Instead of making this a "diet," why not find a level of food intake you can maintain, preferably for the rest of your life? That way, even though you'll lose weight slower initially, you'll have a bigger chance that you'll keep the weight off in the long run.

I'm giving up all sweets - cake, ice cream, candy, the works. I've realized I really depend on sugary, fatty treats as a pick-me-up, and it's become impossible for me to resist them. I hate the idea of being dependent on substance, so I'm giving them up to practice refusing treats. Maybe after lent I'll have treats…

I'm 5'3", and my goal is 120ish. But I might want to make that a little higher in the end - I want to keep my legs thick. :)
