I told myself I would try MFP for three months; I would log everything whether I saw progress or not. I was skeptical so I treated it like a science experiment. I got into the goal jeans within a month and broke out my box of skinny clothes within two months! Four and a half months later I'm still not at my goal weight but…

I would go on maintenance for a month to 6 weeks - especially if your workouts include strength training. You may not lose weight but you will likely see the muscle to fat ratio improve. I'm trying it this month, anyway...

Thanks, all, for the responses! My gym is in my neighborhood, less than a half mile away, so I'm really hesitant to go to a less convenient location - especially since getting myself motivated and into a gym after work is hard enough, regardless of how much I love it once I'm there... So, I've been using the slightly…

This is one of my favorite success stories. And your arm looks AHMAZING!

I have the same situation at my gym, but I am currently using the slightly taller rack that's above the inclined bench press. I straddle the top of the bench to get the bar on my shoulders then duck walk away from the bench. I just started so I'm not sure how safe this will be when the bar gets heavier but it works for…

Add me too! All my friends have become inactive, or infrequent at best. I'm 6' and pretty much at my goal. Except now I want to start getting my *kitten* to the gym for strength training, so I'll be around with new goals.

I'm 37 (6' even, 156 lb, size 10, ideal inseam 36" but can almost get away with 34" with flats) and started MFP two months ago because a friend of mine, who is 50, gave me a brand new pair of True Religion jeans because she was going to have to get them shortened and decided a tall girl should rock them instead. (Side…

I've read this elsewhere too and it seems quite reasonable, but do you have a source for it? I'd like to read more about it.

A stupidly expensive pair of perfect jeans - even more motivation to stay on top of maintenance.

I agree! I dream of building my own home someday to have all counters, sinks, appliances, cupboards, and bathroom mirrors at least one foot taller.

I'm a rookie poster and was trying to quote someone...oops. Anyway, one month in and my undies are falling down too!

I've had good luck with Eddie Bauer for tall shirts and blazers. Online only - of course they don't stock the tall stuff in the store.

You must watch this, ladies! I'm guessing we've all heard them all. If this link doesn't work, it's on youtube called "**** Everybody says to TALL Girls" http://youtu.be/pNMllBdAppc. (An acquaintance sent it to me after he questioned my height of 6' since he's 6' and clearly 3 inches shorter than me....and I told him he's…

6' and currently 163. GW is 150-155, or whatever gets rid of the dunlap. I started at 173 a few weeks ago and am thrilled at the smaller number on the scale but really haven't lost any noticeable inches. I suppose that's the blessing and curse of being tall - it takes 10 pounds to notice you've gained weight, but you…
