  • Quite like that 66 lengths in 55 minutes as my next goal. Think this is what I'm going to do next. Really though I do need to vary my techniques too. I know I swim much faster with a front crawl. Maybe I just need to work on that more so I become less splashy and more efficient lol.
  • Thanks for all the kind words guys. The weired thing is that I AM seeing improvements and so is everyone else. I quickly saw improvements in 2 months. but looking at my ticket and thinking I still have a long way to go is the off putting things. I am fitter, feel better, look younger cloths are now too big for me. One…
  • To be honest, I haven't given much thought into different techniques etc. I do breaststroke pretty much continuous for the whole 40 minutes. I think my biggest problem is technique. It was taking me a long time previously. I started at around 20 laps in 30 minutes and being tired. I now do an average of 10 laps per 10…
  • As suggested, check out your sodium levels. Sodium seems to be the main thing that really hinders my weightloss. Stay hydrated all of the time to ensure you are flushing out the sodium. Big fan of water, other than sweat, a lot of fat and crap comes out of your body through your wee.
  • I only tend to count water in my water bit. Mainly because it is worth 0 calories. If I have tea its usually around 15 calories so tends to go in one of my sections. Breakfast, AM snack, Dinner, PM Snack, Tea, Snack. Usually fits in there somewhere.
  • My friend has a garmin one and he can connect it to the computer. It tracks what exercise he has been doing. Has GPS on and can give you all the facts and figures you could possibly want (on the computer when synced up). We went running at the weekend and he showed me when we got back to his house. He plugged it in and it…
  • People mention putting fruit in it. I bet it would be pretty nice with berries in, strawberries, rasberries etc. Worth a try!
  • I have little to no evidence to suggest that water is good for you but my personal opinion is that it really helps to flush you out of nasty chemicals/toxins which aid weightloss. Keeps you clear headed and focused and helps going to the toilet. I really feel the difference if I am dehydrated compared to having lots of…
  • I'd consider myself as a pro at drinking water. Had to be the right temperature or its yucky! Not to cold (unless its a mega hot day) but certainly not warm. I tend to put a 2 liter bottle where I am working and keep sipping it throughout the day. I know by lunch time I try to have consumed half. I also drink 2 large cups…
  • I think my other half has a low Libido. The problem is... Mine seems to raise when I'm exercising and loosing weight. Bit frustrating but I love her so just going to have to put up with it.
  • I've heard drinking water helps but don't know really. I guess toning up those areas would help as well as reducing your body fat percentage.
  • I thought it was just me who lived white/green tea win pomegranate. As a rule I'm not a big fan of flavoured teas but I really like the pomegranate one!
  • I've started it this week but didn't do it Thursday as I play squash then. It says not to do it Sunday's either but I go swimming then so still doing something. I don't know if there are any other guys doing it but I think I have a secret crush on jillian michaels lol. The first few days are tough but you just need to…
  • Another Yorkshire pudding here :D
  • My sister is in the same boat. She is getting bigger and bigger, she struggles to get in my car now (mx5). I tell her because I care, my mum and dad tell her but she doesn't seem to care. The main reason I am on here is because I don't want to follow my families trend of bad health due to being obese. Why does it bother me…
  • I started on the 6th January, not influenced by a news years resolution or anything I just got fed up of being fat and decided to do something about it! Lost 15KG so far. Loosing it pretty quick which I know isn't ideal but I cant seem to control it, I'm eating plenty according to MFP and have started eating breakfast,…
  • Loads of things annoy me in the gym, one or two of my top ones. People who go to socialise and wear stupid fashion hats and clothing that are inappropriate for real graft. People who gather loads of different free weights and different bars, remove them from the designated area and hog them all making a mini circuit for…
  • Call me lazy but I put in circuit training. Perhaps when I get a bit more time I may make an exercise workout thing if it lets you do it like you can make meals/ recipes. Something I will have to look into.
  • Personally wouldn't want to go over 3 days and even then the third day I don't like doing. I tend to make my lunches in batches of 2 days. So do Monday and Tuesday together. Usually make a single one Wednesday as my other half has her dinner at work on Wednesday and then I do a Thursday Friday batch.
  • Me and my partner made the switch ages ago but the annoying thing is that it is no where near the price of ordinary pasta. In fact while I'm on a rant, why does all 'better choice' food cost more money!?!
  • I used to work in a number of restaurants/pubs here in the UK and as daft as it sounds were never allowed to give out doggy bags for fear of food poisoning if the customer re-heated it badly or ate it much later that they should have done. Too easy to get the blame and a law suite against you/get closed down and loss of…
  • Anything to do with Abs! They always finish me off! Also calf raises, not a problem if you do them regulary but if you havn't done them for a while they are a killer for days after!
  • Water, water, water. Will make your hair nice and shiny, help flush the crap out and make your skin clear, although you may come out in a few spots in the first couple of days. It will also help flush out the retained water! Have fun, which cruise liner company are you going with? I love cruises, been on 2 and planning the…
  • My other half has lost about the same as you and started at the same time as me. Apparently women take longer to loose weight is that correct?
  • I usually do. I've set mine so I loose 2 pounds a week. I've been doing it for 2 months and have lost 32 pounds! So around 4 pounds a week.
  • Well you know Pamelad that I have been eating pretty much what I've being wanting too on occasion. I honestly don't think there is a science to loosing weight or non as basic as calories in calories out. Weightloss can be so irratic!
  • I might try this for a summer drink sounds good lol. So warm water, maple syrup, 1/2 lemon and cayenne pepper. Also are you guys actually saying that you got for 10 days without any actual food?
  • Porridge first thing in a morning! After water.
  • Sorry, excuse my idiotism here but do you burn calories breastfeeding over what you would on day to day movement? Not really in the know about this type of thing due to being a man!
  • I don't know if I can do this. I'd love to but I'll have a think about it! At the moment I am still using it as a spur to keep going.
