  • Yum! Now I know what I am eating for lunch this week!
  • ME! I've been on here for 10 months and have lost about 40 pounds (I hope, I haven't weighed in a few weeks). Looking at that right now, it seems right in line with my goals... but it has been a slow process to get there with many weeks of losing nothing or a few tenths of a pound! I did up my calories a month or two ago…
  • I love veggie pizza (my favorites are mushrooms, onions, black olives). I had a mediterraean pizza at a restaurant last week that was amazing too. Chicken, feta, kalamata olives (not a lot), and red/green peppers. Maybe tomatoes too, I can't remember!
  • So... now that it is April I *really* want to weigh in! (sigh). Thinking of taking measurements... though I don't have much faith in my ability to be consistent in where I measure so I don't put much stock in those. It has been a few months though, so surely I'll see *some* change! Off to find the tape measure...
  • My mom always used cottage cheese instead of ricotta in lasagna (I prefer ricotta though). Hmmm.... I'll have to run the recipe through and see how healthy lifestyle friendly it is :) Or maybe I'll just make up my own recipe!
  • To answer your latest questions: 7) pear 8) I've actively tried to lose weight (food diary, weigh ins) twice in the last 10 years. I've tried to lose weight just by changing up diet/exercise a couple of times besides that but I am not really sure if I got results since I wasn't weighing in at the time. I also had one…
  • Tonight we had sausages and peppers/onions sauteed in a bit of butter (next time I'll do olive oil and about 1 tbsp would be fine for all of it). Served with some leftover roasted potatoes and a salad with butter lettuce/cherry tomatoes/cucumber it was about 500 calories and a LOT of food. The chicken we had the other…
  • I would say yes. You are eating cleaner foods and getting better nutrients from the banana and almonds than the candy bars.
  • 1. Weight at the time of plateau: 211ish 2. Weight you had lost before plateau: about 25-30 pounds 3. Calories you were eating before plateau: 1300ish + exercise 4. How many calories you increased: I increased calories to my BMR (1550) + most of exercise calories 5. Did it work? If so, for how long? YES! I had my settings…
  • I had no idea that was a side effect of Zyrtec! First of all, my condolences on allergy issues. I've been pretty miserable lately too with all of the pollen (+ spring cleaning!) If I were having that many problems with Zyrtec, I'd take something else. Claritin is over the counter (and so is the generic) and Allegra just…
  • Personally, I don't count sugars from fruit as being over (unless you are eating A LOT of fruit). You can customize your calories by going to goals and selecting custom goals. I'd talk with your doctor about what you should put as a calorie goal during various stages of pregnancy and then manually set your goals.

  • Fruits and veggies! A medium apple, cup of strawberries, or 1/2 small banana are ones I know are 50 calories or less. Baby carrots, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes... yum! Or 1/2 cup of yogurt, depending on brand.
  • Good to see you on here LeLe... I have to admit I am *still* slacking, I can't seem to get to the point I feel comfortable exercising much (still asthma stuff, ugh... at least it is better).
  • Memphis... but I grew up in Nashville and *wish* I was back there. Does that count? :)
  • 2% cheddar cheese (eaten with apples, pears or crackers usually), pb and crackers, apple or banana, leftover chicken tenderloin from supper, hard boiled eggs, string cheese
  • I was thinking a banana as well. Throw some peanut butter in your car and you have a bit of protein to go along with it!
  • Chicken spaghetti (let me know if you want a recipe!) or any kind of pasta dish usually freezes well. Soups, though it may be getting warm for those. Not a freezer meal, but some other easy meals which involve very little cooking are taco salad (cook chicken in taco seasoning and dice up the vegetables -- or get someone…
  • I am not saying you are wrong (to be honest, I am struggling a little to figure out what you are advocating... besides saying that it is okay to lose weight a little faster than someone who has less to lose). I do want to share my experience though and why I think the "slow and steady" route has helped me. I started this…
  • Woohoo! I know you are SO glad to see different numbers. You are SO close to breaking 120... :) It must be nice to see single digits left to go!
  • Some thoughts so far... I like the freedom of not weighing... but I think not weighing in for as long as I have has made me be a little more lax than I'd normally be (especially on sodium!). I do like not having the weekly angst of "is this a good wi week or a bad one?". Right now i am thinking I may go to weighing every 2…
  • How much are you nursing? The recommended advice is to add in 500 calories for exclusive nursing... and a bit less than that once baby is on solids and you aren't nursing as much (when I did WW, the recommendation was an extra 50 calories per nursing session, I think, once baby was on solids). Based on what you are saying,…
  • Add me to the "eat more calories" group. I was at a huge plateau a few months ago. I upped my calories to my BMR (1550ish) and MFP told me I'd lose less than 1 pound a week. I averaged losing over a pound a week after losing a pound or two a month eating less calories. I haven't weighed lately... doing the Lenten no weigh…
  • I'd pick shrimp fried rice or vegetable fried rice and those yummy Chinese buffet green beans. :) Sometimes Chinese buffets around here have boiled shrimp (on the salad bar on ice) and that is another low calorie option. I'm not really sure on other vegetarian options.... I am not a vegetarian and I know that Moo Goo Gai…
  • Agreed *BUT*.... I do think that people have different ideas of what is healthy. For myself... I wouldn't say hamburgers or ice cream is "healthy" but I have no issue with fitting them into my diet (diet = food I eat to keep my body going). I would be offended if someone responded to me like some of the responses I've seen…
  • Great job, mom! :) I love watching my little guy make good choices too.
  • Great job! :) So... are we doing week 4 starting tomorrow? I've lost track! Planning on exercising tomorrow though...
  • I am nowhere near a healthy BMI now but have been at low-midrange before (admittedly, in college and not toned at all, so I'd guess that toned and at that size I'd be at the mid-high to high end of my BMI). My range is something like 98 pounds (ha!) to around 130 and that is a HUGE range on someone just over 5'! For now,…
  • Sorry I haven't checked in! I took the week off as well because of asthma issues. I think I'll just start wherever you are next week. Hmmm.... looks like the group is down to us. Maybe we should continue off the forums? (Though if anyone is reading this and wants to join in, feel free to send a private message to me!)
  • This sounds amazing! I will have to buy some chicken breasts to try... right now I only have lots of chicken tenders!
