Swimming and walking are great cardio workouts! Use the stairs instead of elevators whenever possible. Also, if you are staying in a hotel with a gym - use it! As far as eating, enjoy yourself while trying to stick with proper portions. Over indulging is the real killer when you are traveling. Above all...Have a great time!

I usually have a large glass of water or a protein shake before I run, and then eat a good breakfast when I am finished. Just don't like to run after eating a big meal.

Container of lowfat yogurt with 1 tbsp. flaxseed meal and some high protein & fiber cereal, and a plum. 2 hours later I had a protein bar to hold me over until lunch.

Unfortunately there is no magic bullet. It takes determination, willpower, and a reason to change your lifestyle that is truly important enough to you to get on track. It's all about getting into a routine and holding yourself accountable. Your friends can only support and encourage you. You are the one who has to get to…

Sorry, I'm in the office today, so I have to wait until 5pm to head to the gym. But, my "unlogged" exercise for the day so far...ran up and down the stairs at least 6 - 7 times, 3 sets of 20 pushups while waiting for our servers to re-boot this morning, walked around the parking lot several times on a break after lunch.…

I'll tell you the correct answer to every question that boggles the mind. This has been developed over years of parenting, and my children finally have stopped asking me questions since they know that this is the answer to everything...BECAUSE

Use MFP every day you possibly can, and be honest with yourself about how much you are eating and how much you exercise. MFP is just a tool, and friends can only support and encourage you if you truly are committed to changing your lifestyle. It begins with YOU! Good luck!

I think it's fine what you did...and you can give me a hug anytime! Hugs are a good thing!

I'm 58, weigh less now and am in better shape than I have been since I was 15!

^ Why I don't post pics of my abs...well one of the reasons anyway... :ohwell:

I only fast from one meal to the next. I never saw any benefit to fasting, and prefer to eat several times a day to maintain my energy level.

This sounds awesome! Printing it out for Sunday breakfast. Thanks! :drinker:

This is all so true! ^ And I can only say...what else would make more sense than this? :glasses:

I respectfully disagree with the OP. MFP does not include your exercise goal in the calculation of your daily calorie goal. It is purely based on the lifestyle you plug into the goal calculator. You can see this by setting your goals, and then adding or deleting exercise days while leaving your lifestyle alone. Your…

I have always tried to eat back at least 30% of my exercise calories, and some days almost all of them. The proof is in my ticker...

I'm not allergic to any food...maybe that was part of my problem...

Hopefully he can stay healthy. There is a lot of baseball left yet this season - let's hope they finish strong!

Based on MFP and other calculators, I have dropped my BMI from 41 to 28. Unfortunately that is still in the overweight range for me. My goal weight, which I feel is reasonable for me, is only 11 lbs. away, which will still be considered overweight. The calculators say I need to lose an additional 11 - 12 lbs to be at the…
