  • From September through December of 2013 I lost 30 lbs. I've since gained it all back and then a couple more. I'm ready to get back into it and lose that 30lbs for GOOD this time. So I'm in! SW: 193lbs on 3/17/17 CW: 189lbs on 3/23/17 GW: 163 on 7/1/17
  • I just found an awesome recipe on pinterest for tuna salad zucchini boats. I made them for dinner the other night. It was soooo yummy! Also, there's no mayo in it! Although, I did add some cubed avocado to mine just because I love them so much haha https://nichelleleychefjd.wordpress.com/2014/12/15/tuna-melt-zucchini-boats/

  • I had mine removed one year ago tomorrow (yay happy anniversary! haha). For the first couple of months after the surgery I just kept a low fat diet and was good. I found that reduced fat graham crackers were a godsend as far as snacking goes. I ate plenty of veggies and rice. One thing that really made me have to run to…
  • I've recently cut out beer and turned to rum instead haha. A Captain and Diet with lime is only 86 calories :)
  • I always use almond milk for smoothies/shakes. I get the reduced sugar vanilla Almond Breeze or the one with a touch of honey in it. It's only 60calories per cup. I really like smoothies with banana, almond milk, a little ice (to add thickness) and a spoonful of peanut butter (also ups the protein). Sooooooo good.
  • Have they done any tests to check your gallbladder? It can show up as so many different weird symptoms. I had symptoms for 2 years before I realized what it was. I was horribly irregular, bloated, and the most random things would give me heartburn. I could eat oatmeal or yogurt and get heartburn. Finally last February…
  • Yes! Can't wait! I hope I get an owl! Anyone else in the Philadelphia area running the Firebolt 5k on October 17th at the Harry Potter festival in Chestnut Hill?
  • I just ran my first half marathon on Sunday 5/5/13. I usually run to techno-ey music. I can search by BPM and keep things upbeat so that even if I'm dragging, I can say to myself "as long as I just run to the beat, I'll be ok". One of my favorite songs is called "Greyhound" by Swedish House Mafia. It's kind of up and down…
  • Oh and if you want to try guacamole again, my dad has the BEST and easiest guacamole recipe ever!!! Here's the recipe on his blog: http://www.gabbygeezer.com/recipes/good-guacamole-starts-with-ripe-guacamole-berries
  • I eat them for breakfast also that way. I'll slice half an avocado, sprinkle it with some garlic salt, and just eat it like that. I also like to make tuna salad with them. I'll take a can of tuna, half an avocado cubed, a teeny amount (maybe a teaspoon full) of mayo just to make the texture smoother, some chopped celery,…
  • I'm on my 2nd pair of Saucony Triumph 9's. I just ran my first half marathon on Sunday and had no foot problems, blisters, or shin splints at all. I did have a little bit of knee and hip pain after the race, but that's because I know I've got some knee issues, but (like an idiot) was putting off seeing the orthopedist…
  • I'm an inverted triangle also! I love this thread! When I was younger and skinny, my mom always said I had a "Swimmer's build" because I had broad shoulders and narrow hips. I've also got big ta-ta's which didn't help make me look any thinner once I did start gaining weight. I had considered a breast reduction to make me…
  • I'm indestructible. I'm 28 and have never broken a bone. I've fallen off horses. I played just about every sport I could growing up (including ice hockey). I have crashed my motorcycles more times than I can count on my hands. The last wreck I had was going 50mph into a guardrail. The guys riding behind me said that I…
  • Both my grandparents on my mom's side were Holocaust Survivors from Auschwitz.
  • Why wouldn't your doctor go ahead and recommend the surgery now? Why do you want to suffer? Not that I'm a huge advocate for surgery, but cholesystectomies are very easy with quick recovery times now days. When you have gallstones, the only surefire way to improve the situation is to remove your gallbladder. I don't think…
  • I haven't checked it out, only heard about it from my running shop, but I hear there's an app that judges your running form. I think it was called "The Coach's eye". You set up your phone camera to watch you run (obviously you need a friend to help) and it tells you how to improve. Has anyone used this?
  • I completely agree! I have been craving a Chipotle burrito for a week or so. The burrito (with the tortilla which is what I was craving), the way that I get it is 880 calories. Check out my diary for today. I ate a light breakfast and lunch, ran 3.5 miles, ate my burrito, and still have a couple hundred calories left over…
  • That's very awesome! I love to motivate other runners while I'm running. I'm a big fan of giving another runner a *high five* when we pass. I especially love doing this to a.) people who are bigger and obviously just starting to work out, b.) people who are really huffing and puffing, c.) People running with their dog (I'm…
  • I'm about to go run 3.5 and walk 3.5! You should go with me. I'm gonna change my clothes and put my shoes on, then I'm out the door. Let's go!!!!
  • I took a class like this at my local running shop. My biggest issue was that I was taking too large of a stride. I'm 5'4" with stubby legs, so I was striking on my forefoot, but my foot was so far out in front of my body and no where near my center of balance. Obviously I was over compensating haha. Now, I run with a…
  • I'm so scared. I'm buying a house and I close in 3 weeks. My new house is literally 1 minute from Trader Joe's in my area. I could walk there easily. I'm afraid I'm going to go completely broke! I loooooooooooooooooooooooooove TJ's. I'm single and live alone, so their pre-made meals are fantastic. Also I love ALL the…
  • I've had 3 different doctors recommend that I take magnesium. My GI doc said it's great to keep me regular for my IBS. My gyno said it's great for monthly related headaches, fatigue, and cramping. My neurologist said it's great for migraines. With that being said. The only vitamins I take are B12 and a combination pill of…
  • I love Zumba, but I think a lot of it depends on your instructor. I've done Zumba on the Wii, DVD's, and have gone to several different classes with different instructors. I much prefer live classes. It's easier to stay with the instructor in the live class. Also, it's just more fun when everyone is clapping and yelling…
  • Add 6.4 miles for me today 11/22/12
  • I saw someone post this the other day and I love it! It doesn't matter what you eat between Thanksgiving and Christmas. It matters what you eat between Christmas and Thanksgiving!
  • I agree. I have friends that have both sets of DVD's. They're going to make copies for me. and/or let me borrow them for as log as I need to.
  • Hola nueva amiga! Me encanta Espana! I visited spain about 12 years ago on a school trip. We visited Madrid, Toledo, Seville, Costa del Sol, Malaga, and then spent a day on Gibraltar. Some day I will go back. I love everything about Spain. My parents are moving to Costa Rica in a couple years. Even though some things are…
