I think that forgiveness is often confused with excusing someone else's bad behaviour. That becomes a stumbling block. Forgiveness is more about releasing your anger at someone instead of letting it steer the way you deal with every other human being from that moment on. (I was hurt once doing this, I will never do this…

Hi, I can't speak to a lot of what you have said, but I think I can explain the cucumber vs. pickles thing. I get a throat reaction to some fresh fruits (blueberries, strawberries) that I used to think was because of pesticides, then I thought was alergies to the food itself. But I never had a problem with the foods when…

I read a great quote on forgiveness just the other day: "Resentment is like taking poison and hoping your enemy will die." (Nelson Mandela) (Takes a minute... think about it...so true!!!)

hahahah... I thought we were the only ones that did that! We called it the "happiness plug", because when it fell out, all the happiness would leak out:smile:

Thanks for your suggestions:smile: I would love to work with a video, but I have never been able to find one that is simple enough and slow enough for a beginner. I have always been uncoordinated, so I really need things spelled out for me about how to move without injury, too.

So, aside from walking, and riding a stationary bike, could you suggest some fitness activities for a beginner that can be done at home? I suffer from sore knees when I try to run. I garden and chop wood, but I need to find some higer-calorie burning exercises that won't result in injury. I am in my late 40's and not the…

For me, I know I can't really enjoy "playing" until my "work" is done. I have an uneasy feeling, knowing that there is some impending doom of having to take care of something. This is easily enough to motivate me to take care of my work first. Then, the rest of my time is mine, guilt free.

Come on, you guys! I bet this stuff is great for things like a tomato sandwich (to taste like a BLT) or on a low-cal hamburger! I don't think we can get it here, but I would give it a shot!

This is fantastic, thank you! What a great way to put things in perspective. It took me a minute to realize that they are ordered by weight - from the things you can eat the most of to the smallest. :flowerforyou:  :flowerforyou:  :flowerforyou:

Questions: 1. How do you cook your sweet potato? 2. What do you do with the garlic in oil? I use a lot of garlic, but have never roasted them. Thanks:smile:

Whole grains are not as sweet as refined - there is more natural fibre and other content that is not as "tasty" - so more sugars and fats are often added to improve the taste. It's great that you are checking the labels. A similar thing happens with "fat free" products - they usually make up and sometimes exceed the…

Hmm, good ideas. I just bought an oil "mister" bottle that is my new best friend. I have a solvent alergy, and the PAM spray uses propane as a propellent. So the olive oil in my mister is a fantastic switch for me. Foods I keep on hand: WASA rye crackers eggs Source yougurt home-made no-fat bran muffins Fibre 1 cereal…
