Just finished Day 3 - My DVD arrived today so thankfully I had no dodgy internet connection to deal with. Finding the push-ups (the easy version!) and the bicycle crunches at the end terrible, but managing everything else much better. Funny, my abs haven't been hurting so I was doubting whether I was doing the ab exercises…

Yeh, right now I'm focussing on getting myself out of bed in the morning, lol! Ah no, really - if anyone is reading who hasn't started yet, it's just what you'd expect when you start asking your body to do stuff like this that is out of your normal range and by all accounts another few days should see us through it. I…

Hopefully this will link you to the group  http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/5617-starting-30-day-shred-may-2012

Yep, after 2 days you definitely start feeling like putting it off - but I just read a load of comments on another thread that say that by day 4 or 5 the pain goes. Can't wait. God I pray for her to count 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 at the end of each exercise, lol! Let us know how you get on outtanms.

Hi. We have just started up a group - Most of us are on day 1, 2 or starting very soon if anyone would like to join for support, motivation or a rant, lol. It's called Starting 30 Day Shred May 2012. I am on day 2 and yes SORE. Hurts when I walk up the stairs, but even worse coming down. I can't wait for day 4 or 5 when it…

I just set up a group and sent invites to you all. Please let me know if you don't get one - I may have typed an error in your username or missed someone on the list - See you there hopefully! Lets push each other through this!

I know how to set up a group so I will do that and send you all an invite. It might help by providing a central place to check in, motivate etc.
-
If anyone is doing this and would like to add me just send a request - better go to bed now (it's just gone midnight here) if I want to be able to do it again tomorrow. Please let me be able to walk in the morning!!! Night all.

Yeh, mine was on a tiny laptop today and I had to keep moving it up and down off a table when I stood up and lay down  I bought the dvd on Amazon yesterday so hopefully it will be here soon. I think that you just keep doing the one on youtube for 10 days...is that right? (or more if you need more time at it).

I just started today. Feeling it in my legs when I go up and down the stairs  I am working off the online free level 1 on youtube while waiting for mine to arrive in the post : ) I'll send you a friend request. I reckon we will all need motivation - I found it tough - but I have no previous workout experience. Best…

Thanks amv1023...sounds like me...the only weight I lifted was my kids, but we have progressed now to where I need to be able to run around after them too, lol! Your reply has really been very reassuring - thanks for taking the time to reply.

Hello  Can I ask if anyone started this feeling that they had poor levels of fitness and strength and how you found it - did you manage? I have just ordered it online. I am 46 and139lb and up to about a month ago did absolutely NO physical exercise at all. I bought a treadmill about a month ago and have been using…

How are you getting on? I just started this on monday - nervous, but desperate to shift this plateau. I am 140 lb too...stuck between 138 and 140

Hello! Can I ask a question please. I am currently trying to up my calorie intake. I have come to a very definite stall in losing weight so I am trying to understand all of this. When you say about the TDEE, BMR, etc....do you mean that the net figure should be your tdee. E.g. If my daily calories are set at 1350 but my…

Happy Birthday! I recognised you straight away - I had seen your pics months ago and was SO impressed. You look fantastic! I turned 46 2 weeks ago and like you am struggling with the last 10lbs or so (I haven't lost as impressive an amount as you). Like you I wanted to be able to comfortably run with my kids - be an active…

I am sooooo stuck too. I just recently(a week ago) started exercising to try to combat this but wasn't eating back my calories. I took the decision since yesterday to up my calories. My setting is at sedentary too. I think I will change the setting to lightly active now having read this. It's a bit scary...should we expect…

I'm 5' 5". I am 46. I started on mfp at 164 lb but had been a bit heavier before logging on here. Currently just under 138lb but my goal weight is about 126lb.

Hi. Irish, but not a biker....my brother used to be one....does that count? Been here over 7mths - finding it great. Best of luck!

I have my activity level set to sedentary because I consider my work job to be pretty non-physical. I log housework if it involves what I consider to be real physical activity. My house is mostly one storey and sprawled out. When I get into major tidying mode it would be totally normal to see me rushing briskly from one…

Thank you for the reply. I stuck with the smaller size. I know from trying on the 12 that it suits my shape and I know that I am NOT happy to stop at this weight. From the beginning I have intended to go another stopne. I really do think that at that point the 10 will fit comfortably. Too late now...I am back home, lol!

Thank you for posting. I'll try them.

Can I ask about the oatmeal you use? I see a comment a few posts above about someone using Irish Oatmeal and they thought it didn't work....I am in Ireland and had presumed you had meant what I would call porridge oats - what I think are rolled oats, like little flakes...or is it pinhead oatmeal you are using? I would like…

I like this way of cooking white fish/salmon. poach the fish in white wine and chicken broth with herbs added (fresh preferably but some dried would do) in a wide pan or you can do it in the oven. Take the fish out when cooked and keep warm. Boil the sauce up very rapidly to reduce. Add a little fresh cream and reduce to…

Thanks again everyone  Today I ate conservatively - the scales has definitely taken a jump and I am hoping it will move back down a little over the next few days so I can see my real position (I gain very rapidly, but some will come off quickly again I hope). It is definitely time to change a little - just not sure…

Hi. Thanks fto everyone for the thoughts. My mfp friends have made some similar suggestions...like dropping my weekly weight loss targets. I have been set at 1lb per week since I began and that gives me 1200 calories a day. I just tested to drop it to 0.5lb a week and it is giving 1350 calories a day for that goal.…

Irish too

Thanks again to everyone. I have done a lot of reading and research today and I am convinced that one of my problems was not enough water intake. It would explain why this happened when i had increased my fibre intake quite considerably over the period tha tthis all became an issue. I have never been one to drink extra…

Wow, thank you all so much for the many replies. Firstly it is a relief to find out that my lifetime pattern of not being 'regular' is somebody elses 'normal' too. I have always worried about it. I will print off this thread and take a good read of it and look at what I am doing against questions asked and suggestions…

Ladies, thank you! You make a lot of sense : ) I will try those and try to get a general system that would work in future as an estimation, like adding a certain %. I know you wouldn't want to be obsessively working it out every time and that foods vary, but I suppose I am conscious of just how high calorie oil is (can be…
