  • I appreciate the post, I am 49 and have PCOS with 50+ pounds to lose. I ask the same questions, how do I do this once and for all. Through the years I have lost weight and kept it off a few months but it has never been permanent. I am older now and it is more difficult, the health problems add up and I have a lot of…
  • I would like to join, I will be 50 in Oct and need to get under 200 lbs once and for all. My body hurts a lot arthritis, degenerative joint disease, heredity. • I like to shop at Aldi also for the best prices, I have had good experience with most products there. They now carry more healthy options an organic items for less. Save A Lot is another store like this. Look around in your area for other discount stores too, we have a discount store called P&R that has many discounted…
  • In the past I had caused an electrolyte imbalance by drinking only water and exercising a lot. Add some low calorie gatorade to avoid that, 8 glasses-64oz is a good goal to have.
  • I made chicken soup in mine last night and stuffed peppers recently.
  • My husbands was around 10 and he got it down to 6.9 with a low carb diet from his endocrinologist and Metformin and Jardiance. You need medication at an A1c that high. It can cause damage to your kidneys, eyes ect.. He was very strict with it, meat and veggies mostly. We got a spiralizer and use veggie noodles. At Aldi…

  • I work 8-430 but have been staying double shifts lately once or twice a week 8am-1230pm. I am going to change to 4-1230 soon though and will have some school clinicals during the day. Thanks for all the ideas, prepping meals ahead is something I really have to do. Some good meal ideas here too. Sometimes I make things too…
  • A moment to think about, I was going to a church sale and took the steps up instead of down and ended up walking 4 flights of stairs. When I got to the bottom the 70 year old ladies said "honey you are huffing and puffing you better take the elevator down that hall.." Embarrassing and made me think I better do something…

  • There are alot of recipes for spiralized vegetables I have been trying lately. You can buy them at the grocery store already cut or get a small tool to do it. Also a peeler can be used. Zucchini squash carrots work well. I bought some butternut squash ones already made and sauted them in a little butter with garlic salt…
  • I agree with you, there is so much information out there it is hard to decide what to do. My husband is T2D and recently had a 491 blood sugar in the ER. His endocrinologist wants him on the low carb diet and he is very strict about it and his blood sugars are much improved. I make a low carb dinner for us with meat and 2…
