Today it was the homemade pizza for dinner. I don't worry about it though, because I was still under on my calories, and it was so damn good!

Mine is public, because I want my friends to be able to offer me helpful advice, and I also don't really care if other MFP members look at it from time to time. I've got nothing to hide! CAUTION: Just remember if you look at someone else's diary and it works for them, it does not necessarily mean the same food choices will…

Start slow and work your way up to it. Walk a mile or two, then when you are comfortable doing that try jogging part of it. Keep increasing the intervals that you are jogging until you can do 1 or 2 complete miles without walking. Then work on your speed and that last mile + that you will need to do a 5k. If it starts to…

I generally only use them either an hour before or right after I workout. The only ones I use on a regular basis are Pure Protein Chocolate Deluxe. 180 calories, 20g protein, 2g dietary fiber, 2g sugars, 75 mg sodium

I set mine at 1,500mg/day initially, and learned how to stay close to that by adjusting what I was eating. It helped to bring my blood pressure way down, and I began to lose weight much faster. I now have it set at 1,800 (still below the 2,500 that MFP suggests), and that change didn't seem to make a big difference. I also…

1. Did you eat at, below, or above your BMR? ABOVE 2. Did you eat at, below, or above your TDEE? BELOW 3. Did you eat your excercise calories back? If so what percentage of them? SOME (25% - 45%) 4. How often did you excercise per week and for how long? 5 - 6 TIMES FOR 45 - 60 MINUTES EACH TIME 5. What were your macro's…

I'm 58, and started here only 8 months ago. The support of all of my friends along with the tools that MFP provides have been keys to my success here. I'm healthier, feeling great, and ran my first 5k on Saturday! Take a look at my blog if you want to gain some insight into my journey here.…

Blind date...41 years ago!

I didn't stop eating anything that I wanted. I learned to control my portions, stay within my calorie limits, and eat more of the "healthy" stuff and less of the "junk". As far as food, I eat lots of fruit and vegetables now, probably more chicken, turkey, lean beef, and fish than I ever did before, and have found many…

Awesome job! Now you know that you don't have to be afraid of trying anything! Keep on rockin' it! :drinker:

If this is correct, it's only 60 calories more than the protein bar I eat before working out. It does have twice the fat grams, and 1/3 the protein, but nothing calorie wise to worry about. Go exercise a little and it will become a non-issue.

You mean she got us both Mike? I came here to watch you give it back with both barrels...what a buzz kill. LOL!

^ This is my approach too...and it works for me!

Awesome job! Now that you have taken the first steps (2 miles of them) the only way for you is up!

Yes...I do this every day. The difference is that I want to eat healthier, so I want different foods than I used to. It makes perfect sense to me to have pizza if I want it (and maybe a beer too), but there's no reason to have garlic bread, cream puffs, cake, ice cream, and a bunch of other high calorie - low nutrient…

There are healthier ways to prepare almost any food...so don't deprive yourself of things that you want. ...also, save all of the money that you would have spent eating out at restaurants and fast food joints...you will need it for multiple new wardrobes along the way! :drinker:

There you go!

Been there myself...much luckier than Bill though. Prayer sent.

You forgot the best way...insert spoon in jar, scoop out a Tbsp full, eat until the spoon is clean!

They are also called "Circles" in some parts of the US - in New Jersey there are the Cherry Hill Circle, the Marlton Circle, etc.

I started out walking, and now walk/jog/run both on the treadmill and out on the streets. I also use the elliptical and bikes at the gym for cardio. Doing this and eating at a deficit has worked well for me. I started to incorporate some lifting a couple of months ago, and am doing more of that and less cardio now - along…

That's not "kind of" it's a definite NSV! Maybe you could get this until you are ready to have the ring resized... http://www.amazon.com/Ring-Snuggies-Original-Adjusters-Assorted/dp/B0014DGXU8/ref=pd_sbs_jw_1

Let me give you some perspective here. I am over twice your age, and started here at 286 lbs. I joined a gym, and could only dream of jogging on a treadmill for more than 30 seconds at a time, so I mostly just walked on the treadmill - or just around my neighborhood. As I started to lose some weight I was able to go a…

I started on MFP at 286 lbs., and I am 5' 10" tall. My original calorie goal (sedintary as well) was set at 1,800 calories per day. I reset my goals after about every 5 - 10 lbs. lost or so, to adjust for the weight loss and changes in my activity level. I also keep a close watch on my sodium, and am convinced that this…
