  • Hello? What is the subject now?
  • I stopped paying attention to calories. I still put my food I The app but if I focus on 0123 I hit the calorie and macro goals easily and am never hungry. 0- sugar, 1–meal sized salad everyday, 2-cups cooked non starchy veggies everyday, 3 hours before bed stop eating. My macros are 55-60% fat, 20% protein, the rest carbs.…
  • I urge you to research Dr Fung, and maybe get his book The Diabetes Code. It’s really eye opening and makes so much sense. He has a lot of good videos on YouTube too. He’s a diabetes doc with a different perspective on controlling diabetes and losing weight.
  • OMG, I’ve only told a couple people about this because people don’t get it and think I’m crazy. I feel sore when I press in many places on my body. The tips of my shoulders, my ribs, my shins, hips etc. It’s deeper than the skin but not as deep as muscle. I’ve always thought it was inflammation. Now I’ve list 25 lbs, have…
  • I’ve wondered this too. I also think there is a connection to blood glucose levels. I’m 56 and haven’t had hot flashes but I have night sweats every morning about 4am. If I happen to have nights that are especially bad with more night sweats it’s usually during a time when I’m losing weight faster. I also know that it’s…
  • All BG monitors have a +/- percentage that is reported in their product info if you dig deep enough. The ones I’ve checked into are +/- 10%-20%. That’s a lot if your expecting complete accuracy. The best thing is to keep track and look at your averages over time.
  • You are doing awesome! Please don’t measure your success only by the scale. People can weigh exactly the recommended amount and still have a high percentage of fat, high LDL, low HDL, high blood pressure and lousy eating habits. Give yourself credit for all that you are doing right. Keep that up and your weight will…
  • Look into Dr Becky Gillaspy’s 0123 method. She has tons of videos on YouTube. You may be insulin resistant in which case a different way of eating may help. I’ve done really well in this. Started losing right away and am never hungry. Have kept with it for almost four months and don’t miss anything. Google it. Good luck…
  • our bodies don't have any calorie receptors so there's know way for our body to care how many we take in so the old myth of calories in vs calories out is stupid and if it were true, we'd all be able to achieve the weight we want. I highly recommend looking up Dr. Fung on YouTube or in book stores. He's done tons and tons…
  • Absolutely! You can do it, cut down on carbs/sugar, up the veggies and don't cut out fats. Even add good fats if you aren't getting much. 5 lbs is completely doable. I'm at 241.5 and my goal is 10 lbs by xmas!
  • Let's GO! I've had great success over the last couple of months but my "want to" is waning. Need some motivation and encouragement. SW: 267 on Aug 1st, 2018 CW: 248 GW: 150 Check in days: (or whatever works for you) 10/1: 250.1 10/8: 10/15: 10/22: 10/29: 10/31:
  • I haven't tried eating pants but I bet that would help me lose weight haha.
  • I'm in too. I am down 20lb since Aug 1st and want to be 20 less by Christmas. CW: 248 We can do this y'all. Add me as your friend, I'll try to get in the habit of checking in more with the community here as I know I need the spirit here.
  • I love the flavored sparkling waters that are store brands. They are .68 cents per leiter at Walmart and I think the same at Safeway. My favorite flavor is White Grape but there are tons of favors. It gives you the flavor and the fizz and it satisfies the pop craving while still sort of getting you away from the pop so…
  • Hi, I'm 53 years old, 245 lbs and would like to lose a hundred lbs. I've recently entered into a weight loss drug trial. The drugs are ones that are used for diabetics (although I am not diabetic), not insulin but ones that I think keep your blood glucose more even though the day. The weight loss trial is higher doses of…

  • I expected some replies like yours but it's been proven that those who keep track of food intake and then go on to share that list with someone chances for weight loss and keeping it off go up. I realize that I'm ultimately responsible for myself but what's the harm in upping my chances in a way that seems like it would…
  • I take the Weight Watchers approach to this. On their plan you have the choice to eat back the calories you've burned, or not. You can bank your exercise points and it goes on a running total for the week. Starting over at the beginning of each week. That way if you want to have more food on the weekend or a special…
  • I love to have yogurt and frozen berries on hand, it's a great breakfast and a great cool snack. Nuts are good, fruits, mini carrots, chicken breast.... When we have a fridge on vacation I usually pack tea bags so I can make iced tea to have on hand. I'd say lean meats, salad and fruit make a great quick dinner for anytime…
  • I'm a school clinic aide and there are some kids that have terrible eczema and nothing seems to help. I have a neice who had all sorts of allergies like to grass and pollen etc. She also has eczema and needed to bathe every night and use Vanacream on all of her skin before bedtime. At about 8 years old her mom took her to…
  • I'd go more by your weekly chart and not worry so much about day to day. Somehow it usually evens out for me if I don't worry about being over or short on calories or carbs or protein each day.
  • I also have 100 to lose so I know how daunting it is. A couple things I've learned as my kids were growing and I was trying to eat healthier, it takes the same amount of time to cook a low calorie meal as a high calorie one, if not less time. It takes almost no time to have a raw meal, salad, fruits, cheese, smoothies etc.…
  • Sorry, I just realized I left the mae off your name, my apologies. Vicki
  • Hi Reba , I too am ready to give this another shot. I just turned 50 and have never been heavier. I know I'm right around 250 but haven't weighed in awhile. I know I have to start moving to lose the weight but my aches and pains are making it hard. So I definitely get where you are coming from. I'm looking for some email…
  • Hey there, I just turned 50 and am my heaviest I've ever been. I'm so ready to get moving and start eating right. I can't go into it thinking of it as a diet or I'll never succeed. So it's going to have to be more nourishing and nurturing this time. I really need support so I'd live some buddies on this journey. ~ Vicki
  • I know it's not as fun but have a glass of water with lemon before you get a beer and then try to alternate between the two. Having that first glass of water will help you to drink the first beer slower therefore not needing to order your second one so quickly. Even soda water with lemon is good. It looks like you're still…
  • If you've ever seen J. Michaels next to a normal sized person like a talk show host, she's very very tiny. Not just slim but pretty short and small boned. I'd be surprised if she weighs any more than about 105.
  • My husband and I just met with a dietician. We both have a big sweet tooth. She made a statement that really startled me. She said "sugar will kill many many people before fat does". Since we are both over weight and concerned about diabetes her first step with us was to get our blood sugar on even keel throughout the day…

  • Hi all, I just got an iphone a few weeks ago and found this site and app when my husband and I went to a dietician and started needing to track our daily food and exercise. Love it so far and am looking for support. I'm sort of new to online message boards so I'll have to find my way around. Vicki
