  • Has to be HOT! =D
  • My husband was told by his doctor to eat more salt because he has a seizure condition and when he has a seizure, one of the triggers is low sodium. Knock on wood, he's been seizure-free for a record of 19 months! =)
  • I want to know how much I weigh, not how much my clothes weigh. I even take off my wedding ring, so I can weigh just myself and nothing else.
  • The KFC down the road from my house went out of business. Now my husband won't talk me into going there far too often! =>
  • My dogs will get in the way of my elliptical, which can be very dangerous for them, so I have to sneak downstairs and I'll hear my Basset/Beagle scratching at the door and Pomeranian will bark at being left out. When I'm trying to lift weights or do Pilates or Yoga, they will jump on me like they want to join in too, so…
  • My friend did this with her 10-year-old son and it worked like a charm: chop broccoli with a food processor very fine and mix with a spaghetti meat sauce. Her son loved it and never knew there was broccoli in it!
  • Joining my fitness pal is a great first step! It works if you can stick with it and abide by it! Welcome! =)
  • I try to log everything, so if I do have a cheat day, which isn't planned once a week, but most often happens on Sundays when my husband and I cook and eat all day, I have a guide to cut back on Monday. I think the damage all depends on the rest of the week. I've had a cheat Sunday kill my whole week and I've had a cheat…
  • For something like that, I would add half the time for standing because I would not normally bit sitting for that much time. If standing for 6 1/2 hours is not something I do every day, I would log it, but not all of it since I don't sit for that long every day either.
  • I will be cheating cause it's my Mom's last day of drinking before she gives it up for 3 months to loose weight for my brother's wedding, so I'm sure to be living it up with her. Haven't found any tasty treats to make yet, but my husband said something about coconut cake. I still have Valentine chocolates I've been…
  • Are you tracking your sodium? I had a deficit pretty much every day last week, maybe except for one day of being a few calories over my goal but still came in as a loss when I entered it at the end and it gave me my weight in 5 weeks if every day were like this day, and I had a 1.8 pound gain for the week. My sodium the…

  • Hi, I'm 41. I joined this site when I was 38 and lost 25 pounds in the first 5 months and kept it off for a year. Then I went through some major life changes and gained it all but 1 pound back in the last year and a half. I've been logging but I seem to have little control over what I consume in this new life of mine. I…
  • I used to only track losses and not gains as well, as I was going up and down by a few pounds and considered that maintaining...until the few pounds kept going up and not so much down. I don't know what it is, but I can give many excuses, I just can't seem to keep weight off these days. It's like taking one step forward…
  • Nude...first thing in the morning before I eat anything...I'll even take my jewelry off...want to most accurate reading.
  • I love my elloptical! I've had 2 over the last 12 years and have used it as part of my workout routine on a fairly regular basis. It's my favorite workout cause it's easy and gets my heart rate up and does help me to burn calories more-so than sitting on the couch. I'm 41-years-old and believe it or not, I don't have any…
  • Yes, and ribs, I agree. Just had ribs last night and was shocked at the amount of sodium!
  • Yes, I bet your clothes are more comfortable as well! Great job!! =D
  • I am sorry for your struggles. Does logging your food diary help at all? Have you made it public to your fitness pals? For me, usually, knowing that my fitness pals can see just what I'm eating and drinking (cause I log everything) helps me to at least scale back, but not so much this week I'm afraid, since I lost a friend…
  • Very inspiring everyone! Let's keep resisting something every day for something better! =D
  • Awesome KupCake & Princess! Good for you oh_em_gee, that's hard to do! =D
  • I don't dump anyone. If they decide to come back, I'm still here.
  • That IS great! Very motivating too! =D
  • I feel the same way, but I've also gone through a change in my life right around the same time, so I don't know what to blame it on, lol. Right after I turned 40, I sold my house, was homeless/camping for a month and then moved back to my home town where my family loves to feed me and enjoy drinks with me, so I gained back…
  • I can't do a lot of yoga moves cause my body just will not flex like that yet. I just do them as far as I can though and I still feel a good stretch so if I keep at it, I'll get there little by little. The breathing in yoga is also very important. As far as motivation to get up and do it, I find that viewing the posts of…
  • I find vodka to have a lot of calories, more than whiskey or rum anyway. For a hot toddy, I make a cup of tea with whiskey; I like it best with peppermint tea, and rum & coke zero is something I used to drink, until I heard so many horror stories about diet soda. I don't know about guilt-free, but tonight I'm splurging on…
