Hey! i'm vegan, been vegan for about 10 months now. When I first transitioned i lost 20 lbs and felt great, but recently I've been eating more "junk" vegan foods, lots of bread etc. and have gained most of it back. Feel free to add me, I have great tips about transitioning, and am back on track to lose the 20 lbs and more…

if you search the fruits and veggies that you juice as like a juice (e.g. "celery, kale, apple, ginger juice") you could probably find something similar to what you're juicing.

I haven't done any research on water consumption, but I know that if our bodies are 50-65% water, it should be a major part of what we consume. Being thirsty is not a myth, and there is a reason that humans get thirsty - because we need water... Your colon especially needs water to eliminate the foods from your body, and…

WATER COUNTS AS WATER coffee ESPECIALLY does not since it actually dehydrates you, as do caffeinated teas, soft drinks, alcohol, etc. I drink 0.5 to 1 Liter of water before I even eat breakfast in the morning, and another Litre before lunch. For me, having a coffee or soft drink, etc counts as a NEGATIVE glass of water, so…

yeah, i think lights are the best way to optimize vitamin d, and i am also skeptical about the effectiveness of pills. do you worry about skin cancer risk with going to tanning beds, though?

if you don't have people to eat all those cookies at once you can freeze the dough! i like to make a batch for 24 cookies and cook 6 max. then i roll the rest of the dough into balls and freeze it, that way i can just take out a few when i want cookies and cook them. also useful if friends are coming over - you'll have…

@cranktastic ... i do like cats, but why don't you have a real pic of yourself?

If you want a substitute for eggs, you should try scrambled tofu. There's tons of recipes online and it's usually made with nutritional yeast so you get your b vitamins in from the start of the day. You can add any veggies just like you would a normal omelette, and you can also add non-dairy cheese for a special treat.…

for anyone who doesn't know their frame size here is a website that helps you figure it out. they also have an "ideal weight" calculator once you calculate your frame size http://www.superskinnyme.com/body_type_calculator.html

I have a medium-small frame and I'm 5'7. My starting weight was 160, and I'm down to 145-143 (fluctuating here right now). My goal is to get below 125. So far I'm doing well, feel free to add me but please include a small message!

TOTALLY forgot about this brand before but Sweets From The Earth has TONS of vegan, also nut-free and gluten-free options that are literally TO DIE FOR They're not so low in calories (one little slice of chocolate or carrot cake is around 300 cals) but they're SO worth it. If you go on their website you can even search…

I'm 19 looking for more support buddies! feel free to add me anyone but please include a short message :)

I don't usually buy vegan "junk food" since i live alone and i'd end up eating a whole box of something in one day haha. but i love to bake cookies, brownies, pretty much anything. i do love vegan desserts when i eat at vegan restaurants, though. i've had a banana chocolate cream pie that was vegan and TO DIE FOR, and…

checking an online menu ahead of time is definitely useful! also, happycow.net gives you stores and restaurants near you that are vegan, veg-friendly, etc. and you'd be surprised at what you'd find. usually restaurants and food service places are pretty flexible, but you do have to be careful for things that are not…

get a really good playlist on your ipod, or if you have an iphone you can use 8tracks at the gym (really good pre-made playlists and you can choose upbeat ones, workout ones etc) if music gets you energized. or you could download episodes of a TV show you want to catch up on and put it on an ipod touch or ipad or iphone if…

i've tried having one "bad day" but i find i often overindulge and it's actually harder for me to get back on track, because the next day i crave the sweets and junk foods. instead what i do is try to use an 80/20 or 90/10 rule on most days where i eat 80 or 90 percent healthy good foods, and i allow myself small…

kind of cross but i've heard it called cum gutters ahahahaha

same here - looking for motivating friends! feel free to add me - trying to lose 25 lbs more and tone up

I don't know about that spray you used but just thought I should post about this legal loophole here. This is what I've heard about those baking sprays: If a serving size is less than 1/2 gram, they can round everything down to 0! Look at a can of Pam (100% fat).

I'm also looking for help on this topic - I always manage to keep pretty healthy and under calories during the day, but then when 7 or 8 pm rolls around I crave foods - sweet and salty. Anyone have any tips on how to stop/prevent this habit?

there's no way to target fat loss to a certain area but there is ways to tone up certain areas while you're waiting for your weight to get lower. this is my problem area too - thighs+hip area. it's annoying because now that i'm losing weight they're disproportionally larger than the rest of my body - my waist especially.…

i can't see your diaries but make sure you're getting enough fruits and veggies! (raw as much as possible) i find that cooked carbs, especially bread, pancakes, wraps, etc. bloat me up and sometimes get me backed up. one thing i do every day is drink 1/2 to 1 lemon squeezed into 1Litre of water (1/2 cold, 1/2 boiling) and…

a great blog called chocolatecoveredkatie - she has TONS of vegan desserts including a whole section on single-serving microwave desserts like BROWNIES, COOKIES, CAKES and more! all her desserts are low-cal, and can be made gluten-free AND low-fat.

i totally know how you feel about this. after lots of contemplation and interest in being vegan i switched overnight, from a diet that mainly consisted of meat/eggs/dairy before. i did it for a number of reasons; health, animal well being, sustainability, resources for world hunger, etc. when i made the switch i pledged to…

i'm vegan, been vegan for 6 months! i have lots of great recipes and tips and love supporting fellow vegans&vegetarians, and anyone trying to make the transition! feel free to add me :)

i noticed some people said that you eat avocadoes, almonds and things like that. im not sure what you like, but here are some tricks i use to lower fat content: in guacamole, use 1/2 of an avocado and then 1 cup of frozen green peas (defrosted) and blend together using a hand mixer. then season and add onion, etc. as you…

don't be afraid of carbs! people think that carbs make them gain weight but it's all in the TYPE of carbs that you eat. having fries, for example isn't a great option, but rice on the other hand is very filling, low in fat as long as you dont fry it in oil or something like that, and it pairs great with lots of vegetables.…
