I'm in Australia so the dollar amounts will not be comparative anyway, but I have found a couple of things that help reduce our budget are: - Making a meal plan for the week and sticking to it. This might include a night where I make a meal that will last for two nights (Soup, Lasagne, pasta bake, etc) I don't always do…

What foods are you eating? You could swap some of them for less calorie dense foods that you can eat more of? A lot of vegetables have barely any calories so you could eat quite a bit of it compared to some foods. You could eat a whole lot of cucumber instead of a tub of yoghurt (even low fat!) Also, drinking water with…

Berries are AWESOME during that time. Yoghurt is great too (I find that full-fat stuff helps with cramps as well) Otherwise, only buy single-serve type chocolate treats - and only ONE when you want it. DOn't have it in the house waiting for you - and add it into your daily calories. I will sometimes cave for a kinder…

Fellow Australian - only buy the ones that are 100% peanuts. We switched to organic peanut butter with no additives/other ingredients and when we tasted the 'normal stuff' (Think Kraft/Homebrand) - all we could taste was salt and sugar. Basically it's like cookie dough! Sanitarium does an ok priced peanut-only peanut…

I think the fact that you both read the 'self help' relationship books is a good sign already. I think that relationships will work out better when both people are open to dealing with any problems they have as a couple. My partner and I feel that we are a 'team' and approach our issues in life together. I'm not really…

I don't personally think that hall passes are a good idea - and definitely not a 'need' You're getting married because you both want to spend the rest of your lives together, your friend's suggestions are totally inappropriate.

I didn't like exercise, but mostly because I found it really boring. It changed when I joined the gym and their treadmills had TVs on them :P My partner and I would walk/jog for ages when there was something interesting on. I don't have a membership anymore, but I still like going for walks/attempting jogging with my…

I try to only buy single-serve items for sweet treats because I have a problem with portion control. (Not as much as I used to, but it's better to make smarter choices :p) Single serve yoghurts - I eat the kid ones that come in the squirty things, and they're under 100 calories. Mini protein bars - I eat the Lo-Carb ones…

Please try and think that people have different life schedules that could mean they don't get the 3 meals & 2 snacks ideal a day. I know that on weekdays, because I'm up at 4am I have my breakfast split into 2 meals. I then have two afternoon snacks instead to take me to the evening usually. Depending on your bread, a…

Calories ARE created equal - it's a form of measurement. All food has a different nutrition value though and people should take that into account as well as calorie count. I think this is what you meant, but not how it was worded. I do think that little rants and putting your thoughts down is a good thing to do sometimes.…

Are you due for your period? I can gain up to 3 or 4 kilos when I'm due, sometimes it stays around for the week before and during, then starts going down at the end of my period. (It can make weekly weigh-ins a bit frustrating :P)

You burn more calories when you are breastfeeding. Much more than preparing a bottle of formula. Formula fed babies generally feed less often too. If you're not going to be helpful, why are you even commenting on a post that is explicitly asking for help.

I get up at 4am to get dropped off at work. I sleep at work until an hour or so before opening time. I work until 8pm - 9pm and then come home. We have dinner and my partner goes to bed. I then do housework and get out my wii and play Just Dance for up to half an hour. You really have to make the effort to make the time to…

Have you seen a personal trainer? They might have some ideas for you :)

I've had Shirataki noodles before. They do smell a little funky when you take them out of the packet, but I have a colander ready and rinse them really well. Once you add sauce or anything to them they just taste like the sauce, with no lasting smell :) I have added a jar of salsa and some vegetables and had them for lunch…

If I went to a restaurant and overheard any of what was said in the back, I would not be staying. I was watching another reality TV show where they were doing a service or something, and while they were talking to judges or people, I could hear the yelling in the background!

I only pay attention to calories, I don't bother with protein or anything like that. Vegetable soups would be good though, I guess. They're low calorie and very filling - especially great in colder weather :)
-
Tuna and pasta bakes are easy, and delicious. Just go easy on any cheese that you use, I guess :) I like to get the small tins that have flavours and mix it with a portion of cream cheese to make a nice dip. It's good for something different sometimes :)

I eat the Abbotts Bakery breads - they're not low calorie, but one slice is very filling :) I like them because they use a lot of wholegrains as well, and lower GI :) (I usually get one of the grain variations)

Comments like this make me wish there was some kind of upvote feature :p

Due to work hours, we go grocery shopping an hour before closing on a Tuesday night - there is USUALLY (not always) meat marked down for quick sale, and sometimes you can get a hot bbq chicken for half price :) There is sometimes markdowns on fruit and vegetables and dairy goods but not really that often. Regarding meat, I…

I do my exercise, except for the couple of days when I'm bleeding really heavily. It tends to get messy and is usually when I'm having my worst cramps. :)
-
Good on you for sticking it out this long :) I had a quick look in some of your diary entries for April and March and I think the most important thing that I see is that you don't seem to eat 'regularly' (some days no breakfast, some days no lunch etc, some days extra snacks like cookies & chocolate) I would suggest to try…

Are you also taking into account, difference in heights?

I can't laugh at this one, all I can think of is that he could have/did some awful damage to his back >_<

I thought diabetics ate Low GI? I also have PCOS, and do low GI and find it much more sustainable than low carb :) I do try to limit myself to one serve of bread a day, but it's lovely, grainy bread and very filling :)

I have gained up to 3ish kilos at times. It usually starts the week before and usually comes down a day or two before it ends. It sucks when I'm having irregular periods and can't take proper weight measurements! :p

Seeing the numbers go down is something that motivates me :)! Joining MFP was probably a good idea, I think it helps you to be more in control of what you're putting into your body because you realise how many calories everything has now. Inputting calories helps me maintain focus some days - I'm pretty lax at completing…

I don't keep ice cream or anything like that in the house, but I do sometimes NEEEEEEEEEED the chocolate. I usually go for single-serve chocolate bars, that way there isn't anything left over to tempt me. I do sometimes cave on my eating at that time as well though when I'm out of the house. I think last time I had a small…

School was the worst time for me. There aren't many teachers who seemed to understand at all, and I feel that the education system undervalues introverts. I have improved somewhat as I have gotten older, small things definitely helped my confidence. Getting my licence, getting a job, etc, however I still have panic attacks…
