Well, not so great today. Mental health was better, but a couple of days ago I made one of my favourite cakes, telling myself it was okay because we're in lockdown and I deserve to go easy on myself. Well, that cake it almost gone now. Every day starts out well, and by the end, I've given up and told myself again and again…

Hi there! I'd love some accountability with some other ladies who also have around 100lb or more to lose. I'm 40F, in Australia, and presently around 304lb. I tend to go by kilograms, but I need to lose roughly half my bodyweight.

How’s everyone’s 2021 treating them so far? I find being aware of major news, but then turning it off and focusing on the small, direct things in my life works well for me! SW: 136.6kg CW: 134.6kg It might not seem like much, but I’ve successfully tracked my calories for 4 days now, and usually by now I have at least one…

Hi there, and happy new year! Here’s to a better 2021! I’m Lisa, and I’m back on the wagon, one of those new year’s resolution people ;) I turned 40 in November, and to prevent my life being cut short, I need to lose roughly 70kg, half my body weight. I’ve successfully lost weight here in the past, but had a difficult…

I need help staying accountable in terms of fully tracking my calories regularly and sticking to my daily goals! I find I always start the day well, but fall off the wagon come dinner/evening.

Hi there! I hope it's not too late to join in! I thought I was very limited in my walking abilities, but did a very enjoyable 4km walk today, and then saw this thread this evening so decided a goal is a great idea! I'm going to set myself a goal of 50km for the month. This could end up being way off, but I guess it's kind…

Thanks so much for your replies :) I've been toying with the idea of a Fitbit for a while now, so may start looking more seriously at that option. I do have the step tracker in my phone which I can link to MFP to automatically adjust with that, so I might get that going again for now. I think the best plan for now is to…

Hey there, I'm in a similar position. My son is almost 16 months old and I've lost and regained about 5 pounds a few times since he was born. I need to lose about 100lb though, and with the new year, I'm reasserting myself as an active, vibrant woman, wife and mama. For family meals, I find it really helpful to make a big…

Hi there! I'm Lisa, 34 year old mother of one very sweet one year old boy. I've been wanting to be a runner for a few years now, and keep getting disheartened, so I'm hoping that surrounding myself with other runners will help give me the extra mental strength! I've had problems with weight and hormones for a few years…

Count me in :) I'm a real newbie to running, and still doing the walk/run, so I'm going to aim for 20km in December. I know it's only small, but it's achievable and still a bit of an extension on what I've been doing. I can then use how I go to guide my goals from here on. Hoping this give me the extra push I need to go…

Yep! I always want more friends! I have a goal of hitting 70kg by my 35th birthday in November 2015, and I'd love more friends to help keep me on track, and so I can do the same for them :)

I saw a psychiatrist after I had my baby as there was concern I was at risk of postpartum depression. I was okay on that front after a few weeks, but he did also help me address some of my anxiety issues. Self-sabotage is a real thing, and it's not just a lack of willpower, or carbs, etc etc. It's acting in a way to…

SW: 132kg CW: 130.5kg GW: 120kg Weigh in Dates: Start of Month (10/01 Wednesday): 130.5kg 10/04 Sat: 130kg 10/11 Sat: 10/18 Sat: 10/25 Sat: End of Month (10/31 Friday): Total weight lost: 0.5kg Considering I had one day totally off the rails, consuming an entire block of chocolate and a whole pepperoni pizza, I'm very…

I'd love to join! I'm having trouble with staying motivated through the day at the moment, and I think this will help! I had my son a year ago and have had real trouble shedding any of the pregnancy weight, which I really need to do for health reasons before considering baby number 2! I'd like to feel healthier, more…

This looks like an awesome addition to my repertoire, but I just have one question. What is half and half? Something we must know by a different name here in Australia :)

Well my baby's about to turn one, and I'm about 4kg over my pre-baby weight, which is still about 55kg over my ideal healthy weight. I'm up for more mama friends with baby weight and baby worries to share :)

This :)

33 years old here, with a 7 month old son. Getting myself back on the wagon. Any and all welcome to add me :) Always love more mama friends!

Well I'm no nutritionist, but very roughly - the sugar in fruit is fructose which is kinder to your blood sugar levels and pancreas than refined sugars in chocolate. Gram per gram, fruit has less calories than chocolate/candy. Fruit is full of vitamins and minerals, and fibre, and has a high water content. So yes, fruit…

My son is about to be 6 months old. I'm still trying to breastfeed but we never got on with it fully due to some issues surrounding the birth, so he's mix fed. I've been back on MFP since January this year to try to get healthier and be the mum I want to be, but I've not been as strict with myself as I should, and don't…

Well done Greta and Deb! Your progress is very motivating :) I managed a walk today, and added a little jog in, went 2.5k. It's not perfect, but it's something, and it's better than sitting on my butt! So I'm glad :)

Confession time. I have not run, or even gone for a walk, in over a week. I basically gave up, again. This evening I saw a running girl. I wanted to be a runner like her. Starting W1D1 again tomorrow.

I'm almost 6 months post partum, and to be honest, my body doesn't feel too much different than before I fell pregnant. That's not really a good thing though, as I was terribly out of shape then, and I'm pretty much the same plus an extra 6kg. When I was 36 weeks pregnant, I told a regular client I was about to go on…

I do this, in many areas of my life. Get close to a goal, and seem to almost intentionally mess it up. My psychiatrist explained it (forgive the rough explanation here) that it stems from low self-esteem. You deep down believe you don't deserve good things or success, and then when the quality and events of your life…

I have got to keep going. Ashamed to say I didn't do W1D3, and haven't started W2 yet *gulp*.

Oh my god this sounds amazing. Omnivore here...but om nom nom

Sounds like a very healthy (physically and mentally) approach to food and eating!

Congratulations! Enjoy the feeling of pride and accomplishment, you deserve it :) As for me, was going to do the third 'run' of the week today, but with the baby the day's gotten away, so I'm going to do it tomorrow. Husband only works half the day so there's a lot more free time about. Starting the baby on his first bit…

Well done! You must have felt awesome realising you'd done 2 mins! :)
