  • Hang on a minute! All these negative comments about minding your own business & getting a life - I thought the point of doing this together was for feedback & encouragement?!?!? I try & make comments as positive as possible but I do make note of what they are regularly getting wrong (everyone has off days!) and I expect…
  • I find that I am more organised & less stressed if I track in advance. I can make sure I have taken the right thing out of the freezer to go with the veggies in the fridge & then I can see how much I have left over to snack on..........
  • It is just not good for a human to drink so much rubbish! A couple of cups is fine but this is why we all have a weight problem as we will not be told what is not good for us & we allow the food industry to persuade us that the rubbish that they produce is good for us - IT IS NOT GOOD FOR US!!
  • Once perhaps twice a month at most! But then I am in the UK.......
  • The answer must be no! This is a most unattractive quality in this man & should cancel out any attraction that you have for him. You are worth more than that! Wait for someone who will treat you as you deserve to be treated!
  • Yup this! and make sure he has a list of suitable treats like pedicures & beauty treatments, flowers, your favourite perfume etc. These can be updated with a new dress or gym stuff when you start getting too small for the stuff you have now,,,,
  • A long journey but so many goals to go through! I started at 306 & so far have beaten morbidly obese, seriously obese, 4 clothes sizes, riding a bicycle for the first time in 25 years & about to hit my goal for getting on a horse without cruelty!! Now I am looking forward to hitting 100lb loss then getting into the…
  • Yes, yes, yes especially if it is good healthy food & you clean up your own mess!
  • Stir-fry just what you need!
  • Before I eat it usually if I can! I like to see the day planned as there is always stuff to add as I snack & I like to get in a balanced diet before that starts.......
  • I plan my day & log what I am going to eat for my main meals in the morning. Then I just have to add in everything that sneaks in as snacks.....
  • I make my own bread & you do need a little sugar for the yeast to do it's stuff. I worked it all out on the recipe builder & it works out at 253 cals per 100g. I slice it & freeze the slices then weigh when I get them out of the freezer to use. You get nicer bread that way & you know what goes into it! It all depends how…
  • It was an interesting program & I can see how it changed the way society looked at food but as for me, I got fat by eating too much!! Mine was not McD either! Hate the stuff! http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01jxzv8/The_Men_Who_Made_Us_Fat_Episode_1/ for those in the UK!!
  • I found bones in my hips & bottom! I guess they were always there but now I cant stop feeling for them as they are so encouraging!! Wedding ring fits now too - Bit of a pity as hubby long gone! Shoes more loose. Hair lays differently as less fat on my head especially around the back! The feeling of legs not rubbing…
  • Start off by listening to her. How she is feeling & how she wants to go about this. If it's her ideas that are being validated then she may have a chance. Help her to access regular local help in the way she wants it & help her with how to cook healthy food. If she is doing her own cooking she may have some support from…
  • This is so important! She won't do it unless she wants to. It is her choice & her responsibility. My parents tried to make me lose weight and it made the whole problem worse for many years. You can only do it for yourself & cheer her on when she decides for herself!!
  • You are inspirational! I had mine 18 months ago & lost 80lb in the first year as did not really get into dieting just ate less & did not do too much exercise. Now I have lost my surgery weight I am trying to get into the proper diet stuff (late but better late than never!) & have lost another 10lb. Feeling better for the…
  • Looks good but will have to adjust as some of that stuff just not available in the UK! Thanks for the ideas though!
  • My mother spent her life criticising my weight & had a go at every opportunity! In the last 18 months of her life she was unable to say anything as I lost 6 stone & she was unable to say something nice so had to shut up. She died last month, unable to notice my weight loss but it remained her problem not mine. Plenty of…
  • You are not doing it for them but for you. Their disappointment is not your problem & they have no right to dump that on you. Do what you do for you & do not ask for their opinions!
  • Interesting topic. I have lost so many pedometers when worn at the waist & really want a fitbit but reluctant to lose something so expensive!! Are they secure??

  • Welcome to the club! Start by making one change at a time..... My way was: 1. I logged it all for a week - ALL of it (not public at the time!) When I saw how bad it was I started 2. Changing the food to healthier choices in places. Eating fresh but still going over a lot! 3. Keeping busy so I had less time to think about…
  • I have phases where I delete friends who seem to have disappeared. If they just happen to be in my list I have less of a problem with them than if they are active but not changing bad eating habits! If I have friends I take the time to check their diary & comment on how they are doing well or could improve (kindly of…
  • Try not allowing yourself to eat it until you log it! That growling in your stomach will help to remind you! Like most people, a certain amount of discipline is required & although this is not easy for you we can all use our excuses. I have MS & find it difficult to exercise. It's difficult but not impossible!! Keep at it…
  • Nice ideas! Recipe for the chickpea salad please......!
  • Well done that must feel good! I have a way to go as yet but I did like coming out of morbidly obese & seriously obese.......!!
  • Awake early here for the Gas man! It's 9am so very early for me!! Chin up Todd. All is going really well but it will take some time......
  • Baked in the oven with lemon & black pepper!! Yum!
  • How about going to maintenance calories and doing some exercise if you go over? That way you have some control of how bad the result of the holiday is!!
  • Got to have lot's of goals when you have a lot of weight to shift. I have achieved a lot - No seat belt extension when I travelled to Canada in February New clothes Size 16 knickers & bra size down by 4 sizes! Safely getting on a bicycle for the first time in 25 years! Beating the morbid obesity section........then the…
