  • I make sure i eat enough, sleep enough and that I do mobility and I am rarely so fatigued or sore that I can't do anything else.
  • I work from home so i go to my gym during lunch and do my heavy lifting there. I love it! Deadlifts are my favorite.

  • I've wanted to do CF for a few years now, but the timing wasn't right. I saw the movements they were doing and it just got me all excited because it was so different. I bore easily and like being active, but need to enjoy it to continue. Eventually this evolved to wanting to lift heavy. So I found a CF that focuses on that…
  • Did a 253# dead lift on Monday. Felt awesome!
  • Currently the only weight I care about is what is on the bar and that going UP! When I started in October my bench was around 83, push press 93, DL 175, ring rows instead of pull ups.... now, today I did an incline bench at 113 (tried for 118 but failed), Push press is around 113 (can't remember off hand), DL is 253! I can…
  • Crossfit Zeal Holly Springs, NC Saw another Raleigh area person in here..awesome!
  • I am glad to hear this! I keep hearing great testimonials too, even from my coach who follows ETP too. I need to just do it already for the same reasons, want specifics.
  • Same. I love that blog and have been considering joining entirely. I usually work out in the mornings so i do add in extra carbs at night.
  • Recommendations I've received from my gym: Nitrean Stronger, faster, healthier About Time Optimum Nutrition Gold I was using: Vega Sport (got sick of it) Jay Robb Tera's Whey I bought some Optimum Nutrition, but then realized it had splenda in it after the fact, so i'm trying to sell it and will try a different one instead.
  • Dead lifts are my favorite lift! Last strict DL was 205 Last sumo DL was 205 + chains (those are 10lb each) We haven't tested either in awhile and I'm itching to do it! I love that my gym loves heavy lifting.
  • I couldn't do push ups (strict) when I started. My coach had me do negatives - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8FHZ63RKfU From that I do the same, but now can worm up more quickly and also now when I start I can get a couple strict in as well.

  • A month in and we do 3 on and 1 off, 2 on and 1 off and I've been getting there 3-5 days a week, but definitely making sure i'm there mon, wed and fri. They do open gym often too and it's programmed well that it's not like we're overdoing certain muscle groups and get enough rest between.
  • This was todays - only started a month ago Box Squat, bands at 45 degrees + chains, heavy triples up to a single - my highest was 133 Thrusters, 2-3 sets to hit heavy 6-8 then repeat for 2 sets - my heavy was 73lbs Good Mornings or Romanian Deadlifts, 3×12 - 63lbs AMRAP 8 10 KB Swings 10 Strict Toes-2-Bar Bonus: 50-100…
  • When I wear my HRM it says I burn anywhere from 400-600 cals a session.
  • This - check out how to eat to perform. The carbs will help a lot. I only started a month ago and I'm also hungry more often, especially the days we're going for a one rep max.
  • Just started officially a month ago and i'm hooked! I love where I go because our coach incorporates a lot of heavy weight training into our WODs. Today we did Box squat with chains and bands (45 degrees), triples up to a single heavy, then some thrusters, good mornings and then a quick AMRAP of 10 KB swings and 10 toes to…
  • My protein shake has BCAA's in it and I do find I'm not very sore post workout. It's Vega Sport. I am considering another type, but so far it's been working. I'll have to see. I only just started, but i'm hoping with a Paleo challenge i'll see some weight fall off. Looking to drop another 30lbs.
  • I add a banana to my protein shake post WOD.
  • I just started CrossFit, but not new to some of the movements and leg issues, etc. Foam rolling or rolling on a lacrosse ball helps me and stretches for the psoas help too. So i'd work my achilles up my calf, hamstrings, glutes and hips, do some quad and inner thigh too and of course the IT band. Also if you see a…
  • I lost 40lbs doing just boxing/kickboxing workouts against a heavy bag and I threw in some mitt work too. It's an amazing workout.
  • Mine is open.
  • I've started doing this. We traveled recently to visit family and was 500 miles from home. I bought a cooler so I could make my meals and taken them with me as we were out and about. I still ate a little off than I normally do, but I'd say that I still ate 80% clean. It made it a lot easier keeping on track when I returned…
  • Have you checked your abs for a diastasis or separation of the connective tissue holding your abs together?
  • Where i live anywhere from 40-60/hour. Sometimes if you purchase a bulk of sessions the price goes down. Many places do group personal training too. One I know is 99/month, some are 25 or 35/session for a group training.
  • I saw your first after pic and literally said "OMG" You look awesome!!
  • This time around it was a high risk pregnancy with hospital bedrest that put me out of shape. Stress from having a child with high medical needs caused me to gain more weight after I had him. My last pregnancy I lost all the baby weight within 18 months (gained 55lbs). Life is much more chaotic now so it's going slower,…
