  • I'm away from home right now, but I know there are Zumba classes at the ballroom in downtown New Bern lots of days a week, including weekends. If you stop by the ballroom, there are calendars of events outside the front door, opposite the town hall. i'm sorry I don't know any other classes!
  • I use GNC Lean shake 25 - the ready shakes are 170 cals, less protein than the powder which is 200 cals but 25g protein. almost half my daily req in one shake.
  • I use GNC Lean Shake 25. I like that it is 200 cals, 25g protein and low (3g I think) sugar. It does have 17 grams carbs but since I use it as a meal (usually breakfast) I don't worry about the carbs too much. Been using it for about a year, don't really think it helped my weightloss especially but it helps me feel like…
  • So did you go out on your skates? I took the kids yesterday, pushing the baby in the stroller, her on her skates and me on my skates. It was interesting. lol Still keeping it up though, trying to get in the habit better. The night before I did 8 laps in about 40mins.
  • For initial weightloss, just eating less than you are burning is enough, so working out is preferred but not imperative for any specific number of days a week. I work out very sporadically, 2-3times a week usually at best, but I often do squats, pushups and situps at random times, which I don't count as "workouts" because…
  • Both! UK born and raised, married an American and Naturalized in 2008 I think. My kids and I are all dual, with two passports each :)
  • I just got mine redone! It was "saggy" looking after two pregnancies and a lot of yoyo weight gain stuff, so I took it out in April I think, and got it redone 3weeks ago! I love the belly piercings and the way they look. The guy took extra skin into it this time so it doesn't look saggy. I kinda wish he pulled even more…
  • Some cheaper brands that I like: Barefoot, Lindemans, Jacob's Creek. I drink Chardonnay and Cab Sav mostly, but Pinot Noir and Shiraz are in there too, with the occasional Merlot. These three are at the lower end of the price scale, without being the absolute cheapest nastiest stuff. I have heard that Cupcake is a pretty…
  • I was very sick for my entire first pregnancy, started at 143, ended at 140, dropped down to 128 at my lowest during the pregnancy, then slowly climbed back up. With my son I was 163 ish when I started, finished at 155. Negative weight gain both times. After the first pregnancy, we joked that I would have another baby when…
  • I think I'd need to be out there for an hour to get the cardio benefits really, the skates do too much work for me to sweat/be out of breath too much, but I feel it in my legs from the action of pushing, and the weight of the skates and since my legs are my "problem area" I'm happy with that. I'm interested in seeing the…
  • I loved the gym in Pensacola, there was a kid's daycare type thing in the family center where you could use the equipment or take a class while the baby was in the little room you could see from where you were working out. But I bet even if they had that here, I haven't the time for the commute to the gym, as well as a…
  • Thanks for the advice Wolfchild : I'm newish to skates, having only taught myself to stay up as a kid and never really learning proper control so I'm still nervous about goign slowly enough so I can stop for the roads in my neighbourhood, but my tentative goal was that I might be able to do 10laps in an hour so a 10mph…
  • Yeah I guessed that was a goal of the group. I need a running/workout buddy desperately but with two little kids and working part time, my schedule never matches anyone else's, even friends! The exercise part of this journey is definitely the hardest for me.
  • J'adore by Dior - special occasions for the last 10 years, LOVE it. 5th Avenue - for a change :) CK one - oldie but a goodie - everyday
  • We haven't been in New Bern long so we've not got many friends on here yet, but I'll pass word of this group to those to whom I recommend MFP.
  • I just did this. Last November I tried on a 14 in David's Bridal, two weeks ago, I tried on the 8 and it was loose :) It can definitely be done to lose two sizes by then. I ordered the 6 because I tried on the 6 in another style (didn't have the size in the right style) and the 6 fit fine. I hope the 6 will have to be…
  • My profile pics are me from a 10/12 US to a 6/8 US. first picture is last November, second is from April. Smaller portions, more veggies, more exercise is how I did it.
  • We have different size plates, regular large dinner plates, around 12inch across, and then we have medium size plates, around 8 inch across. I feed him from the big plate, and me from the medium plate, and the baby gets the smaller 6inch plate. My older child gets the same size plate as I do. This has helped us keep…
  • My first time posting pics to the board. The left is last september, not a bikini but a two piece. The right is from May 31st, still technically overweight by bmi. Hope this qualifies me to post in this thread....
  • The little blonde brit girl.
  • Eat less, move more. Don't buy the timeshare next year, or move into a base house - trust me, both these will save you a fortune. After you have the baby, don't eat like you'll never eat again, even though being pregnant sucked. Don't eat so much mcdonald's when you're in Slovenia. Try to avoid the medical exam in Croatia,…
  • Peanut butter and pickles are nasty My children are not the center of my universe; main characters, but not the leads.
  • OMGosh how many times have you saved all the purple skittles til last because they are the absolute best, to try one and remember oh spit, they are GRAPE and not blackcurrant!!! LOL I did this for the first year I was here. I miss blackcurrant. HATE grape everything! lol
  • I have this argument a lot - Cadburys in the US is mostly manufactured under licence by Hershey. I frequently have an American friend tell me all about the Cadbury bar they ate and how far superior it was to Hersheys and they insist that it's English until I point out the manufacturer to them. It's irritating. Caramellos…
  • WOW! What a transformation, you look amazing!
  • I have 3 tats and I don't care what guys think of them... in fact, I'm pretty sure even my husband wishes I didn't have at least 1 of the 3 I have, but they reflect who I was at a particular time. I don't necessarily regret them and I can hide them easily - most people don't know I have one, let alone 3! - but maybe when…
  • Knickers and a tank. Can't stand to sleep in anything loose and generally don't like sleeping naked.
