Natural selection at work. I'm pretty happy with where I live. I'm right on a major cycling artery and, surprisingly, most of the cyclists on it are actually pretty respectful of the traffic laws. The motorists are also (for the most part) pretty respectful of the cyclists. These aren't so much commuters as they are…

So, you did it, lost 50 lbs, gained it all back, so you're going to do it again? What's going to keep you from gaining it back this time?

If you are vomiting, you are pushing yourself too hard. Take a step back and re-evaluate.

Gotta hate those who make a bad name for the rest of us. I might get back into exclusively mountain biking, just so I can avoid the cars.

My current do-it-all bike weights a hefty 33 lbs dry, and I need a bigger frame. I, on the other hand, weight 240 lbs. I could do with losing at least 60 lbs. No point in dropping 10 lbs on the bike if I can't drop 20 off my own *kitten*. I love the versatility of it though. I'll be getting some touring tires so I…

You're better off buying a bike from nashbar. They're still decent bikes and are very cheap. http://www.nashbar.com That, or get an older, used bike, restore it a bit, and go from there. I just built and entire commuter bike for my brother - including fenders, racks, bags, etc, for under $350 CAD. I am personally in the…

^ This X 1000. Regardless of how much support you want or how hard you try, you will not be able to lose a consistent 2 lbs a week as you approach your goal. Not in a healthy way, at least. The best rule of thumb is to try to lose about 0.5% of your current body weight every week. So, if you weigh 200 lbs, that's 1…

From habit from my cycling days where I used it for zone training. I hadn't exercised in a long time, so I was using it to figure out where I was at, cardiovascular-wise.

I would just like to note: This calculation can be off by 20 bpm high or low. When I was 25, the calculation would mean my max HR would be 195 bpm. However, on a group run, I sprinted up a hill and hit 206 bpm. I didn't get light headed and I didn't see stars, so I know I probably could have hit 210 if the hill were longer.

One question of curiosity: Why is your heart rate important to you?
-
What?
-
That's helpful. Everything what?
-
Do you weigh and log everything you put into your mouth?
-
Why is there a picture of a naked man on the desktop?
-
Some people have a naturally elevated heart rate. I know I do. The numbers on the machines are just general guidelines set for the entire populace. What you should do is determine what your maximum heart rate and/or your lactate threshold and work off of your unique numbers.

This is why I have opted to go with mountain bikes, hybrids, touring bikes, and commuters. I'm currently riding on 2" tires. With my 240lbs *kitten* and a small load on the back, the rear tire is only holding 40-45psi and the front is holding 35-40 psi. Very, very comfy. I don't feel any slower. Also, I have a background…

I forgot this was the OP and all of the specifics. This thread is getting old and I usually don't re-read posts. My bad.

People in general. All day, every day.

I hope it wasn't the Oxford Dictionary that added it. I also prefer WTSF!?

http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10172475/weight-loss-help-yes-i-thought-these-boards-were-to-help-people/p1 I saw you were lurking pro-ana boards previously. Looks like you are seeking more pro-ana people. I strongly suggest seeing a therapist. That would probably be the best thing you can do for yourself…

"The best exercise for developing abs (toning the belly) is three sets of stop eating so damn much." ~ T-Nation. In other words, a calorie deficit is the only way you will lose weight around the belly. You cannot spot reduce and loose skin will naturally fix itself in its own time.
