  • so after no alcohol yesterday I read this article in the newspaper, the online version is here http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2164222/Two-glasses-wine-day-middle-aged-adults-makes-life-better.html and I had a glass of wine to celebrate :-)
  • yeah that's my drinking arm, lift glass up, put glass down, lift glass up ........ :drinker:
  • yep I do too, I give in to it and so far it has had a positive effect rather than a negative one.
  • I've been drinking loads lately so I feel justified in calling myself a lush again, how is everyone doing and what have I missed?
  • ...and I was thinking maybe it was just me who put as much effort into keeping my bladder under control when doing double unders as I do into actually jumping over the rope :ohwell:
  • good job, I think I'll always be a work in progress when it comes to building muscle :-)
  • <--- a quick snap. That side tricep pose is not one you can do and take the photo yourself, nice link though, thanks for that.
  • When I was doing a lot of push ups I found my wrists and hands were a lot more comfortable when I used my pull up bar that also doubles as a rest/stand for push ups. You can buy pairs of push up stands, you may find they help.
  • right well I'm off to bed for a kip-per .....and that really was trawling the depths to come up with that one.
  • sort it trout, someones gonna snapper head off soon
  • it's no good, she's not herring what you're saying
  • you must be squidding, low crab, no way
  • I hate having to leave the gym and go back home again, I love that focusing on working out means I forget all the other stuff going on in my life for a while.
  • Hmm we don't have that here in the UK. I did think possibly not the best pic for me to have up on a board like this after I posted. Btw that was the start to some lovely bruises, they've gone brown today (just in case you thought I had some yucky disease judging by the name of that cream!) I would take you for a coffee to…
  • Hire you as my personal shopper, I hate shopping!
  • That's a great point you make about perseverance. I remember when I felt like I was never going to manage a pull up but I got there in the end. I'm going to keep plugging away at the handstand holds for now just to get used to being upside down. I am too impatient sometimes.
  • Dear Doritos, never fear somebody loves ya, in fact I have a date with you tomorrow night, it's gonna get hot because it's jalapeno fire flavour for me
  • wow awesome (and I'm jealous!) how long have you been working on them?
  • Oh my, I read this completely wrong the first time and I thought it was a confession......
  • to be honest it would depend what your aim/goal is
  • I'm not a vegetarian but one of my favourite low carb meals at the moment is stuffed mushrooms, I usually use a meat based mixture but that could easily be omitted, or a meat sub such as quorn used. You need the large open cup mushrooms, and remove the stalks and scrape out the brown gills, you can add these bits to make…
  • I'm on a roll with CFV's at the moment, I'm still new to CF so obviously I'm still in the initial steep learning curve but in the last couple of weeks I've learned the technique for clean and jerk, and snatch, just need to work on upping the weight on those now. Plus I learned double unders, not doing so well on them but…
  • Hi there, glad to see you are finding mfp so useful. I have been on here a couple of years and I love it and the great friends I've made. I wish you every success in reaching your goals, if you are looking for friends then please feel free to add me.
  • As suggested above bodybuilding.com is a great resource, you will find plans there written by Jamie Eason and also details of her nutrition plan. IMO a good place to start is this http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/womans_lean_sexy_bible.htm and then go on to look at some of the nutrition plans. Best of luck with your goal…
  • I make little quiches and baked omelettes in muffin cases too. Also as above, up your veggie intake, so that you are eating protein with a ton a veggies, I get really full like this. Cauliflower has become one of my staples, mashed with a little butter and milk instead of potatoes, or cooked and chopped in place of rice, I…
  • Drank far too much last night, didn't even log it all. Felt rubbish this morning for my gym trip but stayed on the treadmill to run 5k instead of my usual 5 minute warm up. I'm sure there's a link as last time I had that strange urge was after a night of heavy drinking, The alcohol must have still been affecting my head as…
  • Thanks, yeah my 'diet' involves alcohol too :-)
  • I am happy for friend requests from anyone who wants to add me, it's always nice to have more weight training friends. I lift 2-3 times a week, full body, currently moved to a 5x5 type programme as a basic, I cycle 5 days a week and am also dabbling with some crossfit WOD's and the skills that go with them. As for diet…
  • I sooo want to start a thread complaining about people complaining about people complaining about people complaining...... but life is just to short
  • Hah this week has a food/alcohol link going on. Tonight's dinner was steak in peppercorn sauce, it was just crying out for a glass of red (or 2) to go with it, how could I refuse? :drinker:
