You cut fat. You doing so by cutting carbs. That way instead of burning through carbs you digest for energy, which is what typically happens, you'll break down the fat already present in your body and convert that into fat. You do this while upping your protein to minimize muscle deterioration as much as possible.

Okay I am going to answer with another question. So i can FEEL the muscles in my triceps and abs, etc but this layer of fat is still covering it. I mean HOW do i do it? Im only 7 lbs from being at my ideal weight and 5% from my ideal BF but it seems like way more than that, especially in the waist. SO do women have to be…

That's what I'm doing. Small changes. Slow and steady. Just taking my time. I think the only way to really get it done quicker is by carb cutting. And I'm just not into that. I LOVE my fruits and veges and it's just not for me. And I know all about muscular thighs. Mine are measuring at about 22.25 inches right now. I…

I'm 5'3, and currently weighing around 133, with a BF% of 21.6. The scale stopped moving for me when I started concentrating on strength more than cardio. So I stopped using it seriously. I do weigh myself, but don't really care what the numbers say. I now use the mirror and a tape to decided if I'm progressing. I would…

Yea, they're pretty high in calories. And offer like absolutely no nutritional value. I don't even eat them anymore. I now eat sweet potatoes, still high in calories, but so much better for you. I put a little Can't believe It's Not Butter spray butter with some cinnamon. Soooo good

I have the same exact thing. Right above it you can actually see muscle definition, but then I have this fanny pack thing. Lol. It's not huge, my waist measures at a 28 and there measures at a 31ish. I'm think it's because I still have about 10 pounds to drop and some more toning to do. It's really annoying tho.

I can have this issue sometimes. Usually when I leave the treadmill in it's lowered position. If I put it at an incline, I run better. Also, are you making sure to hit the balls of your feet first? You can injury yourself by not running properly. Especially on a treadmill.

I was a competitive gymnast. Everything we did was with bare feet. Unless you have a weak/injured ankle and are at high risk of rolling it, then I say go for it.

Time will help some. And so won't some toning. Some people actually need surgery to remove excess skin. It all has to do with the body's make up and skins elasticity as to whether it will/won't shrink back up.

Try working your way up by doing the ones where your knees stay on the ground.

I was thinking the same exact thing. Looks you you may be a size smaller. If not, pretty darn close to it!! Congrats

I've got a horrible mouth. I don't know how many times I've been told I talk like a sailor. BUT, I sensor myself in ALL situations. Whether it's kids or other adults. Anytime its mixed company I try to make it a point to be good about. It offends some people and I'd prefer not to be THAT person. My friends are the ones…

Heck yes, it's an NSV! You look great. Btw, love the second one. Where'd you get it?

Unfortunately, if she had the mind to put herself and her child in a situation like that, then what you say will have no impact on her. She's probably just get defensive and rude. I'd just stay away.

It's hard to say without knowing anything about you, your weight, or your body type. Could be post work out bloat if it's only a temporary thing. Are lifting heavy with low reps? Try lifting light with more reps.

I'm going to have to agree with you here. I find on this site you find more people glorifying ED than those that actually in all reality have them. It's pretty sad actually. And definitely attention seeking. Which in itself is a whole different/dangerous problem.

It's pretty typical to gain when you first start a new routine. It's from the glycerin (think that's the word?) and water build up from your muscles healing. Can last for a few weeks. This happens even when you don't feel sore. I just switched over to a more rigorous workout routine. I pay no attention to what it says on…

One of the best responses I've found on this site to the whole starvation mode question.

"A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips." Lol. This one, for some reason, just makes me giggle.

Awesome! You must feel great

I'm 5'3 and on the athletic side. I was my skinniest at 108. It was gross. It was like a borderline eating disorder/control thing. My goal right now is 122ish. Like I said, I'm on the athletic side, with medium sized bone build, anything lower than that starts to look not good on me. So, the point to all this, is yes.…

Definitely! I was a gymnastic when I was younger and had a rock solid body, complete with 6-pack too. Never touched a set of weights. Lunges, squats, sit-up-s, v-ups. push-ups, etc. There's a million things you can do at home right in your own living room to tone up in no time.

I pretty much stopped. Only every once in a while, usually only if I'm curious. I'm too busy to do it every day, all day. Way too time consuming. That being said, I still proportion things and keep a mental log so I stay around what I should. I'm just not worrying about the number as much. I eat when I'm hungry. But I make…

I did WW about 2 years ago. Loved it!! Lost about 25 pounds in 4 months. Then recently (after quitting smoking among other life style changes), I gained back about 16 pounds :-( I went to go back on WW, only to find out everything had changed. I hated it! Nothing was the same. I had to re-learn everything. So I switched to…

I've read numerous articles stating that some women can burn up to an additional 300 calories during menstruation. If you're that hungry, eat! Just be smart about your choices.

I was just thinking this exact thing when I came across this comment!! Way to go :-)
