I don't think that's enough fat. I have my macros set at 60% fat (I eat a paleo diet.) No problem losing weight, my bloodwork is fantastic. Especially since it's healthy fats, I don't think you need to worry. Just my opinion. ETA: agree with previous commenter about the nuts re: Omega-6, though.

Personally, I love it.

oh yea for sure! It has a chain to hold onto so no worries.

Oh, OP, are you asking about ways to make gravy without white flour? Use Arrowroot powder. Works the same, tastes the same, no gluten and better for you than white flour. Kinda shocked about the person saying white flour is not bad for you. I've never met anyone that would say that, EVERYONE I know thinks it ranges from at…

papier mache. IMO, that's all it's good for :)

I agree the number "12" doesn't really mean anything. I am 5'6" and 195 and a size 12, according to MOST of the pants I wear. 195 for my height is still 10 pounds in to the "Obese" BMI (which I don't hold in any great regard) so I would consider it "fat" still. I started at a 24 though, so I'll happily take it. On a 5'10"…

From what you wrote, I would have been offended too. But I've known some pretty stupid (for lack of better word) men who honestly wouldn't realize how it sounded and didn't mean anything by it. You're the only one who knows him well enough to know if it was just a dumbass mistake without malice, or a suggestion that he…

Had a similar thought this week. I was at my daughter's middle school concert and noticed the same thing (the majority of all the women 35ish-55ish being obese, not just overweight.) It just stood out to me, how few "healthy weight" people I saw. I'm not in that group yet (healthy weight), but working towards it. Just…

Ribeyes and T-bones. ohemgeeee. I could eat them every night, if I could afford it! ETA: Also Salmon!!

"Damnit, Jim!" and, from a song (and unrelated to the first Jim quote): "JIM! That's a made up word Jim!" Also "Well, spank my *kitten* and call me Judy."

I swear by it. BUT I also count calories, so I'll know if I'm in the ballpark. I don't sweat it if I go over though, as long as I know it's healthy foods. Be warned though, Paleo isn't about losing weight as much as it is about eating the right foods for longevity and health. You will feel AMAZING, and weight loss is…

It's water.

It doesn't REALLY matter anyway, consistent or not. You will eventually see a downward trend or upward trend and know what's going on. Coupled with the way your clothes fit, the number doesn't really matter. The key is to give it time. Day to day fluctuations will drive you crazy anyway.

HW: 270 LW: 160ish (in high school) CW: 195 GW: 135-155 will decide then. 5'6" for frame of reference.

I agree, get rid of her. The Captain is corrupt though. They'll either come to an "agreement" on his silence or maybe he'll have a heart attack and die conveniently.

^^^ Listen to this guy. He sounds like he knows what he's talking about. I'm free of that addiction too, and it is AWESOME how AWESOME I feel. And no, I don't have Celiac, but IMO, it's true that MANY more people are intolerant of grains than we know. You go through life thinking you feel GOOD, until the day when you feel…

Your mom is wrong. My mom told me at the start "whatever you do, DO NOT LIFT WEIGHTS! It only makes you bigger than you already are." That went in one ear and out the other, of course I lift, and lift heavy. She recently said to me "I can't beleive you accomplished this (my weight loss and better shape) by EXERCISE or…

After about 8 months of seeing my success, my husband started taking better care of himself and he has since lost 40+ lbs. We both have about 40 left to go. We are both better people because we feel better, both physically and emotionally. We've gone hiking together and go walking all the time instead of sitting in front…

83.1 for November and I only have 43.9 left for my goal of 1,000 miles in 2012!

I drink "Bulletproof" tea almost every morning. Many use butter (or butter AND coconut oil) but I use 2 TBS coconut oil blended with an immersion blender into my hot spiced chai (because I detest coffee.) I do count those calories among my day's calories. It is creamy and spicy and delicious and helps me reach my fat…

Actually the opposite. I used to come down with EVERYTHING. Was sick all the time. Then I joined a gym and started exercising and cut out foods that weren't a positive influence on my heath and I have only had 1 cold (and it was mild) in the lat 18 months. It has been AWESOME to be able to use my vacation days for actual…

Perfect timing, my husband made the most delicious chicken breast I've probably ever had for dinner tonight. The only thing on it was a full slice of really thick and fatty (foraged hog) bacon. It was delish! Baked in the oven. Was moist and almost smoky tasting. so good.

I got mine in September. I didn't always get it (it's free at work), but after reading the recent articles on the flu shot possibly helping to prevent heart attacks, I'll probably always get one. I've never gotten the flu the years I've gotten a shot. Maybe I'm just lucky, but I've never had a bad experience with one.…

3 full-on "boy-style" pushups. I just hit that this month for the first time in my life! I do them every chance I get, I love pushups. And it was only 1 at the beginning of the month. ETA: from the knees, I feel like I could do them all day.

I'll second (and third) what the others are saying: dietary fat does not make you fat. And could hinder your loss. My macros are set on 60% fat, 20% protein and 20% carbs and I have no problem losing (and great bloodwork numbers.) A typical day I will often go over on fat and under on carbs, though not intentionally. It's…

No, this has never happened to me with alternate day fasts. I think you might need more than a week of trying something new before deciding "it's going really well." Especially when the whole time you've had stomach issues. I would give it a little more time and def track what you're eating on your other days. I would…

There were three of me so I could do all the things I want to at once.

^^ this. Also agree with the "don't wrestle with pigs" commenter. There's both good and bad in the world, and by extension MFP. Me, I just pay attention to the good. Also, OP, you're guilty of lumping EVERYONE on MFP into the same group with this "Shame on you" post. And certainly not everyone is guilty. Those that are…
