  • Fabulous job my friend!! You are truly an inspiration...keep up the great work!!
  • Charley Horses were a nightly event for me for months..I felt if I stretched my leg a certain way, I would get woken up out of deep sleep in pain...someone told me to make sure I was getting enough potassium? I started eating 1/2 a banana and it seemed to help. I'm sure getting my protein and water requirement in didn't…
  • I was definitely missing diet soda for a while, but when the craving comes, it passes just as quickly. I think one of the tougher issues for me is the timing of my meals, quitting drinking 1/2 before and up to 1/2 after....
  • My husband has never been on board...he thinks I took the easy way out..whatever...it was the best decision I could have made...down 65 pounds, blood pressure normal (off meds), Cholesterol heading back to normal, blood sugar (NORMAL!!!)...it certainly makes you wonder what the underlying problem could be. He has never…
  • I've lost 65 pounds and my two best friends and my husband have said absolutely NOTHING!! It's not like I need to hear it, I think it makes them look like idiots...and certainly not "friends"...I have had incredible support on MFP...I don't know what to think when people aren't supportive..I tend to agree that it must be…
  • Welcome to the group! Looks like you have done quite well for yourself! Congrats!! :)
  • I am 5 months out and I have noticed that I feel hungry more often..I plan on going to some local meetings for WLS, and re-reading all my notes/information to make sure I stay on track. I had gotten away from journaling my food..I think that makes a big difference and helps keep me accountable for my actions.
  • Fantastic!! So happy for you and your "new" life!! I am 5 months out and can't wait to see where I'll be in another 7 months!

  • Thank you all for your advice! It's kind of scary at first, and a disappointment, but if I have to lose some hair for the sake of my health, I will...I see my hair dresser this week, so I'll talk to her about it as well. Again, Thanks friends!!
  • Thank you for your post! I, too, have felt that I have become complacent. Certainly not something I wanted to do, nor something I ever dreamed I would do..but life happens. I am just back from vacation, and although I worked hard to eat the right things, I know there were times that I gave in and ate the wrong things. I…
  • I can tell that I have lost weight, but when I go shopping, I can't help but go to the old size 20...People at work keep telling me I am going to have to go shopping soon for a new wardrobe. Not sure why I can't wear clothes that fit me better, I guess it's just that "fat" mentality. Maybe I am just not used to wearing…
  • I've told my family and close friends. As time went by, I would tell people that I felt comfortable telling. It's funny though..my husband and my 2 best friends (who did not "believe" in the surgery and thought I was taking the easy way out)..they have not said ONE WORD about my 50 lb weight loss. Not that I need to hear…
  • I would do this all over again in a HEARTBEAT!!! I am about 10 weeks outfrom RNY and have lost 51 lbs. I feel fantastic, I feel great about myself! I have so much energy, I am off my blood pressure medication...I go to the Doctor on thursday and I am dying to see my bloodwork. This surgery saved my life..I am sure of it! I…
  • You look FABULOUS!!!! What an accomplishment! My daughter is 15 and recently lost weight but wants to work on her abs...do you have any suggestions as to what she should do to get more definition? Thanks for posting..truly inspiring!
  • Fabulous!!! Great Job!! Very inspiring :)
  • Honey Bunny
  • I have 4 Miniature Pinchers...all about 8 yrs old...I was going to breed and then decided against it. As much as I love them, they certainly are devil dogs... Taz - my baby... Tinkie - my husband's baby Bosco- my son's baby Pixie - my 2nd baby.... I think 3 was pushing it, but 4 took us over the edge...we took in Bosco…
  • You have done a fabulous job and should be very proud of yourself!! Keep up the great work!!
  • 7.5-8....like the goatee/beard..
  • Thanks! I have found the ready to drink from GNC Total Lean...I guess I will just have to make myself drink an exra shake to make up the difference...I've also been looking at others' menu's to see what they are eating/drinking for additional ideas.
  • I have actually followed your lead and bought a couple of those bars. I do like them..right now I having trouble reaching 60 grams just because I am 3 1/2 weeks out and not very hungry at all....
  • This is so true! Granted I am only 3 1/2 weeks out but one of the first things I noticed is that my body fat really seems like it is getting soft and very mushy..lol..I will take your advice and start measuring..I have only been taking face shots right now, but I need to start taking some full pics. Thanks for the advice!!
  • Lol...you are too funny! Give it a shot!
  • That drink sounds amazing!!! I will have to try that...
  • I had RNY Gastric Bypass surgery 12 days ago...I truly feel that this decision was a life saving one...with a family history of heart disease and diabetes, I decided to take control. I agree with what everyone has said thus far...you definitely want to find a surgeon, go to an informational meeting. My surgeon had a series…
  • I had RNY Gastric Bypass on March 26th...after YEARS of yo-yo dieting...Instead of "Fit at 40", I was still fat and unhealthy with co-morbidities knocking on the door. I know this is a fabulous tool and I have seen so many success stories on this site. You are all an inspiration...and one day, I look forward to being one…
  • Fantabulous!!!! Way to go! You must be so proud!
  • I can't wait for the go ahead for softer foods...stage 3 is getting a little old, good thing I'm not really hungry...Do you recall what you ate in the very beginning besides protein shake and yogurt?
  • That is fabulous! Thanks for sharing!!!!
  • Sometimes I think that the people closest to us, should be able to see the little changes before others, but in fact, I have found it the other way around...since they see us everyday, I think it's hard for them to notice the things that are huge accomplishments for us. But, if you were to run into someone you haven't seen…
