I deal with the same issues and I tend to overeat when I don't allow myself to eat something that I want. Eating healthy is what we all strive for but I am not one of those people that is going to give up all of the foods that I like to eat...but as others have mentioned, its about finding a healthy way to eat the foods…

I am so dealing with this same exact issue...I keep wanting to get healthy and making changes and I continue to talk myself out of the healthy eating and into eating crap and then I feel guilty and ashamed and the whole thing starts all over EVEN THOUGH I KNOW IT WILL ONLY MAKE ME FEEL MISERABLE. It is so stupid and yet…

I have an autoimmune disorder and it affects my GI tract and I actually have a very similar complaint. I also take a daily medication to treat my ADD which exacerbates the issue. I feel nauseous regularly after drinking water and as strange as it seems, it happens. My doctor thought I was being a crackpot, but I wasn't…

He does an excellent creepy pm, I am impressed.

Creepy pm, definitely.

You bring up an excellent point about objectification, while males also experience the pressures of society and standards of beauty, women tend to be the sole focus; unfortunately this is what happens in a patriarchal society. Also, I HATE the term "real women" and "real men" because it is degrading and devaluing to all…

That was my thought exactly.

Why do people get into e-rumbles over diets? I always find it humorous how defensive people get over types of diets, even when someone posts something that is totally innocuous. I am gluten free because of Celiacs, but still eat foods with gluten on occasion because bread is delicious. I don't eat meat because eating…

I just purchased a Polar FT4 and currently using a Mio Active Petite. I'm curious to compare the two since the Mio does not use a transmitter and also has difficulty taking my HR when I am still moving. It will definitely be nice to not have to slow down my pace or stop to check my HR. I do know that my MHR has…

I need better glasses.

My most recent NSV was today. I have ADD and one of my symptoms is the inability to control my hunger, yes I know that sounds lame and people might give me **** for it, but it's the truth. I have an insane amount of self-shame and guilt that stems from this and on days when I fail to take my medication and eat until I feel…

Thanks for the advice about the calorie goal. I wasn't too sure if I should just let my body adjust to the lower calories or stick to the calorie goal I'm at. My current protein goal is 70g a day and I haven't been reaching it...maybe this is why my workouts have been a bit more difficult for me than. I also love protein…

Thanks! That sounds really yummy right now actually. I need something calorie dense but doesn't require a large portion...I don't know why I didn't even think of peanut butter and nuts. This diet is forcing me to learn how to cook and plan meals and not just resort to convenience anymore.
-
Oh just to clarify, I don't feel like this during the day, I have actually felt better since switching over and upping my intake of fresh fruits and vegetables.
-
I don't eat "diet" foods or reduced fat foods....today I had fresh fruit for breakfast, vegetarian chili, yellow rice and garbanzo beans with chickpeas for lunch, lumpia wrapped in romaine hearts, mixed vegetables, strawberries and walnuts. I am still experimenting with meals and incorporating more foods into my diet and…

I hate fad diets but if they work for someone than fine, whatever...but this is one of the stupidest things I have heard in recent diet trend news.
-
I just switched to a vegetarian diet and I have been getting in a good amount of protein but I have been short about 10 grams according to what I would like to have in a day. I also know this is because I am still experimenting with menus and recipes and need to expand the range of foods I am eating. Based on my goals and…

Agreed.

Lutefisk and sauerkraut! But also pickled eggs, mayonnaise, any kind of fresh water fish, crab, lobster, raw fish (unless its sushi and it can ONLY be tuna) gravy of ANY kind. Those are just the ones off the top of my head that I absolutely will not eat at all, oh and melted cheese on pizza... ugh, the worst.

Definitely!

I would definitely love to join this group! I have been looking for other women who are also wanting to lose a large amount of weight as well and it would be fantastic to have the support of others. I'm going on a two week backpacking trip to Southeast Asia at the end of May and I need to be in shape and shed pounds before…

I have celiac's and I can't eat wheat or gluten but I'll be damned if that keeps from eating it though. One would think with all the negative side effects and the awful symptoms of my celiac's I would stop...but nope. I could write sonnets of Shakespearean depth about my love of bread.

Aww, haha, everyone on MFP is so sweet today. No offense taken @darkon, I probably wouldn't date you either, but we can surely be friends, right?

Triple kiss!

Try Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred. I love it and it is only about 30 minutes so its great if you're busy and don't have a lot of time and you get results.
-
No, I don't date inanimate objects.

I don't have a gym membership or a fancy digital kitchen scale and I don't use dieting programs. I am also on a tight budget because I am a full time college student and I only work part time. Make sure you log everything you eat, for me, that is where I had to start. I thought I was eating healthy but after using MFP to…

A manny.

You do it everyday, there are no rest days. If you are sore or very tired you can go at your own pace and use the modifications that Jillian has already built in.

You don't have to jog...find workouts that are fun for you. I go between being super active and super lazy. There are days where I just crave the solitude of my living room couch and cuddles with my puppy. For me, it is important that I do what feels best for me, you just need to find what works for you and do it AND have…
