 Aw shoot. Depends on where in the world I am. Most of the time, here in the States, people think I'm Mexican or of some hispanic/latin descent. Other times people have thought I'm Thai, Indian, etc. I am Filipino and probably take more after the spanish blood I might have in my family. When I'm anywhere besides the…

I haven't, but was seriously considering doing this. This happens to be the only local half that I can do as a time predictor for a full I have in September. I have trained in the heat, and have done some shorter races in the summer, but full out racing a half in this heat might be a different beast. I am attempting a PR…

Though it's not recommended, weight loss during marathon training can be done... you just have to tread lightly! You really don't want to hinder performance or your training! I'm no expert but I've finally managed to find that balance. In the past I gave in to eating much more than I should, and that resulted in a slow…

Amen! I think every woman should LOVE their natural shape... the human body is a beautiful thing!!! BUT then again, I'm learning not to be so judgmental because I have close friends who've done it and it's been changing my mind seeing how happy they are...

 I used to be SO turned off by women who got implants... it made me think they are so gaddang insecure that they'd resort to having fake, artificial body parts. Then all of a sudden, my friends started getting them, and I realized I was right. They were insecure and did what they had to do to feel better about…

36, born in the Philippines, raised in California, and now an honorary TEXAN! :drinker:

:blushing: Awwwwww she/he loves you, even though it could get annoying. (As I'm typing this, my durn cat won't get her damn head off my keyboard....)

Vanity reasons  I admit I like what I see in the mirror, and I am flattered by compliments. But most importantly, I just feel so goddamn good that I can accomplish physical challenges I once thought was impossible... I love feeling like I'm in the best shape in my life... I love beating myself (not literally …

Ditto... I noticed her pro-ana persona but her post is not about promoting it... Yeah, while I do like some of the things mentioned on here, you're best off eating real food... BUT, unsweetened almond milk - either by Blue Diamond (40 calories a cup!) or by Silk (35 calories a cup) are AWESOME! I drink a few cups almost…

"GOOD" is all relative, unless you hold the current world record. (For women, I think it stands at 4:12 right now... someone correct me if I'm wrong...) Just remember that people run different paces for different reasons. If you're talking mile time as in a comfortable training pace vs. going all out, you'll get varying…

Hmmm, I, like most women on here, just like to go to the gym to do my duty and get **** done. I'm not there to socialize. BUT, if there just happens to be an attractive guy there that wants to come up to me, I wouldn't exactly shoot him down either. He would just have to be respectful of my space and not be creepy. I would…

I don't know. If anyone else has had success, please do share. I'm at a loss. :ohwell: I've tried everything, body glide, vaseline, etc. but no matter what I wear I still get scars underneath my "girls". Short or long run, it happens....

I don't know how y'all do it either... I'm half the size of most folks on here and I was grumpy at that amount LOL. I still managed to lose weight and inches by setting myself to 1600 and just keeping active. Eating at 1200 or below sucks balls and is not a sustainable lifestyle, no matter what size you are. Eat, folks!…

If I had a bag of trail mix or crunchy salty chips in front of me, there is no helping me. I can't buy a bag and eat just a serving. I've tried. That's the one thing I can't resist. I pay more to buy the single servings so I don't overdo it.

At my heaviest, a looong time ago, I used to be a D cup, which is A LOT on my 4'10" body. You can imagine how hard it was on my back. Now I'm much lighter and my breasts are much more proportionate to my body. I hover around a B-C cup. I suffer from poor posture due to lugging them around for so long. I'm working on that.…

By the way, I LOVE to cook and discover new recipes, ingredients, etc. What's fun is finding creative ways to add flavor without all the unnecessary fat, sugar, sodium, etc. There are SO many tasty ways you can make delicious meals that are good for you... that in itself is a fun activity and challenge. Broaden your…

What feels better to you? Don't get me wrong, I love both good food and also looking and feeling good too... it's a matter of finding that balance. You don't have to take yourself from one extreme to another. Think about all your hard work and then how much it would suck to reverse all that. If you love to cook and bake,…

More than likely, no, you're not eating enough.

4'10" 103 pounds and set myself to 1600. Have lost pounds and inches since December. Sometimes I don't eat exercise cals back if I'm not hungry. I wear a FitBit so I eat according to that. On days I don't exercise, my calorie needs are 1600-1700, so I create a small deficit from that. Slow and steady, as mentioned earlier,…

I think some people our size can do the 1200 cals a day if they're not too active. I'm not one of those people. I tried that for a few weeks and absolutely hated it. 4'10" 103 pounds, I set myself to 1600... have lost 9 pounds but most importantly body fat since December. I have been maintaining and if anything losing just…

Oh - to address the topic  this is so funny.... I am a Filipina - I was born in the Philippines but moved out to the States at a very young age - pretty much grew up here. ALL of my family is super small. All of my relatives back in P.I. are still super small, and always have been. Growing up, I was the chubby…

HAHAHAHA! So true! If you're a dark-skinned Filipino, people liken you to a day laborer. It's crazy how the females go nuts trying to lighten their skin. I think it's just part of the Spanish colonialism mentality that still runs rampant there.
-
Awwww! YES you can. I didn't know you smoke! No judgments here though! :drinker: But hey, you're here to get healthy and fit, and making the small changes everyday are what matters. You've already been doing a good job making changes in how you eat, plus consistently losing the weight, plus consistently logging. So yes,…

Yep, a Garmin 205 is definitely worth the cost. If you want a HRM, get the 305 - I have it and I absolutely love it! If you don't want to spend the money, there are a lot of great apps out there. Ditto to Runkeeper! I used to use it but hated worrying about my phone while I run.

Amen sista! My mantra exactly.

As a cleanse, or a quick fix to make you feel like you're lighter, it may be good to do once in a while. As a long term weight loss solution - not so ideal.
-
I know, but I've been losing while staying at 1600. I created a small food deficit (100 to 200 cals less), or a bigger one through exercise. I would never eat 600 cals a day. I'm only 4'10" 103 pounds, so I am in no rush to lose tons of weight each week. Slow and steady fat loss is my goal, really. Anyway, I am just in awe…

Congrats!

+1 to the Garmin Forerunner 305.

Congrats again! BQ is in the bag for you next!
