  • I pre-log my exercise as a motivation/bully tactic to actually make myself do it. Once it's on here and my MFP friends have seen or commented on it, I kinda feel like I have to do it. Maybe your exercise/extra calories can count to the next day (big breakfast) since you exercise so late at night? Just an idea.
  • No this would not make me angry. I think someone saying to me 'should you be having that?' makes me more angry. Just my personal hot button.
  • I saw the segment. It really only confirmed what I already knew...we have too much sugar in processed food. I am not a 'clean' eater by no means and I currently eat a lot of sugary/processed foods, but I would like to decrease that. However the last interview on the segment was sugar cane farmer and he was absolutely…
  • Give them the side eye :-/ because that is the way to get the good stuff out of the shell...and then consume!!
  • All of these ideas has me heading to the store to buy some avocados. I eat it any day...any way...on anything and that's my favorite way to eat avocado.
  • Go with what your nutritionist says since they know you personally not just through an MFP forum. Height, weight, pounds needed to lose are all factored in. My experience is the only thing I can attest to so...When I ate close to or less than 1200 calories I was cranky, lethargic, and unable to workout effectively. As a…
  • I don't bank calories at all, but if I know I am going out to dinner I eat lighter for breakfast & lunch and/or get a good workout in so I have something extra to work with for the planned meal.
  • As a southern gal my suggestion would be fried chicken livers.
  • I saw some great stuff on your diary (ceviche??? yummo!!) Rev up that metabolism by snacking more throughout the day is something I would suggest. Split your meals up and eat every couple hours. Works for me but mine is out of necessity.
  • It takes time for the body to adjust and for our ideas/thoughts to adjust with it. Give your body some time, be gentle with how you criticize yourself because the journey has only begun, 5 weeks is no time at all. Our journey to health and wellness never stops. Last but not least, don't forget to eat...FOOD IS FUEL. The…
  • If you are too worried to up your calories all in one move, try having 'peak' days. It's where you up your calorie intake one day a week (or however works for you) and then you go back down to your low calorie intake. This may give you the chance to compare and contrast on a daily, then weekly basis how you feel on the…
  • See what works for your body, increased energy, stamina, and more flexibility with being able to eat treats and not be so strict with eating certain food groups. I have a healthier perspective on my losses and gains because it's all relative and I can always go back down to a larger deficit if I start gaining excessively.
  • try going on your goals and customizing them to reflect a higher percentage of protien vs carbs vs fat. When you customize you can change those percentages to whatever you want them to be. Mine is set at 40-30-30 carbs-protien-fat.
  • Wonderful!! Say goodbye to Obesity FOREVER! I remember that day when my BMI was simply overweight. Keep going because you are on the right path to complete health and wellness.
  • Keep walking tall lady because you have class and are raising a young man to have class and treat others with dignity and respect. Not sure that can be said for those unkind individuals in the truck that decided to harass you. Keep on your journey to health and wellness and leave the losers behind.
  • It kept me warm...I am always cold now!!
  • Ginger snaps, not too bad if you only have one cookie.
  • The BMR calculator and TDEE on MFP is accurate. I have done both calculations on a different site and the MFP number is within 2 calories of the calculation I got elswhere. Now to eat your BMR calories or 1200 calories. When I eat 1200 calories I feel lethargic, grumpy, and foggy (can't think straight). My current goal has…
  • My measure was, and still is sometimes, to get in the ideal BMI range for my height. Which will be 150 pounds. An additional 15 pound loss for me may not be necessary, or possible because I have stalled on the weight loss. I like how I look right now, I love how I feel inside and out. I have more confidence, energy and I…
  • that is my all time favorite NSV...fitting into smaller clothes! You go girl!
  • bump to refer to later when I cook some of these recipes :D
  • I get treats everyday! So when I go out to eat I don't care to splurge on dessert. If I do plan to eat a dessert I make sure I only eat half my meal. Try to make the "celebrations" about the people that are around you, who support your goals, who enrich your life, and less about the food. I comfort and entertain myself…
  • You can set it to 2lbs to start. I would make sure that the calorie goal is high enough to sustain you through workouts, etc. If not then move it to 1lb so you get more calories to work with.
  • Go to the MFP and set your goals to lose 1.5-2 pounds a week. Based on your height and current weight it will give you the information you are asking for, don't reinvent the wheel! The website is set up to figure it all out for you.
  • Every milestone should be celebrated, from morbidly obese to just obese is an accomplishment and you are on a great path...let the journey continue.
  • Goal to eat 1500 calories in a day Calories consumed 1500-500 Calories burned during exercise = Net calories 1000 MFP is going to tell you that you get 500 additional calories because your goal is still to eat 1500 calories in a day. 2000 BMR - 1500 Goal calories per day = 500 calorie deficit each day * 7 days in a week =…
  • I love dark chocolate and it's the only kind of chocolate I can eat in moderation. Otherwise I am stuffing my face with candy. You may try the baking morsels. The are small in size but you get lots of them to eat in a serving (measure them out to keep yourself accountable).
  • My problem?? I lost 120 pounds that's my problem...and I don't need someone bringing an expired cheescake variety platter to the area near my desk and deserting it (literally) no one knew or claimed to know who brought it so I moved it to the cafe where more people could enjoy the lovely tasty treats.
