohwell:

Heaven. No doubt.

I put red pepper flake and garlic on everything I eat. It helps me eat my veggies . . . and I'm very, very picky.

I've never heard of zip n steam bags. That's a good idea! Thanks!
