I found a great chicken crock pot recipe on here about a month ago (wish I could find the source!): 2 lbs chicken breast 2 cans low sodium black beans (undrained) 1 - 16 oz jar of salsa 1 cup of uncooked rice Put it all in the crock pot for 8 hours and it is delicious! Works great as a meal on it's own or you can use it…

I do a lot of freezer to crock pot meals (some great ideas here: http://whoneedsacape.com/2012/11/crockpot-freezer-cooking/). I spend one Sunday a month going shopping and prepping all of our dinners and loading the freezer. Every morning I pull one out, put it in the crock pot and come home to a delicous meal! I've had to…

I definitely count my fruit calories, but I try not to worry about my sugars. I'm not diabetic and 90% of my sugar comes from natural foods (like fruit) so I'm not going to let it stres me out!

I started by just using smaller amounts of my favorite dressings. I worked it down to the fork-dipping method and now I'm at the point where I don't use dressing at all! I put about 1/4 of an avocado, meat (usually leftovers from the night before so it varies), 1 tbsp of dried cranberries and call it a day! It took a long…

Everyone will make you a chicken salad, just ask. I wouldn't leave a Mexican restaurant without a cup of tortilla soup too! Just be careful and make sure that whatever you eat fits into your macros (check the app under the table if you have to)

Thanks you guys. Now I'm craving!!

Not the Temptations, but I eat sugar free jello pudding almost every night! The Boston Cream Pie is my favorite right now.

Every morning after my workout I make the following shake. It is so good that I actually crave it! 1 banana 1 cup mixed berries (blue, black and rasp) 1 scoop chocolate protein powder 1-2 cups water (work on this to get the consistency you like)

I also noticed a huge difference not just cutting down on carbs but gluten specifically. It has made a HUGE difference for me.

Be careful. Personally, when I added coconut oil to my diet it caused me to start gaining weight again. I took it out again and got me back on track. Everyone's different so you'll just have to try for yourself. You can usually find it at Trader Joe's, btw.

Congrats on being cancer free!! But please do not believe that "once you get on your right dosage you'll be able to lose weight just fine". I've been hypothyroid for over 10 years now and that's rarely the case. Keep in contact with your doctor and keep having your levels checked. My dosage gets adjusted at least once a…

I try not to bring it up but if someone asks what I'm doing, I tell them (being honest with myself about what I'm actually eating by tracking it, lots of cardio and heavy lifting). That usually stops the conversation right there. I do get funny looks every once in a while when we all go out and they are all devouring…

Oh this! My husband and I are taking my mom out for dinner tonight and all she wants is Chinese food! There's no real way to guess what your calorie count is going to be as most Chinese food is cooked by hand (at least around here) and totally reliant on the cook's hand that day. I stay away from fried stuff (sorry, no egg…

Not only is the quality important, but the TYPE of salmon you're buying makes a huge difference. Alaskan vs. Sockey vs. Atlantic... There are others I'm sure but that's what I see at the store around here. I prefer Atlantic. I spray a little EVOO with my Misto sprayer, add garlic powder, onion powder, parsley and lemmon…

I did my W5D3 20 minute straight today... I was super nervous going in to it. But honestly, I just slowed it down a bit in the beginning until I was sure that I'd last the whole 20 minutes and I did it! I only got about a mile in those 20 minutes (which is half of what my app told me to do) but I lasted 20 minutes…

I'm up at 4:30 to work out. 3 days a week I run at the gym and the other 3 days I do workouts at home. I CAN'T drink coffee first. If I do my heart races too fast and I get dizzy. I wear sweats and a tank top to bed, so on the days I work out at home, I get up, put on my sports bra and shoes and head downstairs. It gets…

To be fair, I am convinced that I conform 100% of the time.... but so is my husband. That can't be right. So we must both be compromising.

This is what I do (minus the salt in the garlic powder  )! I also let the juices from whatever meat I'm using as protein get in there a little bit for moisture.

I had this happen when I switched to mornings too. I am eating enough (and eating back my exercise calorie) but I'm still struggling. I find that if I drink more water or throw some gum in my mouth the feeling of "hunger" usually goes away.

I used to. Then my 85 lb pit jumped between me and a big scary truck (trying to save me from it of course) and I tripped and sprained my ankle. I took some time off (obviously) and during my down time, my non-running husband would put him on a leash and jump on his skateboard and let the dog pull him around the…

You ladies are my inspiration! I'm not preggers yet, but I'm trying to get myself down to a manageable weight before we start trying later next year. Good luck to you all and congratulations!!

I'm doing Week 5 for the second time right now. Last time, when I got to day 3 I completely flipped out (mentally) and jumped to Week 6 Day 1 lol The thought of running 20 mins straight is freezing me up. I'm going to give it my best this week though!

I started Week 5 for the second time today. I had a huge mental block on Week 5 Day 3 last time and started jumping around and doing days as I please. I'm buckling down and going to do it right this time, even if it means I have to repeat this week over and over again. My husband and I are doing a mud run in April so I…

I agree. Personally, I'm not at all consistent with my workouts so I use the MFP estimates and eat back most of my exercise calories (only "most" because I don't have a HRM and don't fully trust the MFP estimates). This works for me because on the days I work out harder, I'm hungrier and since I worked out, I get to eat…

For lunch I make a quick salad, just lettuce, avocado and whatever protein I have left over from dinner the night before. If I don't have any left over, I slice up a serving of sliced turkey breast. BUT I also have apple slices, baby carrots, 60 cal jell-0, almonds, and cherry tomatoes. None of these extras will throw me…

Everything stayed but in moderation. EXCEPT ranch dressing... when I think of the gallons of this stuff I used to consume it makes me sick. I tried to moderate my consumption but something about dipping fries in the delicious creamy-ness makes the common sense part of my brain shut down and I gobble it all up. The fries…

I have been told that you should eat 300 cals above your maintenance during pregnancy and 500 above during breastfeeding. I have no first hand knowledge in how this works, though. Just getting my learning in before the time comes. Good luck!

Energy was a big thing for me too! Especially since my two favorite things to do are sleeping and playing video games. But once I got my diet worked out (proper nutrition) and started getting to the gym regularly, I started feeling naturally more energetic. Now, if I miss a day at the gym it sets the tone for a pretty…

This sounds like I want to try it... but I'm not sure.

^~~~ This. I also use it in place of salad dressing. Or throw some bay shrimp salad in there. Or with a little tapatio. Oh how I love avocados.
