Well done, that's a great achievement, I agree with the other posters than the change in your tummy is really noticeable. It would be interesting to see your progress in another month if you decided to redo it. Keep up the good work

Agreed. I've lost a little bit of weight without really trying, but I've developed a taste for dark chocolate. I have been eating more food so if I add alcohol back in without reducing the amount of food to compensate I will end up going over calories. I haven't noticed any health benefit as I was a fairly moderate drinker…

On another thread I spotted a recipe for protein pancakes, which was purely protein powder, vanilla extract, egg, milk and baking powder, I've played with the recipe and I make chocolate topped choc-orange protein cupcakes now, I had some for my lunch. They are firmer than standard sponge but still tasty.

 or ummm not it seems, I guess that tactic didn't work

I am limited to some extent by lower back issues but was finally able to start dead lifting a few months back. I love my upper body since I started lifting so I'm hoping my lower body will start to catch up now I can do more. I can dead lift my body weight and am keen to see progress. I was introduced to one arm rotational…

carrot sticks are great one for me as I like to nibble when I'm studying. You could always get a treadmill or step in front of the TV, burn off some calories whilst watching, and then eat your snacks too

From your post it sounded to me like your daughter already has said that she wants to lose weight and you wanted to support her, although judging by other replies maybe I got that wrong as they are more concerned with her having to decide for herself and you not pushing her. You say she is mainly sedentary so putting aside…

Well done you. I'm up to 25 days with 3 more to go. Most days I've been fine, only missed alcohol seriously when I've been cooking a meal that would usually go really well with wine. This weekend has been a test though as I have been surrounded by beer drinkers, I caught myself sniffing at bottle, darn it smelled good!!

and me

Welcome Rick, I'm lurking down in Surrey. I've found mfp great and am sticking with it despite reaching my goal weight as it's helping me maintain and work on new fitness goals. I wish you luck in reaching your goals, I'm sure you will meet many great people on here as I have, feel free to add me if you'd like.

Yeah I took it as a nice intention too. Refreshing to see a post that set out to be nice with the nastiness and negativity that seems to be going round on the forums now. .... Although the bit about the boobies was funny  Personally I feel happier to be a bit anonymous on here, although I now have a pic that does…

Happy Friday lushes, have a good weekend :drinker:

And my first thought was "that's exactly the look I'm aiming for" Strong, athletic, slim and in my opinion not too skinny, feminine and darn right attractive. Happily for me I am on track for that and secure enough that ultimately it's how I feel about myself that matters, and boy do I feel a lot happier now I'm stronger…

Now when the title said bizarre sight at the gym, I was immediately taken back to my distressing experience a couple of weeks ago when an older man walked in wearing VERY tight lycra (budgie smuggling) leggings, it was not a good look! Even worse, when I was stretching on the mats I didn't realise he'd walked over and was…

Jeez, you know since I've given up alcohol this month I have felt more unwell than I have done in ages. It must be the lack of alcohol allowing the germs to flourish instead of killing them off

Hey lovely lushes, just checking to see you're all doing fine. Nothing to report here, still no alcohol for feb and I've only got just over a week to go  Might have to forgo my lovely trainers as a reward though as I've had a couple of unexpected bills come in. Well they were only unexpected as I'm pretty…

Wolf, what a cutie, what breed is he/she? I may be doing well with the no alcohol thing, but as always when my alcohol consumption goes down, my chocolate intake goes up, so I don't think I really gain anything!
-
I was drooling at the thought of a cocktail though...... Robin, she is such a cutie, absolutely adorable. Chloe, enjoy your wine, have 1 for me please Socal, I'm effin jealous about your effin vodka, enjoy (and of course have 1 for me)

Day 15 of no alcohol  Had a bottle of wine waved under my nose yesterday "just in case I wasn't that serious about sticking to no alcohol for the month seeing as it was valentines day" but I said no to it :noway:
-
Crazycat, well done from me too, it is lovely to hear you are feeling more positive and seeing such great results.
-
and the best cure for that is to have some more alcohol
-
Day 11, still no alcohol (except a little red wine for flavouring with a beef dish but that doesn't count!). When I was at the gym last I noticed my 'swooshes' were peeling off my trainers so I think I might reward myself at the end of the month with new trainers if I manage to stick to it
-
thanks
-
Glad to hear she is doing so well, I hope her recovery is smooth. Must have been such a stressful time for you, enjoy your wine and relax a bit now x
-
Oh no, I'm sure there's someone who will take that as a challenge :frown:
-
Amen

Amy, that sounds like a superb dessert, hope you had a great birthday. I'm on day 8 of no drinks, it's been pretty easy so far as I've not been feeling great so haven't wanted to eat much either. Although I'm having a pretty stressful time at work at the moment, I got interviewed by a team of outside consultants today who…

Day 5 no drinks, I like reading about all the super lushy exploits in here though, feel like I'm getting my alcohol vicariously through you :drinker:
