  • Congrats!!! You did awesome! I live in SouthWest Ohio (Cincinnati) and I've heard about Bridge Day several times. I've rafted down the New River. Rafting the Gauley River on Bridge Day and watching all those brave souls jump off is DEFINITELY on my bucket list!!!
  • I would tell her, "Seriously? You think you're fat now?! You're 145lbs! Just wait, in 10 years you'll be 55lbs heavier and will be working your *kitten* off to see 145 again."
  • Anything by David Guetta! I listen to the David Guetta station on Pandora when I run 5k's. All the music has a quick driving beat that keeps me going. Plus sometimes I realize that I'm half dancing/half running hahaha.
  • LOL this thread is funny. My goal weight is actually my drivers license weight. I've never changed my weight ever since I got my first license at 16 (12 years ago) lol. At my heaviest last year I was 198. Now I'm 170 and my license weight says 140.
  • Yes!!! I actually read an article that people can taste cilantro one of two ways. It either tastes fresh and light or like soap. It's actually more rare for people to taste it like soap. It has something to do with what enzymes your body has or something like that. All I know is my mom and I taste soap, my dad and brother…
  • I first noticed it in my neck of all places. I realized it one day when I was playing indoor soccer. I wear a necklace that my mom gave me several years ago all the time (even in the shower, while working out, or swimming). I was running to the ball in our game and I realized that my necklace was flopping around a lot more…
  • My best NSV yet occurred last night. I've been running 10-15miles a week for the last 2 1/2 months. I'm really seeing a lot of progress in how my mile times (and my weight) are dropping. My best friend has decided to try to start running with me. Last night we went out planning to do at least 3miles. At about .75 miles she…
  • Congrats! I just started running 5k's in August. I love running 5k's because they all benefit some sort of organization and the atmosphere is so much fun! I have ran 6 of them so far. Each time I set a goal time right before the race, and every time I have hit it. I just registered to do a 5k mud run on 10/27. I'm really…
  • I'm in for this! My goal is 20 hours in October. I've been trying to run 10-15 miles a week. I usually run 3-4 miles at a time. My times are getting faster so I'll probably end up running more but in less time. So because of that, my goal is just 20 hours of cardio for October.
  • They usually call it either Spaghetti Squash or Winter Squash at the store. It's usually about the same size and shape of an American Football... only it's yellow. Hope this helps you find it easier! I had spaghetti squash for dinner and leftovers for lunch today. I usually make mine in the microwave. I will pierce a BUNCH…
  • I tried one the other day just for the helluv it. Costco sells individual serving size bags on freeze dried fruit. I was trying to come up with a way to use the apples, strawberries, and bananas in a smoothie. I also bought some Dannon Cherry Greek yogurt that I wasn't a huge fan of because the fruit chunks were too big.…
  • I don't think I could ever buy a pair of shoes online without trying them on in person first.
  • Are there any Running stores around you? Here in Cincinnati we have a chain of about 4 stores that specialize in running gear. When I started running I went in totally clueless and had them fit me. They asked me what type of running/walking I was going to be doing, if I have any medical issues with my legs or feet, watched…
  • I'm in for this! I know it started yesterday. Maybe I'll do a few extra today to make up for it :)
  • Most of the time doctors will NOT do any sort of bariatric surgery (lap band, bypass, or sleeve) unless the patient has a BMI over 45. However, if you have another health condition that technically classifies you as being morbidly obese such as diabetes, hypertension, etc. then they will do it if you have a lower BMI…
  • I think there have been a couple threads on this already. But I think the answer is yes, most people's bra size will go down. Think about it, the number part of your bra size is the measurement around your body under your ta-ta's. If you lost back fat and upper belly fat, that measurement will go down, and thus the number…
  • I also have a nice curvy booty. I started running 10-15 miles a week about a month ago. I've already noticed it's getting nicer. It's lifted but still keeping a nice curvy shape. I think if you do lower body exercises, you'll still keep your butt. Also lunges and squats are AWESOME to get a nice butt.
  • First thing, GO TO THE DOCTOR! No one on MFP can diagnose your problems without seeing you. On another note, try looking up signs and symptoms of gall bladder disease (cholecystitis). It's fairly common (especially in women) to have gall stones after losing a lot of weight. It's also an easy surgical fix with minimal…
  • Wow! You look so much younger now! Congrats! If you don't mind me asking, what was your starting and your current weight. I'm also 5'4" and feel like I'm built a lot like you (curvy up top, but not terribly hippy). I'd like to think that I'll look as great as you after 45lbs gone!
  • Cincinnati here. Wow look at all these Ohioans!!!! Can I get an O-H!?
  • This is EXACTLY what I was going to say. I love the Champion brand bras. I buy the 2 pack from Costco. I also buy them a size small so they smush me more. I'm 5'4" at 185lbs with a very full 38D. According to the package I SHOULD wear the XL size in the Champions. I buy the L size and they work great!
  • I tried Sensa for a couple weeks. I agree with all the above posts. I definitely alters the taste of your food (even though it claims it doesn't), it's hard to remember every time, and I'm very skeptical about it. I feel like it probably works by the "placebo effect". It claims you will lose weight by tricking your brain…
  • I'm 5'4" with a bigger frame. I was always extremely athletic in school. When I was at my most active and in the best shape I was about 140lbs (I was also 16 lol). I'm 28 now. The biggest I got was 198lbs. That's when I realized that I needed to get back down to a weight where I don't feel like a sausage in my clothes. I'm…
  • Aside from all the things that everyone else mentioned, one of my very favorite things to buy there is their frozen Edamame. I can't remember the brand right now but it comes in a big orange bag with 6 smaller bags inside. It's great to put in salads, sautee with other veggies, or just eat them as a snack. When I'm sitting…
  • Try the Fiber One Brownies. They have one that is chocolate peanut butter flavor. They're really tasty and 90 calories each. They've got an added bonus of lots of fiber to help you feel fuller longer. It's a great way to get just a little something to satisfy the sweet craving.
