I LOVE your avatar... That is all :glasses:

I quite about 5 years ago and my husband quit about 3 months ago.... We basically just took out our stress on each other!

They have almond butter at your Costco? Jealous! I have to swing by the regular grocery store on my way home to grab almond butter and brown rice cakes.
-
I buy 90% of our groceries at Costco! - Flat of 5 dozen eggs - 2 gallons of whole milk (for my hubby's brittle/healing bones) - Bags of mixed frozen veggies - Fresh veggies when my faves are in season - Bags of chicken breasts - Ground Turkey - Oatmeal - Marcona Almonds (AMAZING if you haven't tried them) - Greek Yogurt -…

I have goals and allow myself a treat meal upon meeting those goals.

Because I see the benefits in both, I do both lol. I do 5X5 with my husband 3 times a week in the mornings and more of a 3X10 program with my trainer 2 times a week in the evenings. That along with 3-4 times a week of cardio (steep incline, 45 minutes) has seen a dramatic improvement in both my body shape and strength.

In 3 months I hope to be at maintenance! Only 10ish pounds to go. And in a year I hope to have a bun in the oven! That's what all of this is for...

Okay ladies, serious question about getting started. My husband and I are going to start lifting together and I thought this would be a great way for us to get started. The question is, neither of us are new to lifting. He's been doing it on and off for years and I've been doing group boot camp style classes for a couple…

Thank you!! I've been telling my husband all week that I'm going try to figure out how to make something with my oatmeal and egg whites this weekend. Trying this!

Depends on the mood... I keep Frank's Red Hot Buffalo Wing Sauce, Tapatio and Sriracha in my fridge at all times!

I have almost identical pain/numbness in my left hip. I find that if I do a nice deep stretch every night before bed it helps; but I still go to my Chiropractor. I'm lucky enough to have one in the family so I'm not worried about having to do any research or getting caught up with quacks. I'd definitely talk to friends and…

Exactly. I walk on a treadmill at an incline for cardio; please don't tell me that I'm burning as many calories as the folks holding on for dear life. This is also why I use a pre-workout drank before lifting...without a little boost, those 5 PM sessions are useless!

I've eaten the same thing (cooked differently sometimes, but the same foods) every day for 6 weeks... down 12 lbs. I prep and portion all of my food on Sunday and then I can just grab and go all week.: Breakfast: 1 packet of oatmeal; 4 egg whites Snack 1: 2 oz ground turkey and 20 almonds Lunch: 4 oz chicken breast; .5 cup…

I read somewhere the Guinness is the lowest calorie full flavor beer which is fine by me! I also found an Oatmeal Stout at my local market that's 150 cals for the whole 20 oz bottle. I pour about half of a bottle in a pint glass (almost full) and enjoy it. It's usually enough for me and I enjoy the other half the next…

This morning I weighed myself at work and was 174 lbs. If we log into the computer connected to the scale it will keep track of our weight for us but the computer was down so I went back to my desk for about 45 minutes, went back to the scale and weighed again; 172 lbs. During that 45 minutes I drank a cup of coffee and…

When 2 days later you discover muscles you didn't know you had because now they are on FIRE!

I'm an Android Fanboy, but other than that I'm not particular to any one brand/model. I gave my husband the following advice last month: Stick to Samsung or Motorolla. Do NOT get suckered into a Windows based system or Blackberry. Make sure that they have all of the accessories you desire for your model (for him…

Yea, I eat a lot of egg whites, chicken, turkey and protein supplement. Fish is a great source of fiber but can be high in calories... I miss fish lol
-
I am absolute ravenous after my workouts! I have to have a protein shake as soon a I get home, otherwise I'll make some poor food choices. That's just me though.

I did the TDEE thing when I started back doing weight training and regular work outs and I lost 2 lbs in 2 months. I talked to my trainer and she basically put me on the diet she eats when she's traininer for a fit competition and once I'm at goal she'll help me slowly get back to a maintenance way of eating. My diet says…

Throw them on the BBQ. That's it. Seriously, you'd be amazed. If it's not so fresh, I spray a little EVOO on there and add a pinch of sea salt but that's about it. It is amazing!

I made a pact with myself 4 years ago that I wouldn't eat anywhere with a Drive Through.... While I've held mostly true to that, I will splurge on an In and Out Protein Style Double Meat No Cheese every once in a while (like once or twice a year). After not eating any of it for so long and cooking everything from scratch…

My trainer has me on a high protein diet right now: Egg whites, ground turkey, chicken, greek yogurt, whey protein powder and more chicken! That's not all I eat but that's where the protein comes from.

I WAS in this place. I finally sucked it up and paid my trainer to work out a meal plan with me. It SUCKS but it's working. She's going to work with me until I make my goal and then help me to "normalize" my eating again. I lost 4 lbs in the first week (after seeing only 2 lbs in 2 months) and expect a good number again…
-
And it did! Congrats! You look amazing. Keep it up!
-
Nevermind.... she fixed it :-)

My latest obsession is a bunch of ice in my Ninja blender (cuz it really DOES turn it into snow) and throw in a small hunk of watermelon. So good!!

I was raised this way too. A meal isn't meal without the starch (and bread, but that's another story). I just started making more veggies. I'll have some BBQ chicken breast and 8 asparagus spears instead of 4. It's not easy to get your brain around it at first, and I still wake up "feeling hungry" sometimes. but it gets…

Stretch it out and keep it moving. I get these randonm spot muscle pains from time to time and my trainer always gives me this advice. If you can push through the pain on your next workout (assumming you haven't actually injured anything), you'll thank yourself for it later.

What's absurd is people expecting the government to dictate how much of something I can buy. I do my own grocery shopping thank you, I don't need Uncle Sam to approve of it.
