  • I think I am going to dust off a pilates Dvd I bought and never opened!
  • Checking in! 5 days in the green -- yes 5 days water -- yes Cardio -- no (I am on a fast cleanse and didn't want to over do it the first week no passing out on the treadmill) Try something new I did try one of Bob Harper's Dvd's I hadn't tried yet .. on Monday before the cleanse started
  • ^^^ Lol Alana I am not flexible either and only have tried yoga at home because I DO fall over! Good to have you in the challenge Karmahealer!!
  • Deanna and Alana! Don't get discouraged ladies! I will tell you that is the very mistake I made and it all went down hill from there. I know it is kind of hard not to make it about the scale but because I wasn't paying attention to all the other awesome stuff that comes along with taking care of myself (ie. self pride,…
  • Thanks Alana! I feel better I have a check up tomorrow and I will be ready to rock again!
  • Me!!! I am starting over! I had lost close to 30 when I backslid!! We do little challenges in here to get/stay motivated I had surgery last week so I didn't participate but I am back at it tomorrow! Join us! I'll friend you!
  • I haven't given up! I had eye surgery and haven't been doing much but sleeping and recuperating. As soon as I am not so sensitive to light (including the computer glare) I am back at it! :)
  • Hi! You could always try giving him what he wants but doing a lowfat version. Make the chilli yourself with turkey burger seasoned so well he won't really notice OR the most lean ground beef. Then I think the velveeta cheese makes a light version that isn't bad at all especially when mixed with something like chilli. Or…
  • Looks like the consensus is that one serving of V8 fusion counts as one serving of fruits and one serving of vegetables! Sounds good to me! : ) I am feeling good this week. I did Bob Harper's extreme weight loss video last night and nearly keeled over but it felt nice. I might do that or another video a few more days…
  • ^^^^ I agree! I either plan ahead by scoping out the menu online OR if it is a really special occasion and I don't want to have to worry about the calories I will plan for that night to be my cheat day. Everyone's different so if a cheat day will lead to a cheat week for you then skip it and pack a snack for the movie and…
  • Staying organized is key for me. I can't wander through my life without a plan. If I don't have a lunch plan, all of the sudden it will be 2 in the afternoon I will be starving and stopping at a drive thru for instant gratification. Being organized for me means batch cooking on Sunday. Making chicken breasts, cutting…
  • Hi! Eating after a workout is up to you as far as I know. I eat a granola bar or a piece of fruit after when I am feeling drained but otherwise gauge your level of hunger. I've learned through my countless weight loss efforts that there are a ton of theories and different ways to lose -- find something that clicks for you.…
  • Welcome! I think it's somewhere in your settings where you can decide what's seen. I haven't lost 172 pounds my new fitbit synced to my account before I had a chance to set it up. I am looking forward to getting to know you! Happy New Year!
  • I was having a hard time getting to sleep at night. I was having a hard time doing anything active! Going to the grocery store, walking across a busy parking lot, going anywhere I might have to walk for ANY length of time felt like a gigantic chore. My husband asked me to go on a walk with him and I said no thanks. He said…
  • Baked Kale is a crunchy salty healthy treat when you feel like chips but want to stay within your calories! Pre - heat oven to 450. Wash and dry kale and rip into pieces discarding stems. Put the kale into a freezer bag drizzle with EVOO, seal the bag and shake it to coat. Pour kale onto a baking sheet in one layer.…
  • This is going to be a great week everyone! It's almost the beginning of the year and lots of people will be resolving to do something that we've already been doing. Let's finish this year strong with support and accountability.
  • I found weight lifting hard to log here too. I ended up just keeping track with my heart rate monitor and then logging in the calories burned manually. Then I would just repeat that same entry instead of having to continually search for the specific exercise.
  • Welcome! We are glad to see you here. We are trying to keep the board active during the holidays so you will see me post questions at least once a week to make sure everyone is still awake! Lol Looking forward to getting to know you better. Melissa

  • I LOVE the food pantry idea too! Also I think it would be nice to not have an end weight because of how overwhelming it is but I remember the last time I felt really healthy in my own skin and it was at 150lbs. The docs say 105-135 for my height but I felt sexy healthy and strong at 150 so I am doing what feels right to…
  • Welcome Amanda! Glad to see here and I hope our group can be a supportive environment for you!
  • I identify with this so much. My dad was awful in this way too. He wasn't overweight but he said so many awful things to me "You'll never find a man if you're heavy!" and putting me on a diet while the whole family ate normal food. I remember eating cabbage soup for every meal for a week when I was like 13. When I look…
  • Oy! I have several triggers. Mine have to do with emotional issues. I'd say when I am stressing out because I haven't sold a house in a while and my husband asks me if I have any idea when my next paycheck will come I want to feed the stress. I order a french fry from McDonald's because the salty goodness makes me feel a…
  • You don't have a scale? Did yours break? I usually go to amazon they have great prices and offer reviews of the product so you can make sure you aren't getting a piece of junk!
  • It turns out that by the time everyone took one plate there was only an excess of stuffing (which I can freeze) and scraps of turkey left! Yipppeeee!! Looks like I will be able to start fresh on Monday without this holiday haunting me. I have definitely been struggling so I am determined to get back on track to at least…
  • Giving away leftovers seems to be the most popular idea. I often find that challenging because my husband would pitch a royal fit if I gave them all away.... Then I am still stuck with all this food in my face. I plan to have a serious talk with him to at least not take every fatty creamy cheesy side home with us!
  • EXACTLY That! I think when it's an overweight food pusher it is usually the above mentioned issue and sometimes jealousy that you are making such great progress! (47lbs is amazing and she knows it!) The others are just skinny people who have no idea what it's like to struggle with food. They eat when they're hungry or can…
  • Probably my worst food pushing incident happened at my best friend's child's baptism party. Her mom had made homemade macaroni and cheese (my favorite btw) and there was cake and even specialty beer. I had gone to lunch before hand to combat the onslaught of food and so I just wasn't hungry. My friend's mom started the…
  • My 4 ideas! 1. Exercise earlier in the day to help offset! 2. Bring your own dish so you have at least one choice that you know all the ingredients. 3. Drink Water 4. Don't come to the party on an empty stomach!
  • Someone posted this on my wall! -- "Since I'm not a part of your group I wasn't able to post a response but here are my suggestions: eat before you go so you are full not hungry while attending the party, exercise extra that day and in the days leading up to the party, don't have your conversation by the food table as that…
  • Thanks for those who participated! The purpose of the nutrition quizzes is to educate us so that when we are standing in a buffet line we can make better choices. I know I am guilty of guessing wrong at nutritional values for food I don't eat very often. Check your knowledge below: Custard Pie 221 Sweet Potato Pie 240…
