First of all, don't use your HRM for a calorie burn estimate. They are notoriously inaccurate.* Heart rate monitors are only good for heart rate zone training - completely useless for weight lifting. In the MFP database, there's an entry under cardio called 'strength training.' You can use that. *Disclaimer: They have some…

In other news: Study finds that listening to Bieber will make your children behave better. http://www.spin.com/2013/01/justin-bieber-music-will-make-your-kids-better-people-ridiculous-study-finds/

I've seen a LOT of people end up being forced out of lifting for months at a time because they made weight a higher priority over form. It's not a matter of IF you injure yourself with poor form. It's a matter of when. It doesn't matter how strong or experienced you are. If you're doing it wrong, you will injure yourself.

A great man once said: "The last three or four reps is what makes the muscle grow. This area of pain divides the champion from someone else who is not a champion. That's what most people lack, having the guts to go on and just say they'll go through the pain no matter what happens."

It was a joke. 95% of the time you get a thread like this, you get a similar barrage of messages from people telling you it's a huge waste of money. The OP usually has nothing of it, says that she's only looking for people who have tried it and will only accept positive, supportive advice for the pills. then everyone is…

Did the OP just accept and is responding positively to all the mean people in this thread? I must be dreaming. That, or the MFP forums just broke.

Yes, it MUST have been the sugar! Lets completely ignore the potential of having a sensitivity to wheat, gluten, soy, or any other common allergen that might have been in the food. I have a sensitivity to soy. When I eat soy, I get a reaction much like you do. But lets not think critically. It's definitely the sugar. Derp…

Form is more important than anything. Also, speed is important slow speed + low weight > high speed and high weight. Yes, you can lift more at a higher speed, but then you're cheating yourself by using momentum to lift the weight, not your actual strength. Someone who can lift a full range of motion with perfect form at a…

Clearly the OP missed some important information. 2 lbs per week is "possible for those with quite a lot to lose as it becomes harder the less you have to lose." 31 lbs is NOT a lot to lose. The best idea is to aim for 0.5% of your current body weight each week. If you're 200 lbs, that's 1 lb/week. If you're 150, that's…

I used to ride with a mirror all the time. Knowing exactly what is behind you and where they are is priceless. Unfortunately, I had to replace my helmet (it was a stick-on mirror) and I haven't found a replacement mirror I've been comfortable with. I plan on getting this mirror shortly after I upgrade my saddle and grips:…

120 psi? How heavy are you? That sounds like too much pressure, especially if you ride on rough surfaces from time to time. Aim to keep the pressure at a level that allows a bit of bulge where it contacts the road. It will actually reduce rolling resistance and allow the tire to form over small irregularities on the road.…

Don't do what anyone tells you to do. Everyone is just going to give you their opinion (unless they can legitimately back up their opinion with evidence to support it). Do your own homework. Do your own research. Find as much solid information as you can on the subject, then make your own informed decision on what you…

Updated to include the songs from Page 2.

Fiber doesn't have any calories in it?
-
A 200 calorie meal would only keep me full for about 30 minutes, then I'd be hungry again. Then again, I'm a relatively active 6' guy. I need the calories.
-
I would never in my life be able to make a meal out of 200 calories... >.>

Honestly, it has little to do with physical physique. I had very recently met a woman. She runs, she studied kinesiology, she plays basketball. She's very fit and is super cute. Me? I've got no muscle, I've got a pretty large gut, I'm 6' and 240 lbs and I'm the polar opposite of "photogenic". However, she's crazy about me.…

Dates in square form: This is a health and fitness site, so you must be talking about food. Besides, no one is pathetic enough to be going on a public forum to be asking for a date, are they?

Would you accept one in a square?
