  • How close is your TOM? I usually get hungry then! At least it was healthy calories!
  • I eat back part of my calories too. It has worked well for me. My goal is to lose 1/2-1 lb per week and so far I have been consistent at 1lb per week with the exception of a plateau, an a month long hiatus I took where I gained 2 lbs back. My diary is open to my friends if you want yo add me.
  • Thank you! I am shopping for some now!
  • I have high arches, so the superfeet sound perfect. Where can I purchase?
  • You all are very inspiring. I finished the c25k program about a month ago, and was lost for a bit before deciding to do the 10k app. I finished wk2 d2 yesterday of the Five to 10k Run Double app. Not my best run, but I am usually pushing the stroller, so my best runs are those without the stroller. Anyway, my time is not…
  • I use the rundouble app as well as I purchased the full version which has a plan for speed training, (5k improver and 10k improver). I finished the C25k app about a month ago, then did a few 5k improver days, before deciding that I really just wanted to run longer distances and my time was pretty good already. I my first…
  • So glad it is cooler here in N. Cali!!! Great job!

  • Just joined this group. I did the Week 2 D1 of the Run Double app. It's different that some I guess as the sticky says there should be 4-15 minute runs broken up by 1 min. of walking. My app says to run 5-12 minute runs broken up 1 minute of walking for a total of 51 minutes. I warmed up before starting my app, so I…

  • Great job just getting out there. It must have been a huge disappointment for you! I know I would have nearly cried! Finding a reliable sitter that I actually trust is incredibly difficult! Sorry yours flaked out on you!
  • I am 5'4, and 37 years old. I am a pear shape, which means I carry all my weight in the lower abs, butt and thighs! I am a small on top, and a size 6 in womens on the bottom. I started at 138 and am currently 123 lbs, shooting for 119 (but thinking I might need to lose more once I hit 119). Due to my age, 110 may make me…
  • I just have a pair of 5lb dumbells so my results are not as fast are noticeable, but I noticed after about 6 weeks. Looking for larger weights to squat with!

  • Thank you both. I was wondering about MFP calculations on the potassium, as it shows I get almost none despite eating bananas and spinach. Glad it's most likely wrong! I have been taking (inconsistently) a children's chewable vitamin with iron. I really suck when it comes to taking vitamins that taste gross. Ha ha!…
  • Thank you all. Perfect advice. Loved this part, "Because your body just wants 5 lbs of glycogen stores. The solution? Cut down to 5 lbs under your target weight and then eat at maintenance. Your body will rebound up to a healthy non-glycogen-depleted state and you'll be able to maintain relatively effortlessly and eat more…
  • Why so few calories for a snack? My snacks are usually 150-200 calories and I can still stay under goal. But to answer your question, pretty much all fruits (in moderation) and veggies fit your bill. 1/2 cup low fat cottage cheese, the 1/2 c blue diamond chocolate almond milk is only 90 calories.
  • i am addicted to caffeine. I used to drink at least 20+ oz of Pepsi a day on top of my 2 cups of coffee each morning. I dropped the Pepsi and drink water now. It wasn't easy. I still get cravings for it and it's been over 2 months. However the carbonation causes so much bloating with me that I don't even want to touch it!…
  • First off, your stronger set thighs have nothing to do with swimming in high school. Your body shape is just that. It's genetic. I am a pear. I have a small upper body and a larger lower body. I am 5'4 and currently weigh 127 lbs. I am not happy with my belly. Have you had your body fat percentages checked? Those numbers…
  • Totally agree with ^^^ this!!!
  • We all hit moments where we can't, but the only way to success it to keep trying. I have a mantra when things get really bad. Timed 1 word with each step. "I - will - not - stop!" then repeat. Also, if it helps, set a distance goal in your mind. Say, ok I should be done with the 5 minute run when I reach, this location. I…
  • Wow, you are running every morning??? I have been skipping 2 days between runs and it works the best for me right now, as my cross training is taking it's toll. Would love to run more often, so i might change it up this week!
  • RunDouble Update I completed C25K Week 8 Day 3 (3.32 miles), in 35:11, pace 10:35 min/mile, with @RunDouble 3.32 miles in 35:11, speed 5.66 mph Total distance including wu/cd was 3.86 miles and total time of 44 minutes No stroller today, and the weather was nice and cool! Felt awesome!
  • keep using your daily accomplishments as motivation! Look back at where you have come in such a short time. I have a really hard time mentally too. My brain thinks I am lazy. My body is proving it wrong, and it is throwing a huge fit, and really trying to convince me that I can't do any of this. But I am doing this and I…
  • Congrats on starting!!! Most of us are addicted to running by week 5! Hope you will be one of us addicts too!!!
  • This is exactly what I would recommend. Get your cardio built up so that you can do an intense HIIT training which will bring up your speed. If you are not used to running, and cardio in general, then HIIT will be a bad place to start (in my humble opinion).
  • Well today was weigh in day. Still on my plateau. Actually was up .4lbs. :-( But I decided that I am not going to worry about that right now. focus on my running and exercise program while eating well and skip the scale for a while (if I can!). so today's run went like this: RunDouble Update I completed C25K Week 8 Day 2…
  • AWESOME!!! It is great to look back at where you were. Especially when runs are really hard and you feel discouraged. Looking back makes you see just how much you have accomplished!!! Great job! Keep it up!
  • As your ticker says, "Just keep moving". Don't worry about how fast. :-) You've got this!!!
  • UHG!!! Not happy with how my run went today. Statistically it is right where I am supposed to be, but physically/emotionally I don't have that sense of accomplishment. Probably because I have changed my expectations of myself. See, I ran a 5k on Saturday and it was a breeze. I felt like I could have run a lot more. But…
  • Wow, that is an accomplishment!!! Congrats on your graduation today!!! I have a friend with arthritis and she can't hardly move, so it must have been difficult for you!!!
  • I don't think I could have done it in 88 degree weather either!!! God job getting in what you could!
  • Yahoo!!! You finished! Great job!
