I'm in the middle of week 5. The first few days of Month 1 were brutal. I was sooooo incredibly sore days 2-4. Days 3 & 4 were the worst, my calves hurt sooo bad I couldn't even walk right. But it works right out as you start the workouts, so don't let it stop you from pushing play. I know I'm in for more killer pain next…

If you love bootcamp, Insanity would probably be a good fit. I'm just finishing month 1 and it's awesome, a little addicting too. I bought 30DS and TurboFire, but haven't done them yet, need to finish Insanity first.

Sorry Dreamer. I didn't mean to exclude anyone when I created the group. I thought by including "friends" in the group name it might appeal to those with allied disorders. And though I only check in here every once in awhile (I wish they would notify me when a new post occurs), I'm happy to support you any way I can. You…

So, I just have dumbells, Bowflex adjustables up to 52 pounds each, and no gym membership. Could I still do the NROL4W?

Wow, congratulations getting back on diet! My son is 6 with PKU. He is currently only on 240mg PHE a day. We're getting ready to start a trial of KUVAN to see if we can increase his tolerance. Even on diet I've noticed his memory is not as good as his younger brother's and he seems to have way more anxiety. Don't know if…

That is a great idea!

Thanks for the link on the Spectrum shortening, I even found a local Fry's that carries it! I think I'm gonna try Rice Dream for creamer.

I don't get the opportunity to run outside very often (usually have the boys and have to do it on the treadmill), but I definitely take music, for the distraction. If I'm focused on the music, I don't focus as much on how far I've gone, how far I've still got to go, how out of breath I am....

I have never ordered from PKU Perspectives. I do happen to have some of their samples on hand, just because I picked them up at the PKU Holiday Party on Saturday, but haven't ahd the opportunity to try them yet. With insurance, I only sometimes get reimbursed from companies other than Cambrooke. But yes, I pay up front,…

^^^This! Except Black Cherry Chobani is my favorite :)

Wow, thanks for all the quick responses. I figured it was fine since the first ingredients are like rice, soy, and oats. Agree it has to be better than a pop tart! :)

You want to NET 1200.

Yes, I would say the statement is true. It also depends on what shape you are in when you start. After doing P90X, I am using anywhere from 10-25 pounds on all exercises. The girl doing the lighter weights in the video uses from 3-10 pounds I think. But if you have experience with weights at all, I think you'll want…

I also only work out at home. I have a treadmill, but don't get on it too much. I have been using Beachbody videos since April of this year. I started with Power 90, then did P90X, and am now doing ChaLean Extreme. I think for me, the biggest reason I've seen such improvement is because I am working out 6 days a week.…

Hi Pam. I'm Jessica. My 6 year old son has PKU. I've heard of homocystinuria. There is a website called Cook for Love that has some great low protein recipes. Also, a couple books that I have (though a lot of the recipes call for special low-protein flours) are Apples to Zucchini and Low Protein Cookery for PKU. I really…

Don't wear a tank top! You want to be able to see your belly and waist in the pics. I took my starting pics in tank and pants and regretted it. Now I take them in sports bra and workout shorts.

165 would be the highest you want for the "healthy range", so that would be a great starting goal. Then if you feel you need to, you could shoot for a goal somewhere in the middle of the "healthy range".

I'm still only at 12.5/50 :(

Beautiful!!!!

Did 5.5 today!! That's the farthest I've ever gone, before this the farthest I'd ever done was 4 miles and that was over ten years ago in college.

You definitely burn calories while lifting. I use my HRM during weight lifting and never felt like it was way off. You exert yourself a lot if you are lifting to failure (when your body won't let you do another rep) and that's what you want to do.

I thought they have them in brown. But when you are looking them up, look at the specifications and see if it tells you how long the band is or whatever and measure it against your wrist--I did this when I bought mine to make sure it would fit ok before I bought it. Do they have sizes too? Like I'm sure a men's small would…

Me!!! ;)

3.5 miles today, feels good, hope to stick with it...

Ok, I figured out how to add the ticker, but how do I update it???
-
I'm going to join, aiming for 50 miles in November, since I'll be doing ChaLean Extreme and I haven't run in a couple of months :/

Grande Iced Nonfat Mocha, no whip cream, only 220 calories and so worth it!

I went in Tuesday for an ultrasound due to recurring severe stomach pain. The doctor felt that it was likely my gall bladder. I am awaiting results from the ultrasound. I can't believe how many people have had issues... I haven't lost a lot of weight at all, maybe 10 pounds in 6 months. I definitely realize the pain occurs…

I have been working out for 6 months and am the same way, when I look in the mirror all I see is my poochy baby belly and big thighs. But I also took starting pictures and have taken "progress" pics every 30 days. I don't always see giant differences in the 30 day pictures, but looking from Day 1 to Day 180 I see a giant…
