Healthy? You can call me that when I hit my goal weight. When I hear skinny I think J.J. on that old television show "Good Times." Someone who is just a string bean of a person: lanky and without any real curves or shape to them. Not necessarily a bad thing to be...but not for me.

I have to admit it is one of the better trolls I've seen. Throw it a ringding. I think ringdings come in boxes of 12 (sorry, 10--just saw the post above). Get enough ringdings for all of us too. I haven't had one in years!

I'm all for honesty and would rather hear it when possible. But at the same time being honest doesn't necessarily mean one can't also be supportive...or that one has to be cruel about it.

I love diet soda. I used to have a big problem with drinking tons of it...so did the 6 year old. So when we moved the hubby and I decided that we weren't going to buy it for the house. I admit, I miss it and now only have it whenever we're out...but not having it around the house is forcing me to drink more water.

Awesome! Congrats! :)

For the sake of "ball park", you can consider a WW point to equivalent to about 50 calories. There are calorie/point converter programs out there on the web, but WW shuts them down as soon as they find them, since the exact formula to calculate points is copyrighted to WW.

I think I will have some soup and salad today.

Looking good! Congrats on the progress!

Water chestnuts. I can't stand the texture.

Cheese, cheese, cheese! Especially string cheese. Beef jerky will also get me into late-night trouble.

It'll be near where I live (San Diego/LA) next year. I always wanted to be able to run a 5K, perhaps this will be my first one (unless I get motivated to do another one first!)

Hi and welcome! This is probably the most supportive fitness community I've found online. We can do this!

That is so impressive and inspiring! Good for you!

My goal weight is at the very high end of the range of "ideal" for my height and build. I picked my goal weight because I know it looks good on me.

The CVS generic version of Centrum Complete, plus an additional calcium supplement.

If you're concerned about getting all your nutrients even with the best eating you can do on 1300, you could always take a multivitamin to supplement it.

Best quote ever. Or at least for today

Beware the dangers of drinking and posting ;) Glad your night is going well!

5'7" with a large frame. My recommended weight range is 143-163 lb. I've been 150 lb before and it looked pretty healthy on me, so that's what my goal weight is. But anything between 150 and 155 will work for me.

Thanks for the kind words. I work as a psych nurse and I've had my share of physically/verbally abuse, entitled, annoying patients. But for all the bad moments, there are some pretty fantastic moments that make it worthwhile :)

Wine is about 25 calories per ounce, so the standard glass of wine should be 100-125 calories. If I want wine that evening, I work it in place of a snack. I also try to stick to that amount in each glass by using the smaller glasses instead of the large "fishbowls" that I might be tempted to add additional wine to. My…

Hi! WeightWatchers is a great program: I once lost 20lb on it. But I didn't like having to pay a membership fee, nor am I really a meeting person. I'm finding myself opening up much more here on MFP than I ever did in all those WW meetings. So WW is great but it wasn't the fit for me. If it's the fit for you, more power to…

I'm not using NHS's version because I didn't know about it until now :) I'm using one of the programs from John "The Penguin" Bingham's books and taking the weekly progress slower than usual because of a 20+ year history of bad knees. I don't have a 5K schedule to meet...yet ;) I just want to be able to start running…

I think exercise can definitely help but based on my own past weight loss experiences, exercise won't counteract a bad diet. I 'm learning it's a combination of both tightening the diet and getting more activity in.
