OP, if he makes you feel this bad about yourself, find someone who fills you with confidence about all your good qualities instead. Don't waste more of your time thinking there's anything you can do about this guy. Forget him and find someone that calls YOU hot all the time instead of his girl friends.

It really depends on your personal preference. If you're avoiding pressure, then just keep it secret. When you're successful, people will notice, but you'll be proud of your personal accomplishments. If you have maybe one or two people to help support you, then confide in them so that when you get frustrated or hit a wall,…

There are so many things that you could do, but one of the first...go see your doctor if you have halfway decent health insurance. I was having a similar problem with losing, and once I saw my doctor, I discovered it was a slow thyroid problem, and it was making it VERY difficult to lose weight. I also discovered that I am…

Really deish and amazing NY style pizza with lots of ooey gooey cheese on it! YUM

Lol. yes. Sorry. INtolerant or resistant. =) Thanks. And yes. My exercise has been upped dramatically (esp. for someone who loves her couch!)

I completely agree that people are going to use what they want to use to lose weight. I'm currently on a very low carb diet, but I am also doing it with a doctor's supervision, and the way I've been told to do it is with low-cholesterol, low-fat, lean proteins. I can't eat all the eggs and bacon I want (as I had a friend…

At my PF, the black card allows you to take someone with you each time you go to your 'home' gym an unlimited amount of times. If you go to another PF, they limit how many times you can bring someone along. But my fiance and I actually do the black card, because we go together when we go.

I'm sure there are people out there that do use that as an excuse to be overweight, but my sister and I are the same height, came from the same original DNA, and if you put my wrist/ankle next to hers...mine is twice the size...the bone. Not the fat around it. When we are the same weight, she still wears a different size…

You DO get used to it. I was never a water drinker, and a few years ago, I started upping my water intake. Now, I feel pretty thirsty if I don't get enough of it. My body craves it now that I'm used to it. I drink probably between 64 oz and 124 oz a day depending on my workout schedule that day. Crystal Light mix-ins make…

I get these every now and then, too. When I feel one coming on, I IMMEDIATELY shove my heel down and lock my leg before the cramp can really get hold of my calf. It usually goes away very quickly and I don't usually have any soreness the next morning. Water and potassium are great, but my doctor also told me to not forget…

I also have been teetering and tottering for a while now. I also am engaged and eager to look great for myself and for wedding photos. I'm ALSO working full time and going to school full time trying to get a nursing degree. It's incredibly difficult to stay on track when it's usually much easier to eat badly, ESPECIALLY…

Family first. Just let her know that you had planned on spending what you thought was an "extra" day with your family. A true friend will understand this and tell you to go have a wonderful time with your family!

Absolutely! I take the same supplements...I can have cheese, but only small amounts and only low-fat cheeses. I also have to cut the fat off of any meats that I eat, and they suggest that I stay with lean protein to keep it easier for myself. Sounds like very similar versions!

I don't know of anyone who large amounts of unhealthy fat is GOOD for, but yes, based upon a medical condition that doesn't allow my body to process carbs correctly, I did Atkins looking to drop carbs and pounds, and it caused a lot of nutrient deficiencies and it caused gallstones that became inflamed. I have had to learn…

Everyone will have medical issues with the amount of fat in the Atkins diet. That's actually the cause of having to have my gallbladder taken out in an emergency procedure. That's why my diet is now doctor supervised. Also if you don't drink a TON of water to flush out the system, kidney stones can result.

A ketogenic diet like you describe IS unhealthy. Your body isn't getting essential nutrients that it needs to function. Not enough doses of calcium, vitamin D, or potassium are just starters. I'm actually on a doctor-supervised ketogenic diet in which she has me take supplements for everything that I can't get through my…

For anyone who has suffered from any form of depression, they'll know that this is true. The decision to get help and take a pill for a problem is a VERY hard decision to make. I'm now 28 years old, and I have been on antidepressants on and off for about 15 years. Mine is a chemical problem. My body just doesn't produce…

You can do this! You did it before! And as someone in a VERY similar struggle, I can completely relate! Not only did my depression sneak up on me, but my thyroid condition is out of control again, as well. I'm also living a very stressful life, and as an emotional eater, the depression just makes it worse. I also binge eat…

/\/\/\/\/\ This. My fiance is supremely insecure with his weight, and now that I've started to change things, it makes him feel inadequate somehow. He feels like I'll leave him behind and find newer, shinier things. Tell your man to just have a little faith in you. You're not going anywhere, you're just making sure that…

My fiance is the same. When I first started losing weight, and actually LOST WEIGHT...that's when he realized that I was serious. He got really insecure and thought that once I "got skinny" I would no longer find him attractive and that someone more attractive than him would 'steal' me away. We had to have a REAL talk…

I've done the same thing. I refuse to meet up with people that I was really good friends with a few years ago when I moved. I didn't want them to see how much bigger I had gotten. Since beginning to eat healthier, I've started to talk to them again, and a goal of mine is to see them again SMALLER than I was when we first…

These are all FANTASTIC books! I also highly recommend them. Waiting for them to all finish coming out. I burned through the first three a while back and was SO excited when she came out with more. Also the Looking Glass Wars trilogy is great!

When a family member went to the hospital with weight-related health issues. I knew I was going the same way, so I decided to take the weight risk out of my health. I was also getting to the point where I wasn't comfortable going up anymore sizes in clothes.

For some people, gastric bypass or lap band isn't really a choice, it's a procedure that MUST be performed to save a life, just like a heart bypass or something similar. I personally haven't considered it yet, because I want to exhaust all options first, but I have known people with diabetes, high blood pressure, even…
