  • Back to the origin of our names.....Diane was usually what I was called though I have been known to be called Di, odd and OhDD. My best friends dad started calling me odd, but his creative mind had me as one dimple Diane. Laugh now because I actually have 2. Middle name "Elizabeth" was my grandmothers name and I am sure…
  • Where is Marie located in the state of Texas ? Very concerned about the hurricane going on there and hope that she will be out of harms way. As for me I am nursing a thumb injuried 10 wks ago by closing it in a car door. Slow process trying to heal it; after my appt yesterday my orthopedist decided I needed to have my…
  • Well it sounds like finding the right shoes with good arch supports or inserts seems to be the stage most of us are into these days. My walking shoes are Sketchers though I do have 3 pr of Clarks...one similar to Buzzs the way my foot fits into it, which I am breaking in right now. Delightfully my feet are finally doing…
  • Just saying.....Anne you look like you are in your 50s. Anxious to see your new photo. And I too have frizzy kinky hair, but have to tame it with conditioner and coloring. Texture is too awful to deal with and I would be about all grey now though my mother was pure white at this age. 69...not a good yr for me. I really…
  • Sandy.....Thanks for the start date info. So in a nut shell I have lost 14 lbs since Oct 2011. Doesn't seem like much and it took me FOREVER, but I am still at that point so at least I didn't go back up. :):) And prior to MFP and Fitbit I never was able to lose wt, so I highly recommend both programs. New game plan...now…

  • Jackie....I have the Shark Rotator, which I love. However I have a toy poodle that doesn't shed, so I do not have to deal with animal fur. My friend got the larger model that is for Pets and she was very happy with it. I can tell you that on carpets this baby works wonderfully ! You will wonder where in the heck all of the…
  • Finally have gotten caught up on all of your messages. Have enjoyed catching up with everyone. I spent last Saturday at my nephews wedding, which was most unusual. • Wish I could answer your question directly, but I can't. However after living with hypothyroidism almost my whole life I finally have become successful with weight loss by using mfp and recording all of my food watching my carbs and sugars and eating lots of fruit, veggies, chicken and fish. Other than 1 slice of bread a…

  • Just dropping in to let you know I am back from our trip in our rv up to Sparks, Nv which is near Reno. Have a dr appt tomorrow…
  • Good afternoon Sneakers... Good to hear from you Marie and glad that you are getting all of the outside help that you need. I too think Meals on Wheels would be a great idea for you; its worth a phone call anyway. Glad you have lost 5 lbs and are elevating your legs. It seems to be a slow process, but take it a day at a…
  • Anne I love your story writing and just know that Patsy will provide some awesome drawings to go with your story. Who would have known you both could write a book together that children would love. Who doesn't love puppies ? Keep on sharing this because we are all curious now. Also remember they love counting books too, so…

  • I have had hypothyroid issues since I was a child. Periods of time where I was on meds and then taken off and lived with lots of symptoms for yrs. Finally had a dr that an took interest in me. In time I was put on Armour with an adjusted prescription. Fine until he retired and now we are regulating the prescription again.…
  • I too dropped may initial 15 lbs and have cleaned my diet up considerably. I was walking for 2 miles a day, which made me lose .4 lbs about every 10 days. All came to an abrupt halt with foot issues, which has me doing 3500 steps a day max. Still watching what I eat but unable now to lose any wt at all. Just up a bit and…

  • Not sure what to do at this point. Had been hyperthyroid so dr changed my dosage of Armour to 30 mg from 45mg though I felt great on 45. TSH now in the normal range and T3 and Free T4 are up a bit now out of the hyper range. Walk 5 to 6 days a wk for 2 miles and keep my cal between 1180 and 1200 which is what my fitbit…
  • Hello Sneakers.... So much going on with so many of you. Those bugs seem to have really gotten a hold of several of you. I hope that you all are almost over with them. It seems to have certainly been a miserable winter. Well our drought of 5 yrs seems to have come to an end. Today is the first day of sunshine in about 5…
  • I have been on Armour for about 1 1/2 yrs now. I was on 45 mg feeling great until 2 lab tests about 2 months apart had me going towards hyperthyroidism. After the second one I was changed to 30 mg, so I am in the waiting period to see how I am doing on it before my next lab work. Hard to make a change when I have done so…

My dog would be in heaven having all of that room to…
  • Enjoyed reading all about the family sewing machines, especially Annes since she still has the original receipt. I see those antique machines periodically being sold. Some of them really are in nice cabinetry, but wonder how functional they are these days. I used the large black Singer, which was electric that belonged to…
