Why did I read all of this?

I have this same problem. The joke is that people in my family have a multi-chambered stomach a la cows. I really have no idea how much I *could* eat if I were into competitive eating. I've gone to Golden Corral before and finished 6 plates of food before making it to the dessert bar. Ahhh... those were the days...lol

Yes, this is the one my g/f uses.

My girlfriend teaches Zumba, and she went to some website that you could put in the time and some other details, and it would give you the calories burned. If I can find it, I'll post it here.

I've never "officially" followed that diet, but I think I kind of do it by default. I'm healthy M-F, splurge on Saturday, and then feel guilty and don't eat much on Sunday...lol. I had no idea it was considered an actual diet, though.

My dad was a shadetree mechanic, so I've always done the maintenance myself and kept everything up to spec to ensure the longevity of the vehicle. Due to life changes the last 5 years or so, though, I seem to be getting a different car every 12-16 months...lol.

Pace yourself. Start off at a speed that may be a little slower than you expect you could run the full race in. Over a distance this long, your body will sometimes naturally increase/decrease the pace to match what it is capable of. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Alternate between gatorade/water. If anyone is giving out fresh…

Thanks! Best of luck to you as well.

It probably depends on the City. I'm in Birmingham, AL, and a fair number of people walk the 5K. There's also a 1 miler that other people (ex. families with small children) can do.

Excellent name!

Overly sensitive... and not to be mean, but if she isn't happy with her body, there's only ONE person who can do something about it. Ask her to join MFP :)

I think mine came out to like $22 after tax. I bought a big bag of the tiny Snickers, Milky Way, etc, and a 95 piece bag of Whoppers, Kit Kat, and Reese's cups. Slightly selfish reasoning on that last bag... I may be losing weight, but this fat boy is going to have some Reese's cups for Halloween :) P.S. I live in pretty…

Best of luck to you!

I started to take your reply to heart, I really did. But then I noticed you misspelled "democrat". It's that testy silent "e" again. Perhaps your keyboard needs a good cleaning.
-
>Everyone that I know who uses that phrase means that regardless of the reading on the scale, if you have improved your muscle to fat ratio by dropping fat and or increasing muscle, your body will take up less physical space. And everyone else just loves to argue on the internet...lol.
-
>Lol its cool if you think i have the inability to type sweety and thank you so much for pointing that out :) But if it makes you feel better please do continue. <3 LOL... that wasn't in response to you. But good to know nonetheless-eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

>Did you put an 'e' at the end of a word even if its not mean to be there? If so, then why are you crying about it?. I did have a lot of 'LAUGH OUT LOUDS' in my comment, showing the fact that im not trying to be rude, so end of conversation. It's amazing how defensive people get when they attempt to call someone out, only…

>How about stop then. Fair enough. When you stop eating sensibly, there's a chance that (given all other things being equal) you will gain some weight. Alternatively, when you stop a long term stretch of an ultra-low carb diet (given all other things being equal) you swell up like a friggin' rhino.
-
>It isn't wrong, it's just that people assume you are smart enough to know that of course we are talking about BY VOLUME. It's >freaking obvious. Why on earth would you try to compare a pound of something to a pound of something else? That's seriously >ignorant. Ed Zachary.
-
>What happens when you stope eating "Sensible" I'm not sure, is "stope" a verb?
-
>Just to explain, it's about weight of the same volume: >Basically, 1 cubic metre of lead will weight more than 1 cubic metre of wood (won't you agree?). >Well, same with muscles and fat. Yeah, by weight. Lol...
-
I just always assumed that the "by volume" was intrinsic to the context. i.e. the point being made is that you can have 2 people, both weighing 175 pounds, and one can be in the best/ripped shape of their life and the other one can be in terrible shape.
-
Actually, it does by volume. It's denser.

I'm going to catch hell for this, but I think any of the ultra-low or no-carb diets are joke. Are you going to lose weight? Yes. Will you have any energy to actually exercise and get in better shape? Nope. Are you going to blimp beyond your original weight once you start eating bread again? Yessir. Would you have been…

Right there with you. BMI calculations are a complete crock, in that they don't take body style into account. According to the federal government's guidelines, I need to weigh 194 to not be considered overweight. About 18 months ago at the height of my running/fitness regimine, I weighed 196 and people I worked with…

As many people said, calories are calories. I luuuuurve me some beer, though. I only get to go out with my gf every other weekend, but when I've been busting my butt running and watching what I eat for 2 weeks solid, I feel like I can have 3 Sweetwater IPAs as a reward (and if you haven't tried this beer...do). Sure,…

I can't see the pics (my work blocks photobucket), but that is awesome. Keep going, you're in the home stretch!!

Good advice above. Your body is the best measure of what's right, not MFP. As was stated, be sure you're not skimping on protein, though. As you approach your goal (or what your body feels is your optimum weight), your loss will start to taper off and you will plateau. Trust me. It may even get frustrating, but you have to…
