I was a residential treatment specialist at a psychiatric facility for adolescents. Incredibly emotionally draining and tough, it was not something I could do while being in school. Awesome work you're doing though!

I'm currently a full time sociology/psychology/criminology undergrad, and in my spare time away from homework and research, I work part time as an advocate for the homeless population in my county.

Congrats on going starting college! You're absolutely gorgeous by the way!

I started at over 200lbs, I'm down to 175 amd my goal weight is about 130. I'm only 4'11 but I felt my best at around 130 and felt comfortable and confident in all of my clothes.

That was my thought as well, that maybe she thinks you're going to become completely obsessed with your weight and food and only ever talk about those things. I can tell you from a sort of opposite experience, that I have family members who CONSTANTLY talk about dieting and weight loss and what they're doing now and all…

I need to start hitting up fitness classes at the YMCA. Wanna do a challenge together to go twice a week? Make sure you wait to walk after your meals or your food won't digest :)

I was also a late comer to college. I started at my current university when I was 26 as well after doing a two year program. I'm a double major psych/sociology and minority in criminology. Half way there! I'd like to be in better shape by fall semester, but my ultimate goals are for spring semester because I'm moving to…

I don't have PCOS, but my close friend does, and she had a lot of success losing weight by going on a low carb diet. I believe that her diet was planned out by her doctor and a nutrionist, but losing weight is possible!

I don't have PCOS, but my close friend does and she is on baby number two! I couldn't be happier for her, it took her five years to get pregnant the first time, including fertility treatments and she was pregnant with her second before her first child turned 2. It's definitely possible and I wish you the best of luck. I…

Gosh, I'm maybe an inch shorter than you and when I was 131 pounds, I was a size 9! I have naturally wide hips and a wide rib cage though, oh well! Congrats on your weight loss and might I add, you are a gorgeous lady!

The closest Trader Joes is several hours away from me, which is kind of sad.. no Trader Joes, Whole Market, nothing like that around these parts of North Dakota, or anywhere in North Dakota. If I buy in store, it would have to be a brand that is carried in major grocery stores and the like. We do have a couple of…

Any and all recipes are welcome! Thank you.

I will try those ones outs, they are super cheap at my local grocery store. I live in a small city in North Dakota and we are pretty limited when it comes to grocery stores. We have a couple independent and awesome health markets but they are SO expensive its hard to shop there on a college student budget.

I don't have celiacs, well at least my test came back negative, but even after making huge changes in my diet, I am still having consistent symptoms that are typically seen in people who have celiacs or a gluten intolerance. I have to go gluten free and record all my symptoms before and after too see if any of them are…

I think my dad finally realized how much his words hurt me and he has become a lot more supportive instead of critical. I'm glad your husband is being supportive! Guys can be such dolts :)

I just bought a Mio Motiva and I got it for $69.99 on Amazon. It doesn't have a chest strap, so you have to check your HR with two fingers. It has ECG accurate heart rate readings and it is customizable with age, gender, height, weight etc, and it also calculates calories burned. I wanted something a little more simple…

I'm terrible at balancing work, school, and being healthy.
-
What kind of work?
-
I am watching tv in bed, I should be sleeping, but I'm terrible at it. Have to work bright and early tomorrow so there was no gang out for me, and I had to leave work early yesterday because of severe pain in my mouth from my oral surgery. Bummer weekend.
-
I agree. There's not a chance in hell i would ever let something like that slide.

Family members can be the WORST. I have read so many negative things about other peoples significant others, I'm actually glad I'm single while making all these changes and losing weight. There's a girl I know who works with my friends boyfriend, and she is ridiculously good looking and has a body to die for. She's a…

I have a Japanese Chin and he snores on occasion and it's adorable. He usually only snores when he sleeps on his back and he sounds like a little old man when he does it. He always sticks his tongue out when he sleeps though. p.s. you're dog is adorable. Assuming he's the handsome fellow in your profile pic :)

I have support from my best friend, who is always taking working out and being healthy as serious as I am, and I have support from my family but it's kind of limited. My family has a long and very dysfunctional view on dieting, so I learned from a very early age that being thin trumped EVERYTHING in life. Slowly, over the…

Loved it. One of the best books I've read. It read like I was watching a movie.
-
So I am not weird or alone in having always wanted a portrait of my pup done?
-
Sounds like me, but I'm not in Social Work, I'm Sociology/Psychology with a Criminal Justice minor.

I am still waiting on my Mio Motiva Petite to come in the mail, it better ship soon dammit! I know everyone says that a HRM with a strap is the best because it monitors your HR at all times, but I don't do too many high impact cardio workouts because of knee and back injuries so its super easy for me to just use the face…

I'm a professional student and when I am not doing things like homework, studying, and research for grad school, I work part time as an advocate for the homeless in my county.

I love this book so much. I found a seriously old copy of it in this amazing old book store in my town, sadly it closed down, but before it did I found that and some Hemingway novels. I love them. I just finished reading a few books, I read the Hunger Games Trilogy, Behind the Beautiful Forevers: Life, Death, and Hope in a…

I am definitely going to do the greek yogurt and berries, that sounds delicious! I'm supposed to keep track of all of my symptoms and whether they go away or not after going gluten free because my test for celiacs came back negative, but I'm still having migraines and inflammation and cramps. I'm hoping it works because I…
