I have done a Tough Mudder, and it is difficult. However, whether you're on a team or not, there will be people there to help you. There are obstacles that require assistance for 99% of the people on the course, and I never ran across a person that wasn't willing to help me or someone else. Pace yourself and have fun. It's…

I'm 5'4" and 160. I wear around 6 or 8 depending on the brand.

One piercing (tongue) and 7 tattoos (two on each arm, one on my back, two on my chest). At this point, I regret all my tattoos. LOL! I plan on getting them lasered off eventually.

I've been wearing size 12 clothes knowing they are too big. I tried some clothes on at the store and was pleasantly surprised to see that I am now a size 8! I couldn't believe it! :)

I'm pretty close to being able to do pull ups with my body weight. I'd suggest using a chair to practice, and if possible, get a pull up band. They come in different resistances and help it feel more natural. It's like a big rubber band that you put your knee or foot in. Best of luck!

Yes, definitely hang in there! Yes, I did eat the exercise calories back. I ate net 1800 during the program and have continued it since. :)

I think I starting losing weight around the 3rd week. I lost 9 total pounds and a lot of inches. I also did strength training 3 times a week during the program.

My hamstrings were terrible after I did a Tough Mudder. I focused on stretching constantly and slowly. I used heat on them (15 minutes at a time each). My physical therapist also did a deep massage to get a huge knot out. I definitely think the suggestion of a foam roller is also a good idea. You can get them from lots of…

Pure awesomeness! lol

I had a pretty bad plateau recently. What got me out of it was changing up my workout. I always do strength training, and that is helping me build a lot of muscle. The cardio I was doing was mostly on the elliptical. I changed it to Insanity and the weight starting falling off. Just changing my cardio made a huge…

Wow! I guessed myself two sizes bigger than I am. I was definitely surprised.

I finished Insanity a couple weeks ago. If you already work out, then you will most likely not have any problems with it. It is definitely challenging, but it's not impossible! My only complaint is that it caused a lot of knee pain for me. I put a lot of focus on form, but it was still rough. However, I did end up losing 9…

I'm 5'4", 171 lbs, and eat a net 1800. It works well for me, and I lose 1-2 lbs per week.

Maybe in the meantime you can just focus on eating well and meeting your calorie goal. Try exercising just one day a week. Every little bit helps!

Thanks so much for sharing your story. I too have PCOS. I tried several fertility treatments to no avail. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with cancer last year an had to have a hysterectomy. I guess in a way I was kind of relieved to not have to go through the fertility stuff anymore. At this point, I'm trying to drop the…

I felt the same way. I ended up getting Chobani (which has real fruit in it) and added walnuts (or any nut) to break up the texture. I really like it now!

My recommendation would be to cut out the refined carbs and go for whole grain. I would also recommend increasing your vegetables. I didn't see a whole lot of those in there. You have to increase/decrease to find what works best for you. After some trial and error, I found that a net 1800 was best for me. I can still lose…

Woo hoo! You can totally do this! :)

I just finished Insanity about a week ago. I'm continuing to do the workouts, but not according to the schedule. Feel free to add me!

Go to food--> settings to change what shows up on your food tab. Go to my home-->goals-->custom goals to enter your own goals for macros.

Green tea is really good for you. It contains flavonoids that can help with cancer prevention, etc. It can help with weight loss, regulating glucose levels, lowering blood pressure, reducing bad cholesterol, etc, etc, etc. If you don't like it plain, just add in some soymilk or something similar. I drink tea all day with…

I drink hot black/green tea throughout the day with a splash of vanilla soy milk.

I guess you could classify me as a low-carb vegetarian. I don't eat many grains/rice. My carbs are primarily from fruit. You'll just need to increase your veggies quite a bit! My breakfast is usually two eggs, a piece of whole grain bread, and a piece of fruit (usually banana/grapefruit). My lunch is normally a salad with…

I have three days left. Before I started, I was in pretty good shape. I did (and still do) a lot of strength training (Olympic weightlifting, etc.) but didn't have a good cardio program. I've lost 9 pounds since starting it. I've lost lots of inches and feel faster and stronger. My only issue with it has been a lot of knee…

My advice would be to absolutely eat more. When I started out, I did the 1200 and net 1200, and didn't get results. At this point, I eat a net 1800 a day, and I lost 4.5 lbs in the last 3 weeks. I'm not recommending a net 1800, but I suspect that you definitely need to increase it to a net higher than 1200. Just increase…

I'm in my last week of Insanity and have numerous sore spots. lol Just be careful with your back. When you're sore, you're more susceptible to injuries. I pulled my lower back and it was not fun for about a week. On the exercises that exacerbate it, just modify or do something different. It's not worth an injury!

Once you get into a routine (daily life with a combination of eating well and exercising regularly), it will be a lot easier. Celebrate little milestones and constantly remind yourself of your goals. You can do it! :)

When I had surgery last year, I had to take two full weeks off with absolutely no exercise. My recommendation is to count your calories and stay under your net goal everyday. I did not gain weight during that time. Also, after having the two weeks off, I came back stronger in the gym. My cardio was weaker, but my strength…

Don't give up! If you have a good trainer, then she will work with you to meet your goals. Tell her every time you feel dizzy, nauseous, sore, etc. Good trainers will modify any/everything to your needs - even on a per session basis. If you're concerned about the intensity, then just talk to her about it. Remember, you're…

I'm so sorry that you have to go through this. My dad had neck cancer (also a nonsmoker). He has recovered and is five years cancer free. Last year, I found out I had cancer. I ended up having major surgery and have since recovered and am cancer free. Believe me, I know the feelings you're experiencing right now. But, it…
