posting a lot these days because i am confused
jog for 30-40 minutes and relax all day to lose weight OR
or active for entire day and take slow walks here and there
plus counting calories obviously.
Why i dont like jogging-- it leaves me so tired for the rest of the day
( i am hypothyroid if that counts ) ---23-- girl--

For weight loss, control of calories "in" is paramount.
Yes, exercise will burn some, but it mainly serves to keep your metabolism strong, and keep the endorphins (feel good and good about yourself hormones) pumping. A lot of research is pointing to short sessions as being quite effective. I'd suggest the occasional walks. However, you said slow walks, and I'd suggest walking fast enough to get your heart pumping a little. Fast enough that you can talk, but singing would be difficult.
Add in a little weight lifting if you can. You can do this at home and it doesn't necessitate gym memberships etc. A few squats and a few internet researched lifts. You can even make home weights with things like jugs filled with beans, although weight sets are becoming quite affordable.0 -
Get your thyroid meds dialed in and you won't be so tired.
For weight loss, it doesn't matter which you do. It's all about a calorie deficit.
For fitness and health, jogging is better than slow walking. Fast walking is better than slow walking. For cardiovascular fitness, you want to get your heart rate up.
Try jogging and walking in intervals, it will increase your endurance.

with jogging i am sedentary for the remaining 23 hours of the day except for for necessary movement

Just do what you enjoy and get something out of it rather than not doing anything and getting nothing. My exercise is walking the dog and 3.5 hours of aikido, neither of which are renowned for getting the heart very fast or building strength. But it fits in with my lifestyle and I enjoy it - job done!0

Walking six days a week (min 30 mins) and throwing in intervals of jogging has been great in helping me lose weight, stay on plan, and keep me motivated.

You don't have to jog...find workouts that are fun for you. I go between being super active and super lazy. There are days where I just crave the solitude of my living room couch and cuddles with my puppy. For me, it is important that I do what feels best for me, you just need to find what works for you and do it AND have patience while you are on your journey.0

my thyroid levels are fine
but all life i have been that overtired person with aches here and there
can jog but so much tired that rest of the day is wasted
and i even enjoy jogging but sacrficing the remaining day activity with one jog seems pretty weird.0
