I personally don't eat back my exercise calories and stick with my pre-exercise goals. I would buy a scale...I personally weigh in once a week on Fridays. I weigh in every Friday which works well for me...I think weighing everyday isn't as beneficial because everyone has 'off" days and I don't need anything to discourage me. Plus the only difference day by day is usualy water weight so I feel once a week is more accurate and it gives me motivation to look forward to seeing…

I actually gained about 1/2 lb during the first week on this site but your body was just getting used to it...my 2nd week, I lost 2.8 lbs, almost 3, so don't give up...The one thing I don't do is eat the "extra" calories it adds to your daily count after you exercise and that has seemed to work! 3 lbs is a lot in 1 week and if I were you, I would be proud! A healthy weight loss should be no more than 2 lbs a week so I think you are doing great!
