  • Well done you! Isn't it a great feeling? Not only losing the weight, but how great your body feels!
  • You guys have really helped, and told me exactly what I think I've needed to hear. They do say you have to learn to walk before you can run. So I'm going to do the right thing by my body and start with walking, and build up intervals of brisker walking, then jogging a little, as my weight goes down and my fitness…
  • No! Not a total failure! I realised what my body needs me todo, and still got the blood pumping and some calories burnt! Not a wasted experience at all! A touch over the fat allowance today, due to the olive oil in dinner, but tomorrow will be better! I can't expect to be perfect right away, and all progress is good, so…
  • I must try to remember that! Maybe it should become my new mantra. Yeah..I'm not sure 'I'm doing my best' is the best one for me anymore.
  • Thanks for the support everyone. My problem is I want to be able to do everything *now*! I really should have realised that I haven't run in a really long time..so I'll have to start really slow. I think I'll start doing 20 second running intervals, with 2 minute brisk walking, or something along those lines, and build up…
  • Thanks for the suggestion of c25k..but that's what I was trying to do :(
  • Tried to start c25k..utter failure...totally demoralised. Now..how to feel a bit better without comfort food...
  • I'll be joining in as well. 3500 calories burnt in one week will be quite the challenge for me as I'm just getting back into regular exercising now, but I'm sure I can do it! I'm thinking of starting c25k this evening (it's Monday here in Australia already), but a little worried about whether it's a good idea at 270lbs (or…
  • Hey there :) I'm from Australia too, in Wagga, NSW. Married, no children..and also a Melbourne lover. With two sisters there, I really should make an effort to visit more!
  • lilfarm - don't lose heart :) Your 45 minutes every morning will be doing you the world of good and helping you build muscle. Your body will remember what it's doing and drop another few pounds for you before too long! I wish I could be as motivated as you in the mornings - I must make an effort!
  • Awesome job! That's fantastic, you must feel so much better, both physically and mentally - you've done such a great thing for yourself and your family!
  • I'd love to join your challenge group! I think a new challenge each week would certainly help to keep me interested and on my toes. Quick little bit about me - I'm Lisa, 30 years old, married and living in Australia. I work full time and also study, and am a total geek. Oh, and I want to lose about 50kg (bit over 100lb)…
  • That's awesome! Good job :D
  • Starting weight - 271 Check in weight - 269
  • Check in weight - 269 Smaller loss than I thought..I'm feeling so good! But still, a loss is a loss and nothing to be complained about.
  • There's never a bad day to jump back on the wagon! We all slip up from time to time, that's normal. It's only a problem if you don't get up again, so go you! :)
  • Count me in! I think smaller, group challenges like this will help me stay focused, rather than just the one big goal! Screen Name: Acria Starting Weight on January 1, 2011: 271 Goal weight by January 31, 2011 (can be whatever you want, with a min of 10 lbs): 253 What is your exercise plan?: 3 C25K sessions per week, one…
  • Alright, count me in. I live in Australia and it's now 1:38am on Saturday, January 1, 2011, and this is the year that I get my health sorted out! Screen Name: Acria Starting Weight (On January 1st 2011): 123kg/271lb Goal by July 1st, 2011 (can be more than 50 lbs, whatever you wish for):95kg/209kg Why do you want to lose…
  • Alright, I can do this. I've started the C25K before..and gotten through about 2 weeks before throwing in the towel. I'm not sure why I stopped, because I was so proud of myself when I did it. Whatever the reason, I think I should try again. Wish me luck :/
  • HI there! I don't think it's all or nothing. For some people, cutting out certain thigns entirely works for them, but it's not for me. I still bake sticky cakes and cook roast lamb and bake my potatoes for the roast in olive oil, have chocolate and creamy coffee, strawberries with cream, porridge made with full cream milk.…
  • Ah! I wish I'd found all of you sooner! I ahd this great plan to hit my goal weight by the time I turned 30, and well..I turn 30 in 17 days. Oh dear.. Nonetheless, I will watch all of your progress with great interest. Good on you for doing what I should have done!
  • Hello everyone. Long time lurker here. I joined MFP around this time last year, and lost about 16lb in 3 weeks. Of course that wasn't sustainable, and I had a major life change and totally neglected my eating and exercise. I've managed to keep 10lb off (14lb up until Christmas came and I went mad with gingerbread and the…
  • You are a complete inspiration Tami. Seriously! Why else would I have just gotten up, changed into my gym gear, done a few reps of press ups and lunges, then gone for a run in the Australian summer in the middle of the day? ;) Phew..hot now, but totally worth it. You're amazing. xx
  • Did my second workout of week one tonight. It was hard, again, obviously. But I don't think quite as hard as the first one was. My body feels so much better for being pushed and active! I'm feeling quite apprehensive about moving onto week two, and maybe should do week one twice. We'll see... xx
  • Thankyou so much ladies for posting your experiences and enthusiasm about this program! I started it myself today, and got my husband to join me, so after getting a proper pair of running shoes, we set off. I haven't run since I was a child..and it was hard. Those minute-long spells of running started to get very hard, but…
  • 1. I'm a Pagan. 2. I'm also a gamer geek girl. 3. I should be in bed but am staying up for one more piece of loot in LOTRO -_- xx
  • Thankyou all so much for the replies! It's so good to hear others going through similar experiences, and offering their help. I'm feeling a bit better now, as I got out into the garden and planted some new silverbeet seeds, so I should have lots of beautiful leafy greens out of my own garden in a few weeks/months. I've…
  • Oh boy, today is not a good day. I joined MFP about a month ago, and logged everything religiously, ate all my exercise calories, and lost 11lbs really quickly, within about 2 weeks. I was getting comments from my family that they noticed the difference, and I felt so much better! But now the last two weeks have been a bit…
  • Thanks for the advice! I've seen others suggest it and I never think to give it a go, but I think I will :) I'll let you know how it goes. xx
  • *smacks her wrist* I know..I'm terrible with water..a few weeks ago it was easy because it was so hot, but the weather has cooled and so tea and hot chocolate are involved. And I've just eaten four servings of rocky road chocolate and 4 oreos...oh dear *packs her gym gear and grabs the ipod* xx
