  • Hey Everyone! If you finished last week's challenge report back to this thread with your results. I will be posting a daily challenge this afternoon as well. Thanks!
  • People successfully lose weight all of the time. I am CONSTANTLY losing the same 30lbs because I am an emotional eater. I know I shouldn't eat fried food, sweets and other empty calories but I am constantly swinging back around to the food that tastes good. It makes me feel better. At least until I realize that I messed up…
  • ***************** ANSWER KEY ***************** (I took the calories from My fitness pal database.1 cup serving home made with full fat recipes like people usually make during the holidays) Mashed Cauliflower 134 calories Mashed Potatoes 200 calories Stove Top Stuffing 300 calories Mac n' Cheese 345 calories Candied Yams…
  • You crack me up quoting me! Good job on your loss! :flowerforyou:
  • Yaaaaaay!!!! Great job! :flowerforyou:
  • I answered the clean eating question in my friend request but then I thought I wonder if anyone else might appreciate an explanation... so here it is. "Clean eating" just means not going over your calories and making nutritious choices. You might have to eat 1600 calories a day. A "clean" way to get your calories might be…
  • On the weekends around my house we are busy with plans and things that don't make it easy to eat right. What I try to do (when I am staying on course) is try to make the best choices possible. Try to get a salad if that's not an option I order chicken or fish and try to make at least one of my sides a vegetable or cottage…
  • ^^^^ YAY!! You're back!
  • We are getting a nice little group gathered. Hopefully we can rope in a few more and we can have a healthy competition! Whoo hooo!!!
  • LOL Yes! I hear you about a free day getting out of control. It's funny though because for me the "fake fries" and stuff like that gets out of control. I find myself eating more because "it isn't as bad" lol. Finding what works for us as individuals is half the battle!
  • I find that I do better when following a plan. Most of the time when I do follow a plan I give myself a "free" day where I can eat whatever I want once a week (usually the day after weigh in). I find having a day to look forward to helps me not indulge on the day to day. I am not very good at eating yummy food in…
  • Not sure yet Wendy some of it will probably depend upon how many people we can get to participate. Right now I am thinking maybe a beginning weigh in (don't worry you won't have to share with everyone -- maybe a team captain if we do teams) and an ending weigh in and then weekly team goals (eating clean how many days,…
  • Pictures every ten pounds down is a really cool idea! Someone also said they put a container on their mantle full of pretty rocks one for each pound they need to lose. As they lose a pound they remove a rock -- it is a great visual! I haven't tried it yet but I thought I'd share.
  • How's everyone doing? I was thinking about doing a holiday challenge in place of the weekly challenges for the next couple of months to help us all stay on track. How many people would be interested in this idea?
  • I think do whatever works for you. It is not healthy to get addicted to the scale and can lead to some real problems but if it helps you at first? Do what you need to do to stay on track and as you get used to losing you can taper it off maybe? The only issue I can think besides scale addiction is the discouragement that…
  • ^^^^^ This is the "new to the workout section" it is just a paragraph in the challenge post. Followed by a link to see an example of the exercise.
  • Congrats Alana!! I second what Sarita said. I didn't eat on my wedding day until that night when we were back in the hotel. It was such a wonderful day it felt like a dream. Lol Ok I know I am corny but I LOVED every minute of it.Try and not lot yourself get stressed about the stuff the doesn't matter. Let some of the nit…
  • Great! Welcome everyone! If there's other people out there reading but not commenting you are more than welcome to join in too!
  • Nice Alana!! This week I have eaten Green Broccoli, green beans Orange- Cantaloupe Yellow Corn on the cob Thats all I can think of for now!
  • Oh my goodness me too! We stayed with friends and they kept treating us to their favorite restaurants with buffets or they'd order a bunch of appetizers for the group. It felt like there was no escaping so I just gave in! :-/
  • Welcome Sarah! I am not on the ball right now as of late but I do post the challenges on here and I make a great cheerleader! I am excited to get to know you! I have lost close to 30 pounds and I am hoping to rebound from being sick and keep truckin' along. I have about the same amount to lose as you so I understand what…
  • This week has been the pits! I am planning a big wedding at my church for 15 couples and I am coordinating EVERYTHING. It has been quite a feat. And it isn't even happening until October 20th. Sigh. I have to figure out a way to make myself a priority during this ridiculous time. Trying to figure out whether or not to…
  • Pre-trainer I mostly walked and did the couch to 5k program (walk/jog) because I've always wanted to do a 5k. With a trainer I do a lot of high intensity cardio and weight lifting high reps. He says when I go to the gym om my own I should be doing the elliptical for optimum results and low impact to my knees. He says on…
  • Get your numbers in everyone! Leader board will be posted tomorrow!
  • Great job!
  • Ok I don't think it is time to panic 7 days isn't really long enough to classify this as a plateau. If I were you I would change things up maybe change your diet eating fewer carbs or keep a closer eye on your salt intake. Also change your exercise or up your intensity. If you like to walk/run add a day or two on the…
  • Nope the "new to the workout" section is usually just weird or interesting exercises that people do in classes like crossfit or more advanced classes. You don't even have to do this section if you don't want but since it's in addition to the your normal exercise the suggested number of reps is for the entire week. If the…
