I try to eat a whole vegan diet - add me if you like :)

Nutritional Yeast (a vegan favorite) is YUM and gives it a cheezy flavor and is good for you!

Annie's red pepper is only 60 calories per 2 TBSP and really good ( and organic). Most of Annies dressings are good and free of additives. Otherwise, i make my own.

If you are going to try a vegan diet, I suggest you read up on it first (get some books from your library). It's easy to be a "junk food vegan" and you will likely gain weight. If you eat clean, whole foods ( whole grains, beans, fruit/veg) and keep track of your calories here, you will likely see the lbs come off quickly.…

Soooo inspiring! You look amazing!

You can look at mine. I try to eat whole and vegan and between 1200 and 1700 cal a day.

I would avoid elliptical as it can bother your lower back. How about treadmill, walking, swimming or recumbent bicycle? All are pretty easy on your body. Walking is the best exercise ever and can help you heal, too :) best of luck!

I'm a vegan and you can friend me if you want. :)

Well, I dont like to support the dairy industry and I dont want my family drinking cow's milk. To the poster that recommended soy milk, too much processed soy is not good for you. My son developed a thyroid problem from consuming too much processed soy and I developed a soy allergy (trips to the ER with my face, lips and…

I eat it raw with almond milk and berries few times a week. Good and good for you. Its also filling, which can help with weight loss. :)

Try a green smoothie (just throw 2 cups of spinach in there). I also will add pureed cauliflower to creamy sauces and pureed sweet potato to spaghetti sauce. You can't tell!

Earth balance has soy-free, dairy-free "butter" and I also use raw coconut oil (its hard like butter).

Well, I think you're a great roommate for trying to get him to see his unhealthy ways. I would keep trying and offer to share your meals :-)

You look amazing!

It can take a while, but you will eventually have that reaction to cows milk if you keep drinking almond. I started with soy milk, but then moved to almond after I developed a soy allergy. I missed cow's milk when I switched to soy and I missed soy when I switched to almond. I LOVE my almond milk now! I cook with almond or…

In my 30s it was harder than my 20s and now in my 40s it is SLOW. I'm 41 and eating right and exercising and losing 1-1.5 lbs a week where before I would drop 2-3. The inches aren't falling away as easily either. I'm not giving up though! I think I'm more determined now than in my 20s! I can only imagine what it will be…

I agree about throwing out the stupid shakes! I have yet to see one that is nutrient rich. Eat real food! Make a green smoothie for breakfast instead: 2 cups spinach, frozen and fresh fruit (like banana, blueberries) add flax seed or protein powder and you have a healthy "shake". You can not taste the spinach and it adds…

@readingissexy No, you're totally cute! You look like Emma Stone :)

I have 6 or 7 exercise playlists on Spotify. I like to mix it up and have one for intervals, a few for step, walking, 80s songs, dance songs, indie, etc. Right now I am loving Madonna, esp. "Sorry", and 70s stuff like ELO, Raspberries and Bay City Rollers, seriously ;)

Maybe the PCRM 21 day vegan kickstart? Or just eliminate all processed foods and up your organic fruit/veg, don't drink your calories, add green tea and more water and less (or no) meat/dairy.

Air-popped popcorn with a little balsamic and nutritional yeast or a few pieces of very dark chocolate.

I've had a cauliflower crust pizza with garlic, roasted vegetables (roasted oil-free) and a bit of daiya cheese that was low carb/low cal and pretty awesome. You can find the recipes online. I also do a baked potato with tons of veggies (roasted and steamed) and put a vegan topping on it (take some nutritional yeast and…

I'm 5'5.5 and my goal is between 118-124 and to look thin but fit. My lowest was 112 and I loved how I looked, but I would like to have more muscle this time around, so the low 120s seems reasonable and healthy.

I have been vegetarian for 25 years and an on again off again soy-free vegan for over a year. My dad has been vegan for 20 years and my son has been a soy-free vegan for 2 years. Hubby eats what I eat, so he is mostly vegan. Would love more mfp friends and would love to see some raw vegan diaries!

I have to agree about the processed foods. Even though you are in your calorie range, I would avoid those brownies and DQ and eat something like watermelon or a square of very dark chocolate. You may also try omitting the bun with veggie burgers and adding a lot of vegetables. You can also make your own veggie burgers (not…

I had quinoa for dinner tonight! I cooked it in half veggie broth/half water and then added garlic and had it with roasted zucchini, red pepper and onions (roasted with 1 tsp olive oil). Was soooo good.

cute! I'm so going to do it :)

and...Morningstar has a lot of processed soy, which shouldn't be eaten every day, just fyi
