  • A whopping 6kg! Must be water weight from all the salty nuts I've been eating... After tomorrow I'm back on harder than ever. If last year is anything to go by I'd lost 14pounds in 3 weeks.
  • Without trying to sound like a perv you looked great before too well done. I wouldn't go seeking lower numbers or you might start looking too thin. Well done though!
  • I think it's hard to distinguish between sedentary and what is classed as lightly active. There's a big difference between a walk and a stroll around the office however, to me, sedentary is sat on your rear all day...
  • Personally I would get out there and go running. Far more challenging than a treadmill and so much more rewarding. I was worried about running outside but you soon loose those worries. The type of ground you run on has an effect on stamina and eg ache. Also don't worry about starting slow. I was slow for a long time until…
  • I felt fantastic for the first 3 months or so but the effect, Unfortunatly, wore off. Never felt jittery though just more awake and alive if that makes sense.
  • I do believe that you shouldn't put your own ethics and morals on other people but sometimes you really do have to look twice to believe it. I love teaching pe at school and I do better than the majority of the kids. In fact me and the year 6 teacher are going to start a running club next year. Don't know how much red tape…
  • I'm a primary school teacher and I say it time and time again. It's too easy to have kids these days, especially in the UK with various benefits. It's far to easy for someone who can't be assed to just give in to a child and there are that many cheap and easy fixes which are usually full of crap. Personally I think it's…
  • I am the opposite. I always struggled getting to sleep, now I can sleep much easier and I don't need to wait for my body to feel tired it sort of does automatically now. Much happier that I can sleep airliner and wake earlier.
  • Thanks for the input guys. I am saying 18% now but I know when I get there I will probably want to be about 10. A six pack sounds great but in reality I'll be happy just to not be 40 like I started. Pictures of people at certain body fats is a great idea helped me see what 18% might look like, I know we don't all have fat…
  • I used to love it as a kid. Go for it but be careful! I always preferred blades as I got go way faster on them and could push outwards easier.i don't know if this makes sense but you don't have to keep your foot as flat to the ground as you do with skates as the track is not as wide making it easier to push off in a v…
  • I do it and enjoy it! Granted only ever done the first part twice. I can never get into doing it for the duration as I do a lot of other exercise now. Also toned and lost inches through it too.
  • I always did Monday - Saturday and have Sunday off but got very bored after week 2 and failed to complete it. The second time I did it I did Monday , Wednesday, and Friday. I ran Tuesday and Saturday and played squash Thursday but counted these as days giving me a total of 6 a week.
  • So true, definatly take measurements. I cannot comprehend how many inches I have lost from my chest, hips and wait. I can easily see I have lost alot from the neck but I think its sometimes harder to see the other areas. Been weeks and even months when I have lost very little weight but many centimeters off areas.…
  • I weigh my self without any cloths and clothing can easily add on a few pounds. As long as you weight less the last time you were on the same doctors scales I wouldn't threat. :)
  • Stick to looking to be 25% body fat. I have started doing more resistance training and the scales are hardley moving but my inches and body fat are coming down.
  • Milk contains many more calories than I first thought. Before MFP I used to drink gallons of it. Depends how you are using it. If your jjust having it in tea/coffee or a bit on cereal then I cant see any harm using semi skimmed but if your drinking milk then go for the 2% stuff. We are using 1% stuff from Tesco at the…

  • Loads of good things. Main one is my own wellbeing, I feel great, energetic and sleep/wake up much easier. I can now run distances without stopping and in fact is my new hobbie. I don't feel quite as sick looking in the mirror. More confidence Peoples comments about how good I am looking Feel loads better about my overall…
  • I'm booked on my third cruise in August next year. It is my goal. To loose weight and continue logging until then. The moment I step foot in the airport I am having 2 weeks off! If you seriously don't want to do what I am doing then I guess its going to take a lot of will power and try and think about what and when you…
  • Didn't realise that about cheerios. I eat a lot of broccoli and other dark green vegetables like cabage and spinache but very rarely get my iron allowence. Is it a problem if your not generally enemic?
  • I spent time weighing portions of salad out and then saved it in my recipees called JDs salad. Now everytime I take one to work I just click JDs salad. I then tend to have some protein in there too which I log seperatly depending on what it is, tuna, chicken, turkey etc.
  • I have a holiday booked for next August (2013). In fact its our honeymoon and I intend to treat my self royal style. We are going a Royal Carribean Cruise and I am working towards that date. It will be 2 weeks of solid eating and drinking what I want. When I get home I will continue then! Have a break once in a while. As…
  • I used to have a problem with heartburn. I went to this seminar about health, weightloss and well being etc and they explained how my body processes foods etc. When you have too much acid build up in your lymphatic system it can sometimes result in heart burn. They said to try and eat food with a lesser acidic properties…
  • Since some of the healthy foods I have been logging contain a lot of sugar or sugar when you wouldn't expect it too I have decided to not worry about it. I see processed sugar a bad thing but only because of what other things tend to come with it eg saturated fats etc (tend to be found in the same place- donut etc).
  • People ask this a lot and I don't see how people struggle unless they are vegan which makes it a bit harder. Doesn't need to be lean meat to get protein, red meat has just as much it's just lean contains less other stuff (fat etc).
  • In the UK and I am preferring KG these days. Base 10 and all that jazz is far easier to work with. I am getting pretty good at converting now though lol. The doctors use KG as mentioned. When I am telling some friends and family (who tend to be older than me) I use pounds because its all they understand.
  • I started on here with just a deficit and moderate exercise. I then started the 30 Day shred and started feeling stronger and felt more solid. I then got an ankle/foot injury which litrally knocked me out for 2 weeks. I then continued to just keep the deficit and was worried about exercising for a repercussion on my foot.…
  • Thanks for the replies guys. Problem with weights is that I only have 3 sizes and no disposable income to buy more. So I have the choice of 1.5kg, 3kg and 5kg. All my spare money is going on the wedding :( lol The chest flys are pretty easy and when I belonged a gym I was pushing 20kg in each arm. I guess I am still…
  • Come on guys, please let me know that men do this as well as girls!
  • Thanks guys, I think from the advice, I should just try and mix it up. A steady longer run, a quicker run and some what I can lamppost training. Walk, jog, run at every lamp post change lol.
